You can have your characters be Jimmy Mouthwashing, but you have to frame them correctly, don’t give me the most loathsome and irredeemable characters and try to make me like them or feel sympathy for them just because they suffered.

This is true, critisizing media not always equals critically thinking about said media. Proper criticism should always use critical thinking skills and help this media improve.

But.

Have we also considered that just hating something is fun too? Sometimes a media is just so bad that no amount of proper criticism will ever improve it. It’s bad, it’s cash grab in it’s purest form, and some people will find it fun to hate it. Let people hate things, for christ sake 😑
