i think it's unfortunate that though games like the sims and the new tomodachi life are getting lauded for their lgbt representation (which is great and necessary, don't get me wrong), i haven't seen much discussion about how they severely lack any kind of disability representation. no wheelchairs or other mobility aids like canes or crutches, no amputee options. sims 4 only recently added blood glucose monitors and hearing aids in create-a-sim, but there's no gameplay functionality to go with them. i was trying to make a disabled oc in tomodachi life and i just think it sucks that lots of folks still can't make a character that truly represents them, even in 2026.
the thing about the You Don't Have To Hand It To The Pope situation that makes me really insane is the sheer number of people going "oh okay so now the pope is responsible for everything bad the catholic church has ever done? all of that is his fault?🙄🙄🙄" as if we're talking about some random schmuck with a rosary and not the world's #1 head catholic bitch in charge in his fancy little dipshit hat sitting on a throne made of pilfered riches and the bones of people who were killed for his god. like yeah actually that guy kind of does need to be held accountable for the past and present crimes of the organization he's in charge of actually. that's sort of what being the boss entails.

1 [フィー] セティ・・・ 2 セティお兄ちゃんでしょ!
1 [fee] ced... 2 wait, that's ced!
3 [セティ] おまえは・・・フィーか!? 4 どうした! 5 おまえがなぜここに?
3 [ced] wait, you're...fee!? 4 what happened! 5 what are you doing here?
6 [フィー] お兄ちゃんを捜しに来たの 7 だってシレジアを出たきり 8 帰ってこないんだもの!
6 [fee] i came looking for you, obviously! 7 i mean, ever since you left silesse 8 no one's seen hide nor hair of you!
9 [セティ] すまない・・・ 10 父上を捜すうちに 11 マンスターに流れ着いたのだが 12 この国の人達があまりに哀れで 13 帰れなくなってしまった・・・
9 [ced] yeah, sorry... 10 i was searching for dad and before i knew it 11 things led me here to manster. 12 the people here are in such a sorry state, 13 i couldn't just abandon them...
14 [フィー] お兄ちゃんらしいね・・・ 15 いいのよ、あたしは 16 そんなお兄ちゃんが大好きだから
14 [fee] yeah, that's my brother, alright... 15 well, i don't care! 16 that's what we love about you, anyway.
17 [セティ] おまえは解放軍に参加したのか?
17 [ced] so, you've joined the liberation army?
18 [フィー] うん、セリス様の力になりたくて
18 [fee] yep, i wanted to help prince seliph.
19 [セティ] そうか・・・ 20 やっぱりおまえも母上の子だな・・・ 21 困っている人を見ると 22 ほうっておけないようだ
19 [ced] i see... 20 you really are just like mom... 21 whenever you see someone in pain, 22 you just can't leave well enough alone.
23 [フィー] そういうお兄ちゃんだって・・・ 24 でも、フュリー母さまはかわいそう 25 わたし、お父さまを許せない!
23 [fee] that's you you're describing... 24 ugh, poor mother. 25 i don't know about you, but i'll never forgive father!
26 [セティ] 父上か・・・あの人は不思議な人だ 27 いったい何をかんがえているのか・・・
26 [ced] yeah, dad is...well, he's a mystery. 27 i just don't know what he's thinking...

translation notes & questions
2 「セティお兄ちゃん」 - throughout, fee calls ced "seti-oniichan" ("older brother ced"), but in the tradition of countless annoyed translators before me, this is so awful to hear in english that i'm just removing it. basically, this word is both an honorific and a familiar term, so we can tell she loves him and looks up to him.
6 「...の」 - i translated this emphatic particle as "obviously", which is a bit dramatic but still in keeping with the usual uses of the particle (i.e., as explanatory).
8 「...だもの」 - fee uses this particle to protest how ced hasn't come home in so long, so i used a funny idiom to show that she's (at least a little) fed up.
10 「父上」 - ced and fee use different words to refer to their parents. for lewyn, ced uses chichiue, which is an old-fashioned honorific and can be used either as a regular noun or as a form of address. it's respectful, but it's also a bit masculine. fee uses otо̄sama, which is old-fashioned and very respectful (almost verging on "my lord father" in this context). using it makes her sound more filial and ladylike, despite her vocally hating lewyn way more than ced does. this same contrast applies to how they talk about erinys. basically, this is an instance of gendered speech.
10 「...うちに」 - this just means "during" or "while", but i improvised a "before i knew it" to emphasize that going to manster wasn't part of the plan.
13 「帰れなくなってしまった」 - ced literally says "i couldn't just go home", but i decided to translate the implication of that, i.e., "i couldn't go home without helping".
16 「そんなお兄ちゃんが大好きだから」 - this definitely means "that's what i love about you", but for the sake of fee's dignity i changed it to the royal "we". justice for anime girls made to say weird things about their brothers!
25 「わたし」 - fee here emphasizes how she will never forgive their father, which does technically leave room for ced to disagree with her (though she probably doesn't expect him to, and of course he doesn't).
phew, kind of an emotional whirlwind from fee. i would be that angry too, no wonder she's getting so many crits (lol). as always, feel free to message me with thoughts or questions! sources below the cut~
