"One time I was standing with my best friend whining that I wanted a kirlia plushie but simply couldn't afford it. Then a lady turned to me and said she would buy it for me/split the cost. Naturally I was shocked and then I got all shy and walked away. She ended up finding me later, paid for my lunch (which I disagreed with since we just met), and dragged me up to her hotel. I looked at my friends and was like: "GUISE. HALP!" And since that day no one trusts me to be on my own at Fanime."

Hahaha, I've had something similar happen to me at one point. Except for the dragging away part.

I have one message in the queue but a paper that's already overdue, so I'll probably get this one up by the weekend ^__^;
Before Fanime I used to be really shy and I never thought that I could become an artist. I was so amazed by the artist alley the first time. I had so much fun just going to different tables and asking them about their work. I made a lot of new friends that day, some I still talk to frequently online or at other conventions. More importantly, I got a whole new idea about what it means to be an artist and I don't think i would be as good as I am if I didn't meet the people I did.
Hi anon! This is a verysleepy!Yuu responding to your confession (no seriously, I should probably go to bed instead of doing this but I let this sit in my inbox waaaay too long).
I'm really glad you made friends in the artist alley! For me (who has the artist talent of a particularly inept lemming), being able to talk and interact with artists I admire tends to be another reason why I love cons. It's one of my favorite parts!
I hope being able to meet these people has given you the courage and confidence to continue being an artist, and maybe I'll get to see you at your own table this year :D

This was a hard confession to find an image for *3* Pixiv's "アート" tag can be scary hahaha, so instead I used an image from Taniguchi Jiro's "A Walking Man". There are several reasons for this but essentially it boils down to "Pixiv can be scary if you forget to put the R-18 blocker back on", "I had the manga open for class already so might as well" and "Well, he's a pretty awesome artist...".
Anon! You will have a longer message to your confession in a few (I think -- bloody queue, I have no idea when it posts things).
Thanks darkbolo for following!
One of the first "free hug" people I ever hugged was a really attractive shirtless guy at Fanime. He was counting the amount of hugs he got, I think I was in the 60's. I was really embarrassed at first, since I wasn't used to hugging strangers, let alone SHIRTLESS strangers, but it's a fond memory now.
Whee! What a wonderful experience!
So, yeah, not exactly what I was expecting with "Fanime-Confessions" but I would love to hear about people's experiences and if you don't mind me adding it to the blog, I'll post 'em!

So, uh not an attractive shirtless guy, but hugs from your bestest nakama can't hurt, right?
So, confessions about Fanime.... Not exactly what I was expecting to get on this blog, but sure! I can dig it <3
No submissions :(
Anyone have confessions to make?
