I know it's currently in the GEMCYT kick, but if Gargoyle!Dan and Were!Think weren't born as hybrids, did they end coping with their transformations alone or did they get support fromntheir hybrid friends? (me remembering the fics of Hermits Suddenly Becoming Hybrids from external reasons)

Dan dealt with his alone. He saved a sacred graveyard that his mother was buried in from a Nether attack after somebody opened a portal, but he nearly died, so the graveyard’s spirits thanked him in the only way they knew how, giving him gargoyle status to save his life. He only turned out half because they usually do that to the dead and he was still alive, and that transformation was brutal and took days. The wings and molting were the worst bit, absolutely agonizing when it’s stone and not skin and you can’t just pull it off in one painless piece.
Dan found Justin right as he was bit because Justin got himself into a debt with some bad people by accident and found himself in an underground dog fight… except the dogs were just him and a large werewolf. Dan pulled him out and stayed with him for a few days, but Justin, afraid of himself, stressed, and lowk kind of feral at first, attacked Dan before running off, turning (which only took minutes) and it took hours for Dan to get him restrained and in a docile state. That was about the only time Justin lost himself in the moment. He’s pretty much just a big old puppy, but he does need a lot of aspirin before shifts. That hurts. Dan helped him through acclimating, though.
