thinking about the similarities and differences with will and laurens friendship and kieran and bella’s dynamic.

like, both will and bella fill a semi-older sibling role for lauren and kieran. will and bella are the people who have known lauren and kieran the longest and probably know the most about them and their pasts (and their respective relationships with dylan) and lauren and kieran are some of the only people who can see through will and bella’s facades!! lauren who knows about wills mother and how he’s constantly putting on a brave face, and kieran who knows about bella and neyras relationship.

even with will and bella’s shitty father figures and the environments they were raised in. stefan’s superiority complex feels very reminiscent of redcliff and the circus, with will and bella being the golden children who need to represent the family. if kieran and bella weren’t child soldiers in a nightmarish environment, they could’ve had the same relationship as will and lauren, but instead they just have “hey i promise i won’t kill you or the person you care about until i’m explicitly ordered to.”
