A (CrossFit) reflection of 2012
The end of 2012 marks the full 12 months since I have started CrossFit. It has been a wonderful year to say the least.
So many PBs and firsts, yet there are many more to be achieved in the coming year. I've got the best coaches helping got where I am today, in terms of being an athlete. And, I couldn't have done all these without them. I can certainly say I am a better athlete than I could have ever imagined.
In terms of coaching, I have achieved as much as well. While still being enrolled in university, I took the part-time course to get certified as a registered personal trainer from October 2011-April 2012. Then, in May 2012, being a relative newbie in CrossFit, I decided to enrol into the CrossFit Level 1 Trainer course. I never looked back ever since. It was this time I started out as an intern coach. I personally find coaching athletes so much more fulfilling. Seeing them moving better and getting stronger definitely makes me feel proud to be part of their journey to become a better athlete. And just recently, I've got accredited as a Club Weightlifting/Sports Power Coach by the Australian Weightlifting Federation, as part of my journey to become a better coach. It was during the course, I've met with other coaches as passionate as I am in coaching athletes.
Last but not least, I'm so pleased to be given the opportunity to independently coach a WOD in my box. There's still so much to learn, and this is just the very beginning of a very exciting 2013 for me and my athletes.
