Not only that, but if you’re spending 11 - 25$ a month on streaming music anyways, reinvesting that into a 2 or 3 used or 1 new CD is not only cheaper, but in a year you already have a decent collection of music that’s special to you.

I think about the way we’ve adapted to listening to music, our streaming collections are so large that sometimes we lose the intimacy we have with the music we really like. I see people often saying like “I’m so weird I listen to this album all the time on loop,” but like…that’s undeniably normal. You’re allowed to enjoy the music you like over and over again. That’s why it exists, it’s a complete body of work not a few singles and some chaff to be listened to only when it’s new and then forgotten about when it’s old.

When you listen back to an album you really loved in high school, or through a breakup, or during the summer, it has the ability to transport you back to that time. It creates a sense memory, it’s literally worth owning in your house. Don’t let the things you love be commodified and turned into a service for the sake of consuming more than you need. Enjoy what you love more, and deeply.

Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Had a dream that some guy named Hudson stood behind me and pressed his genitals into my back and when I told him to stop he threw a tantrum “this is just how I stand” then stand somewhere else I don’t want to feel that dude. I think stan deserved some animal friends on his long and loney journey as a homeless vagabond. So! Possums! (Inspired by how I got pet possums as a kid.)

I also think that stan strolling up to ford's doorstep with a postcard, a duffelbag, and a handful of squirming marsupials makes a funny mental picture.

In fact! Stan having baby possums crawling all over him during the argument might be just the thing to prevent the portal incident.

Ford would probably insist on bill-checking all five of them, though.
