btw you're allowed to enjoy two differing interpretations of the same character and you don't have to justify why you like it to anyone. you can like your evil character to be malicious and serious and you can like depicting them as a silly goober. you can enjoy seeing people draw two characters in all sorts of different contexts and dynamics without having to pick one over the other. you don't have to come up with a complex reason. you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. you can like a character multiple ways without having to justify why it's not problematic or why it's not weird. do what you want. it's fandom, not a testimony before the court.

Okay, I've been seeing these hate posts about actors' political views, and people spreading "dislike" so they'll get canceled? Or stop supporting them? Hmmmmm

Well, my take on this is simple: We all have different views and opinions, but we should respect our differences. Just because you and that person differ doesn't give you permission to spread hate on them, especially to mock the people who support them. Sometimes it's just too much, you don't know people well enough to judge them.

Imagine seeing not-so-nice comments about that one person who has been your source of happiness and will to live. It's heartbreaking. And if we were friends and happened to have different opinions, would you stop being friends with me? Is that how it is now?

For the record, some of my favorites have political views that aren't favored by some, and some have had mistakes/issues in the past. Did that make me dislike them? No. Not really. You know why? Because I love them for their craft, their work, and their beauty. That's that. Life is too short to spread hate. Kindness is free, but for some reason people act as if it's the most expensive in the world.

the existence of dark and taboo fanfiction literally cannot hurt you. it can only upset you if you don’t like it but for some reason choose to seek it out, ignore the warnings the author gives, then deliberately read it on your own free will. you choose to seek it out then read it just to make yourself upset. sounds like a you problem to me
