Pope Francis on Monday met with an Italian initiative aimed at offering support to unemployed and underemployed youth, saying their responsi
The Pope said work which allows for freedom, creativity, participation and mutual support helps workers "express and enhance" their dignity.
"Let us not lose sight of the urgency of reaffirming this dignity! It belongs to each and every one of us. .. When there is no work, dignity is at risk, as unemployment not only prevents you from putting food on the table; it also makes you feel unworthy of earning a living."
The Roman Pontiff observed how young people today have fallen victim to unemployment, not only affecting their ability to sustain themselves, but also promoting feelings of unworthiness.
"How many of them have given up looking for work, resigned to continual rejection or the indifference of a society that rewards only the usual privileged few – even if they are corrupt – and obstructs those who deserve affirmation."
"The reward seems to go to those who are sure of themselves, even if this security is gained through corruption. Work is not a gift to be kindly granted to the select few: it is a right for all!"
Pope Francis lauded the Policoro Project for representing a "sign of real hope for many people who have not resigned themselves but have instead decided to commit themselves courageously to creating or improving their opportunities for work."
"Continue to promote initiatives for participation for young people in a community and participatory form," he encouraged them.
there is hate against those who are doing better socially financially
A Bengaluru man’s Reddit post went viral on social media, as per which, he was ‘done defending Bangalore’, despite allegedly being a ‘Kannad
" I’ve been spoken to rudely by auto drivers, metro staff, and others in similar public-facing roles. A lot of them behave like they hate their jobs and are constantly irritated—like they’re waiting for a chance to lash out. What’s even more frustrating is that I’ve been treated very differently depending on how I’m dressed. Ironically, the more well-dressed or ‘put together’ I look, the worse the attitude becomes. On days when I’m in a simple kurta, with oiled hair, same calm body language—no issues. But when I look like I belong to a higher income group, that’s when the friction starts ...
It feels like some people here are frustrated with how the city has grown, and they take that frustration out on others who have grown along with it-especially fellow Kannadigas who are now doing well financially. There’s this strange mix of entitlement and insecurity
All the hate crimes faced by Indians abroad, migrant people of other states in Mumbai, Bangalore etc are because there are lots of people in any place of this world who use hate as a method of survival and undue importance. They want to be given work, financial reward and respect just because they belong to a particular place, region, language, race, or religion. They want to judge all OTHERS in different yardstick, whereas world over, liberal people appreciate, work, ethics, and usefullness to society.
When life started, from randomly wandering, lifeless SPACE DUST to a living ameoba, or bacteria or other basic life form, the first thought was I AM SEPARATE FROM THE WORLD, I HAVE A BODY TO FEED, I HAVE A MIND TO BE MADE HAPPY. All other aspects like family, society, God, country etc came later. An ameoba used to trap food in this body and digest the food to survive, like wise Hunter gatherers used to kill animals to feed themselves. Thereby an Aemoba thought it was different from the nature and other particles and it need to survive.
Later when society stated to have a family and other groupings of people, they started excluding others. There is always a dual-aspect, and multiple aspects to life. The hunter gatherers had their proceedures for sociallising, to have their society and other society, the agriculturalists had their proceedures, their set of families to share work. Later they found they can GROW more if others are made to work hard, whereas they can benefit by the hard work of others. This exploitiation of work continued till the INDUSTRIAL revolution, when the European society felt they can manufacture daily needs on a mass level and profit more, for which they needed EDUCATED LABOUR. Till Industrial revolution, all societies European, African, Arabian, Chinese all had some sort of Grading and Exploitation of labour / Slavery.
Now because of universal education, direct exploitation is not possible. At the same time there is a need to preserve law, wherein hard earned property of generations, is not snathched from a family, by Robinhoods. Those who are hard working, creative, talented to invent, or do management, should be rewarded. Those who are not participating or contributing to the welfare of society, need not be given luxury like car and big house. At the same time all persons should be given oppurtunity to study, earn and live a respectable life.
This clash of expectations alongwith a common goal for most of the population, results in huge social tensions.
Many Social leaders are using this hate and divide to promote their BEAUTIFUL profile as a leader, claiming they are compassionate, cultured, whereas others are crude morons. In private these beautiful leaders are making huge personal fortune, and treat their juniors, employees bad

THOSE WHO MOVE FORWARD AND THOSE WHO MOVE SIDEWAYS
America needs more tradespeople rather than “LGBTQ Harvard graduates”, Karoline Leavitt has said. Speaking on Fox News, the White House Pres
During the 1970s onwards the western society / USA / Europe and were trying to project Elitist models where the Literate, Economically developed countries and their citizens were shown to be head and shoulders above the citizens of developing countries. The western universities explored bold themes and started questioning social / spiritual norms, it was fashionable to enjoy life, party and not great to be falling in line with normal family values.
when a person moves towards a goal, they tend to move forward like a journey on the road - to a specific destination. When another person is in a mood to enjoy and explore life, they tend to stop and look around the beauty around and the oppurtunites to be happy.
The first person in search of destination will move FORWARD to wards his destination, he may observe the experiences in the side of the road, but generally he negotiates the other objects in the way to his destination. The second person has not firm idea of destination, seeks to look around, look SIDEWAYS, reduce or increase his speed to observe and seek oppurtunities. Both are necessary part of the society, no one is more important.
In society also, when conservative people just keep moving to a routine destination, the liberal people tend to look around , move sideways. The people moving forward may succed in manufacturing, creating new products, new economic ideas, new methods in sports etc. The people moving sideways, may be showing more love, more entertainment spirit, more creative ideas in poetry, more sympathy.
Harvard is right in exploring new ideas, but Karoline Leavitt is also right that society needs people who work.
Society need many people who will do the physical work, accounting work, management work, logistics work, scientific work.
Soceity also needs entertainment, people with more sympathy, out of the box thinking.
Some professions like Film stars, Media, Advocates etc. tend to question and tend to present an opinion which is different from the normal social norms. They also speak for people who commit violence, crime, use drugs, etc. But if every one keeps questioning and becomes liberal enough to ignore or accept illegal, not-moral behaviour, THEN THE WHOLE SOCIETY GRADUALLY STARTS MOVING SIDEWAYS, the police, judiciary, media, films all start to be compassionate with those planning heists and violence.
If politicians who keep talking eloquently with eulogy for poor, socially downtrodden, underdogs - IN PUBLIC, but keep misappropriating public money like Latin American & African Dictators, then the society will not have peace, law and order and will not prosper. At the same time soceity will be facing issues if we have too idealist Chinese soviet, Taliban , Iran like Dictator, who only think rules

Trace the history of slavery and abolition through the ages, from the days of ancient Egypt and Rome to the birth of the anti-slavery moveme
During the early times of human civilization people and families looked after themselves. HUNTERS AND GATHERERS OF FOREST FOOD
During this very early Hunting days, People had the INDIVIDUAL freedom to hunt, gather, work, love ... do what they want, there was no restriction.
Later people settled down by doing cultivation of food and livestock animals. For this cultivation and animals rearing they needed knowledgeable practices.
Group of FAMILIES may be Kith and Kim relatives, later identified common interests, work practices, and started living in GROUPS for MUTUAL benefits. These family groups shared procedures and ideas only amongst themselves. Thus started the practice of EXCLUSION, where family wisdom and practices medicines food etc were kept only for benefit of FAMILY members - not others.
Family and exclusion are the beginning points of good aspects of civilisation& knowledge, but family is also part of the causes of SOCIAL EXCLUSION Especially work procedures, marriage and places of worship.
Later the EXCLUSIVE FAMILY groups put conditions to the normal unorganised people OUTSIDE the family -
IF common people wanted benefits like knowledge of food, Farming, animal rearing etc. they have to obey the people FAMILIES with exclusive knowledge
Gradually the previligedfamilies decided the Rules for land ownership, Labour, wages and benefits. Gradually these rules became tools for domination. Later Kings and religious priests also practiced EXCLUSION and enslaving common people. This is feudalism.

White people were still being bought and sold as slaves in the Ottoman Empire, decades after American blacks were freed.

From Feudalism to the Industrial Revolution 👇🏻
Before the advent of modern democracy, monarchs ( fuedal heads) ruled over all land and people in western European society, and the subjects had no rights nor liberty.
In feudalism, the nobility and the clergy held sway over the peasants, merchants, and others of low classes. The landowners (fiefs) were the only class allowed to benefit from the labour of the masses (serfs). There was a strict hierarchical divide between aristocrats—who controlled land—and the peasants who lived on that land and cultivated it for the aristocrat. There was massive economic inequality between the masses and the aristocratic minority.
During fuedal era the society was not organised as big nations, but as smaller Feudal units, collecting tax and forcing common people to act as Labour. Most places religion and might of kings, also was used to extract cheap labour from common people.
The nature of Some of people, ( irrespective of family, race, religion - even nature of siblings may differ) is that they will not do PHYSICAL labour, creating physically beautiful art or utensils & other useful things. There are OTHER set of people who don’t like to apply their MIND hard, do big calculations or study analytical data for research and analysis. Both these set of people are ready to fight war, die or kill many, but do not like to work. BOTH These types of people will try to build empires and enslave other hard working & creative people
In the 14th century, a new movement began to take shape, which sought to challenge the social order. The Renaissance started as a revolt against the dogmatism of the Catholic Church, which sought control over the arts and sciences and used them as religious tools. The Renaissance saw a revival of humanism, which emphasised human life as the most fundamental value above all social and religious institutions. The spread of the printing press in Europe in the mid-15th century allowed for the circulation of written literature, which in turn led to advances in political and scientific thought. This would pave the way for the development of the ‘scientific method’, the Protestant revolution, and the reformation of the Catholic Church.
This period was also characterised by the colonisation by European powers of the American continent. Some European imperial powers such as Portugal and Spain started buying slaves from Africa to work on plantations in the new colonies. These changes destabilised the European social structure. Due to the increasing importance of trade, the merchant class in Europe gained political power. The feudal hierarchy began to fall apart, and around 1685, the Age of Enlightenment would begin. This era gets its name from its emphasis on rationalism, science, and logic. It saw the end of feudalism and the rise of nation-states. Philosophers like John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau proclaimed that the individual was paramount. The notion of human rights became popular, as did the idea that nations, rulers, and monarchs should guarantee human rights and those governments that violated these rights were illegitimate.
Further, Adam Smith proclaimed that ‘the Wealth of Nations’ was built on free trade, calling it the source of Europe’s economic prosperity.
Monarchic power was diluted in all European societies. Britain adopted direct democracy in the form of a Parliament. The ideas of the Enlightenment were further crystallised with the American and French revolutions. With the invention of the cotton gin and the steam engine, this period also saw the beginning of the industrial revolution and the shift of a large section of the workforce from farming to industry.
It was during the early stages of the French Revolution in the late 18th century that the political terms “left” and “right” were coined. As the newly formed national assembly debated how much authority the king should retain, the progressive, anti-monarchy faction sat to the left of the presiding officer, while the conservative supporters of the monarchy sat to the right. Over time, the terms ‘left-wing’ and ‘right-wing’ became synonymous with ‘progressive’ and ‘conservative’, respectively. Generally, left-wing politics tends to challenge social norms and hierarchies, while right-wing politics advocates for those social hierarchies. The rise of industrial society and the Age of Enlightenment did see economic and political power move away from the monarchs. Even so, power remained concentrated in the hands of a few. Britain and the US had democracy, but voting was limited to a small number of “white” landowning aristocratic men. The ‘wealth of nations’ was increasing, but that wealth remained with a small percentage of the population, while many starved, their children dying within a year of birth. Most of those that did survive started working in assembly lines, some from the age of three.
There was also the transatlantic slave trade, which ripped over 30 million Africans from their homes, sold them as property and made them labour without any payment till their death. Families in slavery had no means of saving themselves or their descendants from that fate.
The slave trade was the second stage of a triangular trade in which arms, textiles, and wine were shipped from Europe to Africa, enslaved people from Africa to the Americas, and sugar and coffee from the Americas to Europe. At the US’s inception in 1776, all 13 of its colonies used slave labour. In the northern states, they worked as house servants, artisans, and labourers. The southern states developed an agricultural economy dependent on slave labour. Slavery was so pivotal to the southern states that during the founding of the Union, slaves were considered by the US Constitution to count as three-fifths of a ‘person’ in terms of electoral college-representation, increasing the political power of the southern states without giving slaves any political franchise. With the invention of the cotton gin in 1793, demand for slaves in the southern states skyrocketed, and slavery became a polarising issue between the Northern and Southern states, eventually leading to the American civil war which ended in 1865.
