- This is the take on homecoming in my Au, Peter was supposed to be here since he's living with the Chasitys’ After all he doesn't want to go home with his parents because there are many things about Ted that Peter still doesn't want to look at, and that way he can keep an eye on Grace (Peter is afraid that Grace will suddenly die). But I still don't know how to draw Pete.
-The flowers Jason gives to Grace are Gardenias, which primarily symbolize purity, innocence, joy, and secret love, and especially the red ones, are a way of saying "I love you." Jason woke Stacy up at 2:00 am because he was in a panic, not knowing what to bring to the Chasity house to pick up Grace, and arriving empty-handed didn't sit well with Jason.

-Mark has a tradition of buying a big bouquet of flowers for the most important women in his life (Karen and Grace) on their birthdays (or random days), so Mark was pretty pleased to see Jason arriving with flowers.
-Mark and Karen cried after this because they felt their little girl was growing too fast (Mark cried the most).
-Karen made Grace's first plush toy from scratch, which was a bunny. This was the first thing they gave to baby Grace.
-Grace has a ton of plushies in her room, mostly because Mark keeps buying new ones, Grace had to donate some because she didn't have more space, one of her favorites is a big plushie of a Saint Bernard dog that she has in her bed.
-Karen didn't have many cravings or dizziness during her pregnancy, but Mark did. Karen liked to joke that Mark was the one who was pregnant because of the symptoms
-When Grace was a month old, Karen had to drag Mark to the car, because he didn't want to go to work since that meant he had to go far from his baby.
- Grace's first word was octopus (although she said it like “to-pus”), Mark and Karen didn't know why she would say that for her first word, because they didn't have anything related to an octopus, so if anyone asks, they always say that Grace's first word was mamma/pappa
i think one of School Spirits' biggest missed opportunities is just not ??? going into the identity trauma that Yuri SURELY HAS.
because how did they make a Russian-American teenager that was growing up during peak Red Scare, anti-Russian nationalism and NOT GIVE HIM ISSUES OVER THAT????
like i really feel like his scar in the greenhouse should've been about his trauma and struggle with his identity during a time where being Russian automatically made you untrustworthy because of all the nationalist propaganda being put out about Russian spies and whatnot, and how surely Yuri must've grown up feeling othered and shunned by other kids his age just because of his name and the fact that hes half Russian. surely that was difficult.
and yet, they gave him ZERO cultural aspects that really showed hes Russian, other than making him pretend he didnt speak English for 40 years and then once he comes out of hiding its like everyone forgot about that part of him. like i really feel like they could've done a LOT MORE with his character regarding his identity
Hold my hand and hear me out: extremely lowkey but devoted metalhead Paul Matthews. He hated the single show he went to at the Slaughtered Pig and never went back but he regularly listens to the shitty CD he bought when he was there (unfortunately he visited pre-Needy Beast; I'm picturing this as college Paul having one single night of daring exploration and immediately realizing that the crowds, smells, and volume really aren't his thing).
Ted yanks out his ear buds at work to bug him (it works, Paul is rightfully mad) but gets distracted from what he was going to say because he can hear the faint screaming and wtf are you listening to??? Everyone who meets Paul assumes he just listens to classical music or NPR or something. And he does! But he also enjoys the sound of metal - there's nothing better on a bad sensory day than blocking out the rest of the world via a Gojira-white noise-thunderstorm concoction in your headphones.
