A feral wench in my 30s, baby and cat wrangler, woodlouse enthusiast, and a writer with a bakery day job.
I write speculative, weird as all fuck, epic dark fantasy fiction, with acid western/anti western, heavy on the horror and scifi influences, unconventional characters, complex character drama, and the occasional monster fucking, naturally.
Current working projects:
The Last Wild Place (Part One of the Vilư LƔta saga): a speculative epic fantasy weird/acid western with bandidos, drug lords, sex priestesses and giant monsters, with a quest to cross terrifying desert for an ancient secret preserved in the mountains.
The Whale God's Wife: a space fantasy about a one-armed barbarian noblewoman held hostage amidst a war, hunted by cosmic horrors, and haunted by remnants of the dead god who "lives" in her prosthetic
The Gilded Comet, a prequel novella to The Whale God's Wife.
Sanguine Express: a steampunk fantasy, wherein a sad, pathetic vampire man violently hunts down those who have stolen his lover, a sex-worker known as Pearl, with the help of her most treasured porcelain doll.
All of my work isĀ adult fiction. Content warnings for graphic violence, explicit sex, substance use/abuse & disturbing scenes. Reader discretion advised.
"I lied to you at Speculo because I didn't trust you," Lizzy said softly, her free hand lifting to settle against his neck, her thumb running along the line of his jaw.
"I know," Andric said softly, "and it's not like you hid that you didn't trust us," he agreed.
"I trust you," Lizzy whispered, large blue eyes watching him as she began to offer a small, hesitant smile. "I'm with you. We're a team."
This seems to have vibed with a lot of folks, so as encouragement: after posting this, I did in fact write a whole chapter. So you can do it too! You ARE capable of putting sentences together!
I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.
An ancient word. One which persevered, out-living both its origins, and the depleted, long-dead Arda. It offered an idea of the nebula-diving beasts, their shape and form perhaps, some vague and distant likeness recognized in the primal, collective memory of humankind. But it did so with as much clumsiness and redundancy as the word star was meant to convey the sense of a celestial body, of such magnitude, gigantic and gaseous, a massive sphere of nuclear fusion hurtling through the abyss.

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled āimmortalityā after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as ādo not stand at my grave and weepā). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, ādo not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.ā page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, āi am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.ā the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, āwhen you awaken in the morningās hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.ā the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, āi am not there. i did not dieā / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my schoolās comic anthology. the theme was āevolutionā
A reminder that darker fiction has a right to exist and explore themes that people are uncomfortable with. Yes, even if it's romanticized. Yes, even if you personally don't like it.
Authors have always written about things that they don't agree with morally, and I hope to god they always will, despite how shitty people treat them for doing that now.
I think one of my favourite things about writers (that of which has nothing to do with the writing itself) is every one of us shares a mutual enjoyment, and possibly collection, of mugs
My nameās Ari and Iām an independant author of fantasy novels.
I live in the south-east of England, near the coast, with my demon of a cat, and my mum (Who is two parts flat-mate, and one part alpha-reader!).
When Iām not writing, or drowning myself in coffee, Iām probably gaming or trying to resurrect my high school sewing skills to make my own clothes. Making my own clothes is a relatively new venture, but something Iāve always wanted to do. So, itās a work in progress, but I have hope!

The Fellfire Volumes are a Grimdark Romantasy series, and also a co-write project with my best friend, @faelanvance. Since it's a co-write project, we have a shared blog @fellfire-volumes.
At the moment we anticipate the series being about 6-8 books.
The Chronicles of Verald
My most intimidating project to date. I anticipate this epic romantasy to be about 10-books long, but I've also not allowed myself to sit down and full outline this one just yet because of how huge I anticipate it being.
There's a powerful female lead, a morally grey MMC romance, and a love story that spans a lifetime... or two.
having edgy ocs is soooo embarassing like yeah this is johnny... he.. kills people... yeah with a knife and theres blood and stuff yeah... sorry i know...
