Thought of the day, if Martin wasn't there after Jon returned from the coma, Jon would've 100% ended up willingly going with Elias's plan.

I'm insane about that because Jon, with severe self-confidence issues and desperate need for acknowledgment and validation, returns from a coma to find the everyone is treating him like a monster. The only person who gives him any sort of companionship is Daisy, and only because she's a monster herself. And he's just so lost with so much knowledge and 0 understanding.

And then there's Martin who's the only one Jon knows still cares for him, and Jon just puts all his focus on him, uses him as an emotional pillar because he's desperate for anyone to accept him. To care for him, and Martin can give him that. So he loves him.

Now imagine if Jon didn't have that pillar, and the only validation he receives, the only approval, the only acceptance and even pride comes from the one man who was Jon's superior in everything. He's his boss, he's the paragon of elegance and professionalism, he knows more about their god than Jon, he knows more about everything.

And with no purpose, with no reason, with no moral compass that's fueled by the care for another person, how could Jon have rejected Elias or Jonah? When Elias reverently tells him of the new world they'll create, of their place over it and all the knowledge and fear he can feed off without the guilt, when he offers him acknowledgment and freedom, how could Jon possibly reject him?
