I know everyone hates Hayden except for me, but Hayden referring to Shane as the twins' "older brother" instead of uncle is so fucking funny.

Like yeah I am a surrogate child to my married friends who have a car. They drive me places, get groceries for me, take me to doctor's appointments, etc. When they start having kids, I will say I was practice!

Hayden calling Shane his kids' uncle makes more sense in the book & him calling Shane their big brother makes more sense in the show. Bc in the book, Hayden & Shane are both drafted to Montreal at the same time. Shane was THERE when Hayden met Jackie. (Hayden & Shane are sort of parellels when it comea to their respective relationships. By the time Shane & Ilya FINALLY admit their feelings, Hayden & Jackie are married with 4 kids.) And in the show, Hayden has already at least a season under his belt when Shane joins the Metros so he essentially adopts Shane as one of his kids.
