Misplaced Fear

They both find themselves entering a yellowed dimly-lit corridor adorned with doors on either side every so often, it almost looks like the corridor terminates to the abyss and will keep on going forever in the dark.
The younger girl tightened her grip on the arm of the older girl whose complexion pierced the corridor like a steel.
"Are... we sure we're going the right way?" the young girl asked.
"Mh."
"R-really...? But how do you know?"
The older girl took a step forward without looking at the girl behind her, "I don't," she said, "but if you keep fearing something that isn't there, you'll never get anywhere."
"Are we sure... we aren't going to get more lost?" the young girl asked, "what if the corridor never ends?"
"What is there to be scared of?" the older girl replied, "Either way, it's going to be way better than the outside, because at least you know the Corridor will never end."
Taking another step and dragging the younger girl forward, she asked, "are you scared of the Corridor? or of yourself?"
"What do you mean?"
"Are you more scared of getting lost in the Corridor, or getting lost within yourself?" putting another foot after the other, she walked with no hesitation, "because if you lost yourself, then you'll be lost in the Corridor. So no matter how scared you are of the Corridor."
She turned around and looked at the face of the younger girl, "you'll never be lost in the Corridor."
The young girl, while struggling to understand all this, gave a little nod and whispered, "I see."
They walked silently through the corridor.
