Sam Wilson Whatta Man
Sam Wilson fans come get y'all's juice. All I have been able to think about recently is how Whatta Man is thee Sam Wilson song so here we are
And you know what, speaking of Superboy Prime, at some point we may need to interrogate why “violent, misanthropic white man gets forgiven and praised for his growth after apologizing in a way that specifically does not invalidate his masculinity” is such a popular, quickly latched-onto narrative.
And perhaps we should interrogate who that narrative is for.
Damian has literally been sent to hell. Tara has been treated like...Tara by basically every narrative she has ever been in. To this day, people still refuse to acknowledge their growth, their nuance, or the lack of agency baked into their circumstances.
But then you get a willing, spiteful mass murderer who spends five dubious minutes posing as less of an asshole, and suddenly he is the freshest, hottest concept in comics. We simply must root for him. We must celebrate his growth. We must ignore the continuity of his crimes. And if you point out that he has, in fact, done horrific things on purpose, suddenly you’re “taking comics too seriously.”
Interesting.
Redemption arcs are not the problem. Growth is not the problem. Characters with blood on their hands becoming better is not the problem.
The problem is how quickly some fans recognize humanity, nuance, pain, and potential in a violent white male power fantasy, while treating characters like Damian, Talia, Tara, and plenty of others as permanently defined by their worst context, their worst writing, or their least charitable interpretation. Even Diana suffers from this and she didn't even really do anything wrong--
What could possibly cause people to project so hard into that archetype?
In this political climate?
Truly, we can only wonder...
Of all the weird contrivances that superhero media have by virtue of genre, I think the no-kill rule is one of the easiest to justify. "Why don't these paragons of virtue extrajudicially murder people?" fuck dude, I wonder.

reblog for happiness to come for you in late march!
what must it be like to be a usamerican and not understand anything
to explain this for those out of the know: iran has been attacking usamerican military bases that are in all these countries. these are the bases from which the usa has been launching strikes into iran. they are not simply attacking willy nilly, as stewart liked to imply. they are defending themselves, trying to reduce the usas ability to continue attacking them.
to add, even when they attack, like, seemingly unrelated places in dubai and abu dabi, these are places where gulf states that host us bases but also have promised foreign Capitalist that they can safely park their Capital in these cities. Bombing these data centers et al. shows the gulf state that the risk of hosting US bases is too great for their livelihoods. if the lesson is learned and appropriate actions are taken, this is going to make the region much safer for not just for Iran, but Yemen, Lebanon, etc., in the long run.
This is neither stupidity nor ignorance on the part of American media. This guy is not saying this shit because he genuinely has no idea why Iran is doing what it’s doing. He is purposefully framing Iran's measured and justified reaction as deranged and nonsensical, as impossible to understand, as the aimless flailing of a wounded animal, to paint an image in the mind of the average USAmerican(who are often actually uneducated about the world) of a dangerous rogue state that cannot be allowed to exist. To frame the US and Israel’s genocidal assault and war of aggression against the Iranian people as inevitable and warranted—even if they supposedly ‘disagree’ and are ‘greatly concerned’ with how Trumpenyahu et al. are going about it.
When the empire wants regime change in a sovereign state that won’t bend the knee to their interests, both sides of the mainstream political spectrum, in media and otherwise, will put aside their 'differences' and dedicate themselves entirely to manufacturing consent for it, from whichever angle sticks.
Damian Wayne has a magic ability of getting every single girl and woman in his vicinity to treat him like a family member.
Sisters, cousins, aunties. He just has the charm
"My beautiful princess with a disorder" and they're referring to a man
WAIT, everyone reblog this with YOUR beautiful princess with a disorder
Someone tagged this with a male character, everyone go home
IT HAPPENED AGAIN, (and it was the version of the post with the above addition!!) So I'd like to clarify:
damian is really schrodingers biracial like when you want to draw on his flaws and have him wield a big sword or be especially violent or rude or cold or show how different he is from his peers and make him an antisocial outsider then the comics will happily show you how he’s descended from a bunch of brown people but if damian’s being a funny or loving kid who adores animals or if he’s inheriting the mantle of the bat for whatever reason then very conveniently he’s bruce’s kid stop asking questions about damian okay he’s bruce’s son doesn’t he look just like bruce he reminds you of bruce right
The racism of fandom to treat Talia like an evil terrible mom to Damian because of one man's racist story beat while treating Bruce's consistent terrible treatment of his kids as just bad writing (which tbf it is but still) is WILD. Like this has unfortunately been a PATTERN with Bruce. Talia come pick up your son post haste.
I'm sick of watching our police kill people with impunity man.
I can't believe we're already coming up on the sixth anniversary of George Floyd's murder and the months of nationwide protests that sparked and policing has only gotten worse. Like let it not be underscored that even if Kamala won she also vowed to be just as 'tough on immigration'. The normalization of this violence is crazy. A better world is possible if we fundamentally reframe our concept of justice and public safety. Is a country that treats immigrants like vermin and parasites safer? Is a country that shoots unarmed citizens just?? It doesn't have to be like this.

With 16 nominations, Sinners makes history as the most Oscar-nominated film of all time.
As we speak of Renee Nicole Good, let’s remember Silverio Villegas González who was also shot and killed by ICE agents while in his vehicle, then ICE made claims that differed from video evidence. Let’s remember Marimar Martinez who survived after being shot at by ICE five times, but then had to fight against felony charges that were based on claims that differed from video evidence. Let’s remember Jaime Alanis, Roberto Carlos Montoya Valdez and Josué Castro Rivera who all died as a result of ICE raids.
Let’s remember everyone that we know of who died in ICE custody due to neglect and “undetermined causes” in this past year alone. Again, these are the deaths that we know of:
Genry Ruiz Guillén, Serawit Gezahegn Dejene, Maksym Chernyak, Juan Alexis Tineo-Martinez, Brayan Garzón-Rayo, Nhon Ngoc Nguyen, Marie Ange Blaise, Abelardo Avellaneda, Jesus Molina-Veya, Johnny Noviello, Isidro Pérez, Tien Xuan Phan, Chaofeng Ge, Lorenzo Antonio Batrez Vargas, Oscar Rascon Duarte, Santos Banegas Reyes, Ismael Ayala-Uribe, Norlan Guzman-Fuentes, Miguel Ángel García Medina, Huabing Xie, Leo Cruz-Silva, Hasan Ali Moh’D Saleh, Gabriel Garcia Aviles, Kai Yin Wong, Francisco Gaspar-Andrés, Pete Sumalo Montejo, Shiraz Fatehali Sachwani, Jean Wilson Brutus, Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir, Delvin Francisco Rodriguez and Nenko Stanev Gantchev.

Keith Porter, who was shot and killed just a few days before Renee, on New Years Eve. By on off duty officer.
hi guys! discord is doing a survey on how people would like ai to be integrated into discord. take it and say fuck no to every question. when you get to "in general, how do you feel about discord inegrating ai features?", respond that you would actively get everyone you know off of discord and wouldn't pay for nitro or other shop items if they added ai features.
watch out for the trap! there's ONE QUESTION where the last option *isn't* the max 'no AI' option, read each part carefully to be sure
I haven’t been on this app in a while, but I know a Black man, Keith Porter, was murdered by ICE on New Year’s Eve (Rest in Power) in Cali. Just one of the countless Black people who’ve been murdered by ICE and other agents of the state.
I log back into this app and see the conversations around the white woman, Renee Good, who was just recently killed. And I can’t help but notice the stark difference in circulation of news and boosting of stories between both of them across this app…
Shit has BEEN happening to Black people across administrations and is currently happening to Black people under this administration, and is met by crickets. Yet when it starts touching white people, I see real anger start being felt from the gen pop followed by amplification and co-opting of Black terms and memorialization… I stg it takes everything in me to give af about yall.
**Edited: linking a gfm for Keith
***update: the gfm is unavailable. Will post an updated link as soon as I have one (removing the link until then for less confusion)

What is the meaning of international law at this point when some countries are allowed complete impunity to do whatever they want without consequences
