Absolutely bonkers that I'm now one of those weirdos you hear about on Twitter
I committed to the bit so hard that I also committed misdemeanor impersonation of a government official
putting on the high vis corset and running in front of cars across a dark country road like a deer
Item: Corset of Visibility
Pair this with a black skirt and boots, and you, too can be a Visigoth.
Tumblr just told me it was my 14th anniversary on tumblr. How dare they!
I'd offer my condolences, but I too am on this hellsite
Remember when Xbox was going to basically ban used games for the xbox one, and Playstation made fun of them with that video titled "how to share games on Playstation" and it was just one guy handing another a game disk? And now Playstation is getting rid of physical disks entirely
Itâs like they expect us to just forget their original marketing schemes in favor of more and more money grabs.

Ok so thanks for voting on this but i need you to reblog it too
folks i'm worried for us
I think my favorite mug may be done for.
Everyone saying that this has drainage and is now a planter is extremely correct.
This is the 85 year old creator of Roger Rabbit:
my life with ADHD
This is very true and a great post.
But low key makes me think about how people with adhd have been raised their whole lives to value a day based on what they accomplished vs what they experienced
I think your point is excellent. But also consider:
That list might say things like âPaint a picture. Go birdwatching. Finish that great novel I started reading. Call my grandma. Learn to bake a cake. Visit my sister. Play piano.â
For me at least, the good/fun things are harder without meds too. I can have the best intentions, but following through is hard.
This addition is so important.
Yeah. I once made a post in which I complained about being frustrated at my brain, and one of the things I said was:
âI should not be struggling this much to do things that I want to do and have the time, space, energy, and skills to do. Actually, when I list it all out like that, I should not be struggling at all to do those kinds of tasks.â
And I STILL somehow got a rant about capitalism in the comments. And I do understand where itâs coming from, yes, but goddamn did I not make myself clear? Did I not say Things That I Want To Do???

I've seen attack piranhas with more chill.
That's a looney tunes lunge there at the end. (That, or it can teleport.)
now do you see why I hold equal parts love and fear for rabbits? They are prey animals. They don't think like us. They have sharp teeth and are very fast.
Got some Grade A Senshi propaganda right he- OH GOD OH NO
Senshi... I'm so sorry oh my god I dont know what happened or where that water bucket came from jesus christ all mighty

Do you think tumblr will ever learn the difference between âIâm defending this person because I agree with them wholeheartedly and I am also like this personâ and âIâm defending this person because your behavior is dangerous and you need to stopâ
IMO, blurring the lines between âIâm defending them because theyâre rightâ and âIâm defending them because youâre taking this too farâ is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracyâeven in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.Â
Mob mentality is extremely strong in humans and itâs also extremely dangerous. Mobs donât think things through. Mobs kill and they destroy and they canât be reasoned with. Someone trying to calm a mob down isnât someone defending the ~problematic party~ Itâs time we re-learn that.
sir do you listen to classical music? If yes do you have any recs?
I am, in fact, a classically trained oboist!
Classical music is an enormous genre, spanning centuries and cultures. Because of my training, I focus on the Western tradition. I enjoy the baroque and romantic periods the most, with some 20th century.
Usually when asked for recommendations (assuming you are new to classical), I lean towards music that feels like a movie soundtrack or otherwise has memorable themes non-musicians easily remember:
Ma Vlast - Moldau: Smetana
Danse Macabre: Saint-Saens
Night on Bald Mountain: Mussorgsky
New World Symphony: Dvorak
Scheherazade: Rimsky-Korsakov
The Planets: Holst
Symphony No. 4: Tchaikovsky (5 is also a banger)
Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis: Vaughan Williams (Lark Ascending is also great)
My personal favorites, however, are what I enjoy playing:
Summer Music: Barber
Trio and Sextuor: Poulenc
Serenade for Winds: Dvorak
Double concerto: J.S. Bach
Sinfonische Metamorphosen: Hindemith
Concerto for Orchestra: Bartok
I do have one exception, and it's that I fucking love the Beethoven Violin Concerto.
The RVW piece reminded me of something and I'd love to hear your thoughts, but I have to preface by saying that what I'm about to direct your attention to may (at least at first impression) seem like the worst idea you've ever heard if you're not already aware of it. There's a guy who has a youtube channel on which - among many other pieces - he has posted an arrangement of the entirety of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, note for note (as far as I can tell), but
performed as heavy metal. Also half of the pieces on your intro list (Danse Macabre, Night on Bald Mountain, The Planets (all of them), a medley of RVW) and various others.
As someone who will argue that power metal is the spiritual successor of J.S. Bach, I love me a good arrangement, and it's especially fun when it changes the genre.
I mean, in the classical music biz, we are almost *all* cover bands of one sort or another. Even when playing something "straight," there is a tremendous amount of variation, and many traditional styles (baroque ornamentation, cadenzas in concertos) outright demand personalization on the part of the performer.

i used to struggle so badly as an autistic teen when i would get into disagreements with my friends and they would frequently tell me âyou think youâre always right!â to which i would be like, well, yes, i do believe the things i believe and dont believe things i dont believe ergo i think i am right
i was at the function bringing arguments to a screeching halt because suddenly im like âwhy would i have and express an opinion i dont think is right? of course i think im right. thats dumbâ
FOR THOSE WONDERING AS I DID FOR SO LONG, âyou think youâre always rightâ usually roughly translates to âyou think you can never be wrongâ and was usually said to me when i was being straight up obstinate and refusing to consider other perspectives
I was an obnoxious know-it-all as a kid who had to work on tact in situations where I could technically be right but like... wrong due to the fact that I was blatantly ignoring social expectations because I thought they were dumb. Correct answer, maybe, totally wrong approach and in many circumstances the approach is like half the obstacle. It took a lot of self reflection to get better at this but it's a skill you must hone if you want anyone to like you.
It's like when your math teacher wanted you to show your work even though you already had the answer. It's not always about the answer itself. Sometimes it's about learning other ways to do things, and being able to guide someone else through the process. We live in a society.
personally the lattice method of multiplication is the reason i hate math
youre telling me that i can make some boxes with lines through them
solve the multiplication equation for each pair of individual digits and arrange them in the boxes just so
AND THEN ADD UP ALL THE NUMBERS IN EACH COLUMN AND GET THE RIGHT ANSWER????
this post taught me that not everyone learned the lattice method in elementary school
In grade school we learned the normal way to do multiplication one day and then the lattice way the next, except I was sick the day we learned the normal way and they never went back and reviewed it and neither did I and so to this day I only know how to use the lattice method
....What the ever loving fuck, this is really cool???? I have NEVER heard of this???
I swear the jump from the first to the second image is basically that "draw the owl" meme.
Yeah it took me a while to figure it out, but I DID! So for me and you and everyone else going âwait wtf just happened????â I present a more step by step breakdown!
So you start with a grid with as many squares as needed to write one number across the top and one number down the side. And draw these diagonal lines through them. Yes you should extend them out the side.
THEN you basically multiply the numbers that match with each square, put the tens digit in the top triangle and the ones digit in the bottom triangle. Like so:
so once youâve done that, you start adding up the numbers in the DIAGONAL column/row thingies from the bottom right up to the top left, like so:
You only want one digit (tho I assume if the very top/last row somehow gets 2 digits thatâs ok, but ONLY in that position) and youâll carry over to the next column, like if you were adding normally.
Then you start at the top left and just take all the numbers going down and around and put them together!
It does take up a lot more space and has a few more steps than the more traditional long multiplication, I think, but for people who struggle with that I think this would be a handy tool!
Hereâs a screenshot of the more traditional style to compare:
I hope this helps! I had to figure it out on my own bc I was never taught this either. :)
Huh. I'll be damned. Reblogging so I'll hopefully remember how to do it.
I learned this way in school and switched to a school that taught the traditional way the next year and all the kids thought I was a witch
I still need to sit with this for a bit so saving for later!
