This is an (almost) 4 year old tweet but I just recently saw it .. and let me tell you I’ve never loved a book series as much as I love Harry Potter and hated the author as much as I hate JK Rowling. What kind of crazy delusional woman is she to damn an entire group of people (when she says “all those who do are Slytherins” that’s basically saying watch out they could be one!!!!) to an awful, disgusting thing that is not at ALL possibly true. You’re telling me not a SINGLE person outside of the Slytherin house could be racist ?? You’re telling me that the characteristics of a Slytherin are somehow related to racism ?? What’s wrong with JKR ? Like honestly what’s wrong with her?

Did she forget… she wrote Peter Pettigrew? He was a gryffindor who became racist just to feel like he belonged to a group. Fucked up.

Also, that’s completely contradictory to how she set up the house system? Also, she’s pretty much saying at 11 you’re predestined to either be racist or not, which is kind of fucked. Kids change, are influenced, and grow. I am willing to bet the way any of us thought when we were 11 is the way we think as adults. 

The whole point of Harry Potter was how no one is better than anyone else. They fought a war for equality. Yet Rowling cannot let slytherins be on even footing with the rest of the houses ever. I get she based them on her bullies or whatever, but that’s a little bit much. It’s literally just become the scapegoat house.
