The most terrifying part of today's Re: Dracula is not the howling of the wolves or the wall-climbing lizard fashion. Instead, it Karim Kronfli shifting from the stereotypical Transylvanian Dracula accent to a perfect RP British for one single line- "Welcome the coming; speed the parting guest."

From a watsonian perspective, we know that Jonathan has spent the past two months helping the Count with his English. Here we see how well those lessons have paid off.

That's terrifying.

Listen I understand why many people find Jon's paranoia thoughtless or even stupid. And I also get the people defending and justifying it (me included I'm a full time Jon defender). But in all the discussions about Jon's behaviour everyone seems to forget that no matter how irrational his actions may have seemed at the time, in the end he was literally right. One of his coworkers WAS an imposter. Someone in his close environment DID kill Gertrude. The world WAS out to get him specifically. Calm and rational reasoning be damned my man was spot on

i love that all fiction podcasts are lumped into a big fandom blob even though they’re all so different. and the funny part is we haven’t even listen to all the same podcasts.

I like the fandom blob! It makes audiodrama feel like one large community, and it makes it easier for shows from first-time creators to self-market and for listeners to organically find new shows.

Ah, the obsession with the funny little podcast (and perhaps the Magnus Protocol) continues, this time with the imagination of Gerry Keay - people's favourite goth and a famous burner of books. Maybe not my best work, but definitely an interesting one.

S1 Somathin Jims

Frankensteined him together from a few others designs--a lot of inspo from the one and only Lunehowls, and I got the idea of purple from Radladrobin. Purple's a nice color on him!!

The Marking of Jonathan Sims (Spoilers to Season 4)

I started my Jonathan Sims scar chart early in my TMA listening (hence Jon's shorter series 1-2 hair that I can't bring myself to change...). The amount of pain and injury this man's body is forced to absorb is just gutwrenching. 😫💔

A couple notes + closeups under the cut. Click for higher quality!

The Buried: Jon mentions getting scraped while being squeezed in the tunnels. I don't tend to see that in scar charts so I represented that here, mostly on his shoulders and chest.

The Spiral: I analyzed before how I believe Michael's stab wound appears (to Martin) to be self-inflicted. Hence the placement on Jon's forearm.

The Vast: Wind burn on his arms and face. Not too visible on my chart, but that kind of wound heals more easily, especially with moisturizing.

The Stranger: Speaking of moisturizing, apparently too much lotion can end up drying out your skin by taking away the body's ability to create its own oils. So yeah. This might have happened, who knows. Nikola isn't exactly an expert on human health. I also included bruises from the zip ties or ropes used on him, and flencing lines from Nikola marking out where he would be skinned for the ritual. (I write this all with a straight face but know it's killing me inside..)

The Dark: Looking at the Dark Sun fucked up his eyes for a while, but I think the Eye eventually kept Jon's physical eyes clean of another Fear's influence. So I subtly represented the Dark's mark on him with some black tendrils and discoloration around the side of his eyes.

The End: Jon died in the Unknowing. I cannot stress this enough. The explosion killed his human body and only the eldritch one remained. 💔💔💔 My headcanon is that he was killed from blast injuries to his back and side, including burns and shrapnel wounds. Not too visible on this chart, but I have another artwork coming up that will show how I envision this scar.

Regarding Jon's body shape: I myself am a very small nonbinary person and I hella projected on Jon. And he is canonically small and physically weak. A good friend of mine called him a pretty academic twink and an absolute disaster man, which pretty much captures my headcanon for his physicality.
