ilya loves anya so so much! but he also really likes sleeping in. and ilya loves shane soo so much!! but shane doesnt really like sleeping in. all this to say: ilya is so so happy that he is living with shane now for at least one million reasons- and not having to be the one that does The Morning Walk™ is pretty high on the unofficial list

When Shane moves to Ottawa he starts taking Anya on his morning runs. But she's a little crusty white dog so after about a km he has to pick her up and carry her for the rest of the run. Shane wants to stop because he doesn't enjoy running while carrying Anya like a little football but she gets so excited when he puts on his running shoes that he can't stop taking her.

he throws it only to realize anya had already gone after the stick shane threw earlier, so he begrudgingly goes to get the toy back

him and anya coincidentally return at the same time, ilya with the toy and anya with the stick

"Soft with Anya", Ilya Rozanov [Connor Storrie], The Long Game (Spoilers!), Game Changers Series

A couple of minor changes - I gave Ilya a loon tattoo where his (book) bear tattoo should be, instead of on his arm (I really wanted to include it, and you can't see his left arm from this angle). I also didn't edit out Connor's "Sex Sells" tattoo (I did make sure the letters were blurred though), because I have this headcanon that maybe Hayden's twins drew a heart on his leg when he and Shane were babysitting and Ilya hasn't washed it off yet.

Also, I’m an Aussie, there has never been a moment Anya didn’t read as an Aussie shepherd to me. It’s called artistic license.

so anya decided shane belonged to her approximately three minutes after meeting him. it is humiliating for ilya that had spent weeks talking about how loyal she was, how she only listened to him, how she was “basically russian special forces in dog form.” so when shane finally walked through the door, crouched down, said, “hi, sweetheart,” in that soft voice he uses with pets, and anya immediately rolled onto her back for belly rubs, ilya stared at them in betrayal, muttering under his breath that shane only met her once and anya wagged her tail harder because shane is soooo good to her.

pork meanwhile took one look at ilya and decided he was an enemy of the state. ilya would sit down on shane’s couch. pork would leave. ilya would speak. pork’s ears would flatten. ilya would try to pet him. pork would bite him exactly once—not hard enough to injure, just enough to communicate in his kitty language that know your place.

but shane insists pork is actually very affectionate to which ilya disagrees very harshly, (he’s a little dramatic ngl) saying, “your cat is evil.” right to shane’s pouty face. pork, currently asleep in shane’s lap with one paw wrapped around shane’s wrist, purrs.

the funniest part is that anya absolutely adores pork. (she loves everyone. well, except ilya i suppose…) but pork hates everyone and only adores shane. anya follows him around with the hopeful enthusiasm of a playful dog trying to befriend a goth and it makes pork hiss.

and when they both have days off, lounging around in bed, anya would insists on sleeping on ilya’s side of the bed and pork insists on sleeping on shane’s chest. the result is shane pinned in place by twenty pounds of judgment and seventy pounds of devotion and ilya wakes up clinging to the edge of the mattress.
