Lights still danced around in your vision even though you left the red carpet ten minutes ago. You did your best to blink them away as Michael led you by the hand through the throng of other celebrities and philanthropists who were in attendance that night.

Me and my bonded skimwinng, AtroĂŒ, approached the island of the Metkayina alongside my parents, the rest of my clan followed suit against the current. I emerge from the teal ocean, water cascading down my face and torso as I turn to face my mother & father. The shore is just up ahead, I see a large numbers of teal heads start to makeout in my line of vision. Iâve been eager the entire length of this journey to see my long distance best friend Tsyireya, and hopefully ignore Aoânung and all his futile attempts at flirting with me. I also missed the Sully kids, truly, shell collecting with precious Tuktirey, meditating with Kiri and practicing sparring with Neteyam and Loâak. It felt like it had been months since I last hung out with them, my tsakarem training taking up most of my time and also not always being able to travel to the Metkayina as often as I wanted.
I am a skilled hunter and a patient healer, at least I thought so. I did not need a mate and I certainly didnât want one promised for me like Iâm some prize to be married off too. I am more than capable of ruling my people without the help of another mate. I seriously canât catch a break with all the courting suggestions my parents make, ugh!
Well I donât think itâs all that bad, I just never had the time to click with someone in that way. But I am picky and my parents do want the best for me, someone worthy enough, if they even exist.

I wait for his response his eyes go as big as saucers and it looks like he almost canât breathe. Fortunately he remembers how to breathe and answers.

In the distance, the festival music begins playing and the torches begin to light up simultaneously making the beach illuminate with a bright hue of oranges and yellow lights reflecting across the shore and pavilion. Voices and drumming being echoed from the across the docks for all ears to hear. I take this as the perfect opportunity.
I step closer almost invading his personal bubble to where are nose are barely touching. I look up at him batting my lashes, the size difference in height clearly visible. I reach to tilt his chin down to meet my gaze with my index finger and smirk my fangs glinting.
âWould you like to dance with me Roxtoâ
I wait for his response his eyes go as big as saucers and it looks like he almost canât breathe. Fortunately he remembers how to breathe and answers.
âI would love tooâ he breathes like heâs been holding that in since the start of the evening smiling sheepishly.
âGood, now follow me pretty boyâ I say teasingly taking his massive wrist and guiding him to the dance pavilion my hips swaying as the beads on my loin cloth and top create a clinking noise with every step.
âLead the way..â he murmurs his eyes burning holes into my figure as I continue to guide him to the tribal circle where all the dancers are. Letâs see where this night takes us.
