what are friends for, really
Random post but it always annoyed me with people called Walter weak or a p*ssy for getting scared during the Shadelight part of Fable 3. Do people not understand he has PTSD surrounding caves and the dark?
Guess what?! The Crawler represents BOTH of those and it’s talking to him. Y’all really think he’s weak for freaking out during a trigger?
Also for those who say it didn’t break the Hero. Y’all. The Hero of Brightwall is the player character. Of course it isn’t.
Exactly! They tell you right off the bat that he doesn’t like small/cramped spaces and especially small cramped DARK places. He points out that he hates caves long before and he’s making it clear that he knows he HAS to go through these with you because he’s not going to abandon you even though he knows you could handle yourself in them, he walks with you anyways! And then when you’re both stuck in the cave in Aurora his PTSD symptoms go into full swing to the point it’s meant to panic the player with “We need the light!” And “we can’t get out!” then when the Crawler is trying to attack you both in the desert Walter’s inner thoughts STRAIGHT UP TELL YOU HE ALMOST DIED TRAPPED INSIDE A CAVE IN! He was running out of air in a cramped dark small section of a cave and watched his friends/comrades die first one by one yet HE managed to make it out and outlast them. Not only would that be horrifically traumatic if he was alone in general, but watching your fellow soldiers who you’ve become friends with drop like flies from starvation/lack of water/lack of air slowly but surely only for you to just make it out? Yeah HES GONNA BE FUCKED UP ABOUT IT AND HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE!
Crawler mentioned,
so of course I was summoned, and I wanna add to this and say that a lot of people think that it didn't bother the Hero Of Brightwall but Walter tells us this
Shadelight, as much as I love it
ABSOLUTELY
freaked them BOTH the absolute FUCK out.
I love my husband (The Crawler) but he is a FREAKY motherfucker and I fully agree Walter had EVVVVERY right to be freaking out.
The Crawler is an eldritch nightmare monster wdym people think Walter is weak and a coward for being freaked out by an
ELDRITCH NIGHTMARE MONSTER
Recurring Maze trauma when Weaver runs off to the Guild Woods to hide from the Hero of Oakvale and proves himself to be just one more cowardly old man afraid of death 🙃

Talking about fable lore is wild because one second its like "Theres an annual chicken kicking contest that you can win a fun hat :)" and then its "The children of Oakvale somehow got the dark seal and it made them violent to the point they murdered one of their classmates and their teacher, who is implied to be very unwell herself, in her panicked frenzied state covered it up by hiding her in a cursed toy chest, thus leading to the birth of chesty" then immediately its like "hehe, die you know theres a penis potion :)"
I think often about the fact that canonically Sparrow only told Walter that he would eventually need to take HOBW out of the castle, but also fully expected him to bring Jasper with him and so planned for him to be manning the sanctuary.
Always Looking Over Your Shoulder
what is your favorite fable game and why?
i love that so far all of our reasons are nostalgia we are so valid
Derek: As a friend of the sheriff, the shop keepers will give you discounts. Same goes for your sister!
Barnum: look at you! All grown up and a proper adventurer, your sister must be so proud.

The fable series is like "what if there was a magic bloodline of nonverbal/semiverbal autistics who have to save the world over and over?" and I'm like 'WOAG What if......'
the inherited chaos gene
I know it's a 15 year old game at this point, but it would be so funny if you could just casually give belle the archeologist the other two divinity gems.
Hero of Bowerstone: oh yeah do you want these two other funky gems i got? Idk what else to do with them :/
Belle, who has spent at least ten years trying to find the Archon's Dream and this scruffy weirdo she's been working with has the other two divinty gems in their pocket:
Anyway, I find it so funny how the people of Albion fo not care about being respectful to the dead. Not only will the disrespect the dead, but they'll also write it on their tombstones, fuck you.
