I"m waiting for you here ...
The Sameer Project needs you!
Please consider increasing your contribution to The Sameer Project. They have several campaigns on Chuffed that support different areas across Gaza. I encourage you to choose any campaign and contribute regularly, increasing your donation whenever you are able to.
We are a donations based aid initiative for Gaza led by Palestinians,
Please increase your donation if possible because Israel just attacked a community kitchen in Gaza killing three volunteers but I'm not sure which community kitchen they attacked but increase your donation anyway. This is a dire time.

are you a bad writer if you make ocs
Consensus
Yes
No
it's people interpreting a hagiomoto post in the least charitable way possible for totally not racist reasons
original post: writing a story by starting from designing characters first and instead of focusing what the story is supposed to be about and then designing the characters to serve the narrative will result in a bad story
anon, trying to stir shit: are you a bad writer if you make ocs
you know what? fuck it, yes, you are a bad writer because you're a copyright cucked idiot by distinguishing between a character derived from a major intellectual property and a character that is not
Queer people do not need to get into norse gods, queer people need dialectical materialism.
To be entirely honest I find the idea that queer people need spirituality at all quite insulting, and the unfortunately widespread insistence that there's some metaphysical spiritual element to queerness is rather counterproductive and (to put it bluntly) really fucking annoying.

"Damn fine flask of estus."
I could do this all day. Apologies @tomb-mold
if I see one more "why age verification is bad" post that doesn't even bother to mention that locking young people out of huge sections of the public sphere - literally the stated goal and primary impact of this shit - is wrong in and of itself I will simply start hitting people with bricks
yes yes biometric data privacy blah blah adults can hypothetically by harmed by this too. what about the immediate and deliberate and not at all hypothetical harm to youth. why are you acting like a potential data leak about what your face looks like, which if it ever happened would at least be generally recognised as a problem, is a more serious issue than cutting millions of people off from information and community and public expression which is happening right now in the open with large scale support
it's got the stench of fucking "banned books week" on it. thousands of adults congratulating themselves for reading books literally no one is trying to stop them from reading while doing nothing to improve access for the young people who are the ones actually having those books made off-limits to them.

Began AAC by your recommendation and the music is really nice, I like the characters and the majority of trials have less moon logic than the original trilogy, but am I wrong in saying this game (two of them) suffers from Too Many Words? Idk it feels soo long and I get bored at times even though I am compelled by the mysteries. For example some sections of dialogue are needlessly long while not saying much
Am I misremembering the original AA or was that not the case there?
ive never heard anyone abbreviate it as aac so it took me a second i was just sitting here staring at this ask squinting. anyway you are absolutely not wrong at all. the games suffer from a huge amount of script bloat, it's their biggest problem by a significant margin. you could probably cut like 30% of the text of these games while not fundamentally changing the cases or greater narrative at all because of how repetitive it is. i have complained about this frequently and will likely continue to do so once my friends and i get back to our playthrough
to put it into its proper perspective, the great ace attorney adventures case 5, adventure of the unspeakable story, is 12 hours long when just played straight through no commentary.
the original phoenix wright: ace attorney for the gba (so just 1-4, no rise from the ashes) is in its entirety just shy of 9 hours when played straight through no commentary.
i think dgs1 could possibly have the worst pacing in the entire ace attorney franchse and i do include aa5+6 in that assessment although i never could make myself finish aa6 so take that with a grain of salt.
““Let us free Ireland,” says the patriot who won’t touch Socialism. Let us all join together and crush the brutal Saxon. Let us all join together, says he, all classes and creeds. And, says the town worker, after we have crushed the Saxon and freed Ireland, what will we do? Oh, then you can go back to your slums, same as before. Whoop it up for liberty! And, says the agricultural workers, after we have freed Ireland, what then? Oh, then you can go scraping around for the landlord’s rent or the money-lenders’ interest same as before. Whoop it up for liberty! After Ireland is free, says the patriot who won’t touch socialism, we will protect all classes, and if you won’t pay your rent you will be evicted same as now. But the evicting party, under command of the sheriff, will wear green uniforms and the Harp without the Crown, and the warrant turning you out on the roadside will be stamped with the arms of the Irish Republic. Now, isn’t that worth fighting for? And when you cannot find employment, and, giving up the struggle of life in despair, enter the poorhouse, the band of the nearest regiment of the Irish army will escort you to the poorhouse door to the tune of St. Patrick’s Day. Oh! It will be nice to live in those days! “With the Green Flag floating o’er us” and an ever-increasing army of unemployed workers walking about under the Green Flag, wishing they had something to eat. Same as now! Whoop it up for liberty!”
— James Connolly, Let Us Free Ireland! (1899)
“If you remove the English army to-morrow and hoist the green flag over Dublin Castle, unless you set about the organisation of the Socialist Republic your efforts would be in vain. England would still rule you. She would rule you through her capitalists, through her landlords, through her financiers, through the whole array of commercial and individualist institutions she has planted in this country and watered with the tears of our mothers and the blood of our martyrs.”
— James Connolly, Socialism and Nationalism (1897)
highkey i do think we need to start making convention artists feel shame for selling blind box merch lines. it's a completely anti-consumer anti-art way of trying to your bottom line up. just because we can't stop corporations from using the incentive structures of gambling for profit doesn't mean we should be chill with our peers doing the same
like so much of the defense of this is The Bandwagon Fallacy from the people doing it, or buyers who Do like blind boxes being like "i like being surprised/not having to pick!". as if you couldn't just say "give me dealer's choice" to the person you were buying a product from if you really want to buy something without knowing what you're getting. like its great that you like to gamble. it should be optional.
