Hurt overlay effects
just wanted to have some fun and work on some visual stuff, the glitch effect scales according to the player's health, which is calculated as a weighted average of their limb's health, head, eyes and torso have the bigger weight, arms and legs the least. I think its pretty effective at conveying the intensity of damage without beign inherently annoying to deal with, mind you, every single limb is at 1 hp on the video! so obviously at that point the player is at death's door so readability isnt particularly important xd
Heathkit Hero 1 I/O board
X-ray, schematics, a board that someone attempted to repair long ago with bodge wires, and my functional I/O board mounted on another robot.
The pins that hold this board in place end up flexing the board every time its attached and detached from the robot’s side panel. As a result, the flexing eventually damages traces to the point that they start to lose continuity, and the computer board can’t control the peripheral boards any more. I’m desoldering all of the components off that board to send it away for scanning and replication, so that new boards can be made to replace the ones damaged like this.
Oh by the way, if you missed it, I made replicas of that I/O board. It only took me a few years to get around to it. I also put the PCB design up online so others could make their own if they need one (check the attribution link on that last photo).

reworking the hud display, i think i came up with a good idea for displaying limb status, just needs more work :3
