idk i just think the ultimate takeaway from the pitt should be that everyone, even the character(s) you like and identify with, has the capacity both to experience and to cause hurt and harm, especially when all these characters spend 12+ hours a day exposed to the visceral and vicarious trauma of human suffering and structural violence. the actual villain of the show is systemic injustice, but it matters that the love was there. it couldn’t change everything. it couldn’t save everyone. there were so many forces against it. but it still matters that the love was there. hope is a discipline!
