I have seen this take knocking around. Something like, "any concession at all would entail revealing numbers that the streaming services have never revealed, and that may in turn reveal basis for legal action"

Because like, the streaming numbers for a top 10 show (supernatural) either have to be high enough that the writers should’ve been paid residuals, or low enough that the shareholders are being defrauded

I think the reality is probably a bit of both. We know from numbers that were revealed in the past that towards the Investors they like to play up the numbers. I vaguely remember hearing that 5 minutes of watch time would be counted as having watched the movie. I bet they apply a very different metric for paying writers. If they had to be open about those numbers they would have to find some middle ground that doesn't get them sued from all sides.

HPV is linked to cancer wherever it's found. We associate it with cervical cancer, but it's linked to uterine, ovarian, throat, tongue, mouth, penile, testicular, AND anal cancers.

The vaccine has never been linked to increased sex in teenagers or unsafe sex practices.

reblogging again to say that i (39f) asked my gynecologist and got the vaccine because of this post! thanks, op! i had never asked before bc i was previously considered "too old." and i don't think they would've asked me had i not spoken up! i know it can be difficult to self-advocate in the doctor's office but i strongly encourage ppl to always ask questions! my doc (very nice lady whose brain seems to be going 1000 miles a minute so i don't rly hold it against her for not asking me) was like, "GREAT, YES, THANK YOU for asking" and was glad to hear that this helpful post was circulating!

Organizers from the Tampa 5 with @tampabaysds the Florida 4 with @sfl_arc and the Young Lords with @newerayounglordsflorida are joining us for a panel on political repression hosted by our chapter!

Florida is becoming an epicenter for the repression of mass movements and organizers, especially those who are BIPOC and LGBTQ, are facing violence from the state as well as from the far right.

We'll discuss the repression our panelists have faced and are currently facing, what it means to fight for bodily autonomy and public education in the era of Ron DeSantis, and how we can begin to fight back with a working class movement!

I won’t speak for all liberals, but I’d like to see a future where it isn’t a big deal for a woman in full modesty garb to sit next to a drag queen in NYC. It’s become a bit of a sensation, but her and I were just existing. The freedom to simply be yourself in a sea of people who aren’t like you is a freedom we all deserve.
