A wide grin spread across Euryâs face, and she looked up. Evie. It had been so long since sheâd seen her, and having her standing there in front of her made her feel happy for the first time in weeks. They didnât know each other very well, but she seemed to relate to Evie more than other people ââ she loved to fight, and didnât hold back, just like Eury. It was refreshing to have a friend like her, even if the other probably didnât consider them friends. She didnât seem like the type of person that liked to form emotional bonds. Eury couldnât blame her for that.
âTaking off without a word is better than long, drawn out goodbyes. Besides, we wouldnât be able to have this beautiful reunion if I hadnât ran off.â Evie looked good, and for some reason, Eury felt the urge to hug her. But she wasnât going to do that, because they hadnât even hung out properly yet. It would be weird to just throw herself at the poor girl out of the blue. âI agree. Maybe we should actually arrange to meet up for once,â she said with a chuckle. âNow that Iâm back, I have an empty diary, and itâd be really cool to catch up with you. But only if you wanna, obviously.âÂ
Listening to Eury speak, Evie found herself nodding in understanding. She wasnât sure what it was that made her feel so drawn to the other, maybe it was the shared fire, anger, and pain she saw in her eyes. Or maybe they were just two lost, kindred souls. She had a hard time believing Eury had lived a life similar to hers but she didnât doubt that there was more to the girlâs story than she knew. And even if it was a distraction, she couldnât deny that she wasnât curious about her.
Having experienced loss more times than sheâd like, Evie knew goodbyes made no difference. People liked to think it did but it didnât. âI donât blame you, I would have done the same. Oh, right because having an angry hot girl run into you is always a pleasure.â She joked with a light chuckle. She didnât mind it but it wasnât the most ideal meeting. âMaybe, but that does take away the spontaneousness of it.â Now she was just messing with her, which seemed to come easily. She didnât find herself caring one way or another when it came to how they met. âYeah, why not? I canât say I have that much going on in my life at the moment either, so.â And if nothing else she could maybe get some answers, as she had a feeling Eury and her friends knew more about the whole Power Rangers thing than they let on.
