The girl’s laughter made his heart swell, and though it wouldn’t be enough to get rid of the overall ache there was in his chest (caused by a longing for home– for something more familiar), it would at least be enough to alleviate some of the pain.
He stands in attention when the girl requested for his assistance in gathering firewood, and though he wasn’t nearly as fast as she was, he picked up as much dried out twigs to the best of his ability. In the end, the other would be the one to have done most of the work, and he couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit of guilt for that.
But that was a concern for another time.
He claps when she had finally started a fire, the smile on his face never really leaving. “You’re amazing!” He says, “I wouldn’t be able to do any of this by myself.”
“You’ve been helping me all this time, and I don’t even know your name!” He takes the girl’s hand, completely oblivious to whether or not he was moving far too fast, and he gives it a good shake. “You can call me Black!”
Fire now started, the Manakete impaled the rabbit and held it over the burning pit from hell. While her other hand was being shaken by the boy, (who even shakes hands anymore?) Nowi let out another child-like giggle. He was pretty strange. There was no doubt about it. Something also felt off about him, but she couldn’t really explain what. Perhaps it was just her imagination..
“Nowi! It’s not a big deal, Black, don’t worry! I’m proud to help. A Shepherd’s motto and a--”
She fell silent. Nowi, who didn’t think of home until now, suddenly longed for her camp with her friends. Sure, Black was nice company and all, but she felt alone here. Alone in her own way, of course. If Nowi were to be stuck here for the rest of her life, she would watch all the friends she made her disappear. ... But now wasn’t the time for those thoughts.
“It’s a pleasure to help. Hey, the rabbit’s almost done, I hope at least, so you should settle down and I’ll split this thing. .. Somehow.”
«🌟» “Don’t worry your silly little head about it! Though I wouldn’t use your pillow tonight if I were you.” Giggling, the Manakete continued to pat down the male’s cape. “Almost as good as new!”
“Oh, I also suggest not going near Fredrick’s tent at all. Just a little friendly advice from your elder.”
It wasn’t that often that the two would talk, but when the two would it was interesting to say the least. “ Well, I wouldn’t mind dancing in front of you. It’s just that I have to get really comfortable with you first, I mean like friend wise. ”
“ I don’t get how you work, but alright. if I’m a sis then you make sure no forty year old man tries to feel my little sister tits. that’s what bro’s do.”

Lavender optics scanned the perimeter, carefully.. precise. She couldn’t miss anything or she would pay the penalty- death. A makeshift spear in hand, the Manakete took slow, even steps, listening to every sound the cavern made. It was just her luck to stumble upon an opening behind a waterfall. Believe it or not, the Manakete tended to trip and fall every now and then. Normally it resulted in a series of negative events, but currently, it seemed as if luck was in her favor for once. She could explore this place, loot, book it, and then high-tail it back to the village to gloat about her findings to Accelerator before selling it all to decorate their quaint hut.
For a place behind a waterfall, it was hot. Even in her bikini-styled top, Nowi was sweating like crazy. .. Okay, that was an exaggeration, but it was unbelievably warm. Something felt off, but she couldn’t place her finger on what. Although her instincts told her to book it, Nowi couldn’t bring herself to. Something about this place made her feel.. Kind of.. At home. It reminded her of her home, in a sense, a time where all of her Manakete friends lived near each other and frequently chased one another around while in their dragon forms. That was centuries ago. Nowi couldn’t even remember her best friend’s face.
Pressing forward, the emerald-haired maiden took a deep breath and prepared herself for the heat. Careless as always, Nowi didn’t watch where she stepped.. .. And down she went. Down, down, down, down.. Did this slope ever come to an end? It actually felt like decades had passed. Not like it mattered. The female still had another few thousand years left in her. Years Minutes passed before she finally landed hard on her backside. That was sure to bruise.
“GAH! First, I get stuck in this stupid place by these old hags, then I get stuck rooming with a cow, and now this happens?!” She stood up, patted her bottom, and stomped around, accidentally snapping her spear in half. Great. Juuust great. The slope looked like actual hell to climb. She was not going to leave empty handed. No way, no how.
Dropping the mood she had, Nowi took off her cape and folded it nicely, placing it on the ground next to the slope she had just rode down. Time to explore. Nowi’s day was just going to keep going down hill..
Did I mention it was hot? Cause, it was like, burning up in there. After cooling down, which honestly, I didn’t get to do, I finally decided to actually attempt to explore. Leaving my cape back to mark the dumb slope, I set off with just my bare hands as protection. There were many paths to take. Like, you wouldn’t believe it. So, I decided to go down the middle one. Luck was on my side for once.
I stumbled across a gold mine. Like, an actual gold mine. Chests were filled with rubies, sapphires- you name it. Golden statues decorated the room, countless artifacts- from who knows where- stationed in every corner-- it was a dream come true. Guess who’s going to be eating like kings tonight. That’s right. Adan, Hut 4, baby!
For a normal height, somewhat average weight girl, I’m pretty strong! I decided on what was worth more and finally settled on the chest. What could go wrong with a bunch of shinies and stuff? Right? Hauling the chest down the hallway, something caught my ear. Eye. Whatever. I don’t care. It sounded like whining. Whining? Whining. What could survive this heat here? Naga, I am burning up! However, I decided to go with it. Leaving the chest in the middle of the path, I decided to go investigate. .. I didn’t know I would regret it.
Widening her eyes, a gasp escaped her soft lips. She took a step.. Closer. Naga, something smelled horrendous. However, she was intrigued. Something made her want to come closer.. Luring her in.. She must press on.

Oh my god. I got a letter exactly like this in Louisville, KY. The exact same wording and everything. I threw mine out because there was no letterhead or information and I thought it was just a scam but I had no idea that it was this bad. I have no idea how they found me. Please be safe out there.
[Accelerator felt as in a vein in his head was about to pop because he couldn’t believe this girl was really that dense.]

[Even if he had his powers, he wouldn’t harm a little girl just out of anger but he really missed his powers right now because they would allow him to enclosure himself into a silent void where he didn’t have to deal with annoying situations just like right now.]
«🌟» “.. Oh. I knew something was off. Nobody would’ve purchased a statue that looked like a cow! Heheh. Moo,” Nowi retorted, giggling at her own joke. Ha. Cows. White and black. Funny. Stretching, Nowi scooted even closer to the male, finally in range to touch him. Flicking his forehead, the Manakete let out a devious giggle and quickly moved back to her original spot.
“So I’m stuck with a cow? What’re you even doing here? Did you not see ‘Property of Nowi’? It’s obviously like riiiiiiiiiight there.
Kinda.”
She pointed at the front door, letting out a tsk as she stood up and placed her hands on her boyish hips. “Some people just don’t know how to read! Gosh, you are te-rri-bleeeeee.”
Black once again found himself in a state of confusion as the girl let him go. Before he could even say anything, she was already zipping here and there within the forest. Nonetheless, he stayed put as she had asked of him, and when she had returned with a poor rabbit in her hand his eyes widened in surprise.
…. Before he began laughing.
It was then where he realized what the girl was trying to do. She was apologizing for that misunderstanding from earlier, wasn’t she? This was going a bit further than she had to, and he was sure to bring up paying her back for all this effort later on, but as the girl continued to go about preparing him a meal all he could do was stand back and watch.
“You really don’t have to do all of this for me! It’s okay!”
«🌟» “W-What’re you laughing at, tubby?!” She barked, narrowing her eyes at him. Pouting, the female crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out at him.. .. At least he appreciated it. She didn’t make him upset or anything.. A wide smile appeared on the thousand year old’s face before she, herself, started laughing. It was a genuine laugh- the ones that felt nice to let out.
“It’s no problem..! Really! Hey, why don’t you go get some more fire wood and we’ll set up camp here? I’ll cook us up some grub. Sound good?” Nowi continued her attempt to start a fire. Honestly, this would’ve been a lot easier if the old ladies er, witches, didn’t take her Dragonstone. Moments passed before smoke finally began to appear, and in a matter of seconds, Nowi successfully started a fire. Add that to her Girl Scouts’ list of Achievements.
