All summaries for titles are below the keep reading line. It's still a little crazy and I am so sorry, but better to have too much detail than not enough! It is sorted by "A Collection of Langst: (Mostly) Patreon Edition" and "A Short(er) Story Collection: Volume IV*" first given that those are multi-fic books, and then proceeds in order of titles as listed above.

A Collection of Langst (alphabetical)

Patreon: Cannon Fodder

Lance is captured by the Galra and not only is his fate to be massacred in the Arena without even a chance to even defend himself, he has to be outfitted so his death will count for the right Galran commander’s points. And the Galran’s way to identify their cannon fodder? Branding.

Patreon: Feel My Pain

“Your friends are going to watch you hang here,” the alien kicked the stool Lance was precariously balanced on, “until you can’t anymore. And then,” his grin was sharp and cruel, “they’ll watch you die. Helpless to do anything. Helpless to save you. And they’ll get to experience a sliver of the pain I’m in knowing that my brother is gone,” his voice cracked, “and I’ll never see him again. This is all I want and all you can offer, Paladin. No apologies. No reparations. Just your pain and theirs.”

Patreon: Fog

The locals had said the fog was dangerous. They said only those fire-touched and carrying the sacred flame could traverse it. They said that Keith and Lance could do so to rescue the child lost in its cold haze, slowly being killed with only his worst fears for company.

But they hadn’t told them about the conditions. That the fog would only let the number who had traversed inwards with the flame out. And so a total of three went in.

Only two returned.

And for someone like Lance, whose worst fear is being alone and abandoned… it’s not going to end well.

Patreon: For the Love of Family

They said they didn’t want to hurt him. And Lance knew they didn’t, not really. They were doing this out of love, out of hope-fueled despair. But at the end of the day they wanted to use their magic to replace Lance’s mind and change his body to make him become their beloved, deceased younger brother and restore their family while ripping Lance away from his own.

And with a desperate plan like that… everyone involved is going to get hurt.

AO3: Just a Little Longer

Just a little longer is the mantra Lance keeps telling himself as his flu symptoms grow worse while Voltron is negotiating an alliance. Just get through the talks. Through dinner. And now through dancing. Except that last one is too much and Shiro has noticed something is wrong and now everything is about to be ruined.

AO3: The Poison of Deceit

This diplomatic mission is not going the way Lance had hoped. The diplomacy part on behalf of Voltron is going fantastic and Lance doesn’t think he’d be remiss in saying he had a large hand in that. But the whole impress Shiro bit is an epic fail as Shiro doesn’t seem to notice his efforts at all and it’s only worse with Keith showing him up at nearly every turn. The aliens they’re working on the alliance though have noticed his efforts. But as Lance stands here now, Shiro and Keith’s lives along with a vial of poison in his hands, he isn’t so certain that was a good thing.

Patreon: The Power of a Hug

A retelling of the fight in “The Depths” where Hunk is stronger, faster, more ruthless and will do anything to keep his queen safe and warm, even if that means hurting his best friend. And where Lance knows if Hunk discovers how badly he hurt him he will never, ever, forgive himself. So there’s only one thing to do: hide his injuries and hope that no one, especially Hunk, ever finds out.

Patreon: Rivers Stain the Ocean

When Lance messes with Pidge’s color coding system the only thing to do is retaliate in kind.

So she dyes him completely blue.

It’s harmless though, will wear off in a few days, and the experience will teach Lance to never touch her stuff again. A win-win if Pidge does say so herself.

Except for the part where the planet they visit the following day to form an alliance has this whole thing about a prophecy and being cursed and deceived by a being of blue. And in order to save both their planet and Voltron...

They’re going to kill Lance.

AO3: Training Program

Lance knows his close quarters combat isn’t the best, so when Shiro tells Lance he’s going to train him he should be relieved because maybe now he can actually protect his team. Except the training seems to be more of a beatdown punctuated by both fists and cruel words and now Lance has to hide the results of such before he makes tensions in Voltron even worse. But that’s harder than planned on as Keith is both very observant and very, very concerned.

“Do you think the Galra Empire will care that you’re tired?” Shiro interrupted him. “Do you think they’ll go easy on you because you’ve been fighting all day?” “No, but—” “There are no buts, Lance,” Shiro cut him off. “Either you want to be a Paladin your team can count on or you don’t.”

Patreon: The Warmth of a Scar

Lichtenberg scars, Hunk explained softly. That was the term they used on Earth to describe the dark lines seared into Lance’s skin from the lightning strike, the strike that had also taken his right eye. Those scars represented pain and loss and despair. But to Allura… they were beautiful. They felt safe. And she hoped she could help Lance to see the same.

Absent

Coma: a state of deep unconsciousness that lasts for a prolonged or indefinite period, caused especially by severe injury or illness.

Absent: not present in a place, at an occasion, or as part of something.

Replacement: a person or thing that takes the place of another.

And as Lance is finding after waking up from his coma, eight months is a long, long time. Everything has changed. Everyone has changed. And while no one will come right out and say it, he knows. They’ve moved on. They’ve replaced him. Blue has replaced him. And he will never, ever, recover what he’s lost while he's been absent.

Sword and Shield

The Blade mission is dangerous but Keith is confident that between himself and Lance, who along with the Red Lion is integral to the success of it, they’ll be fine. However, as the mission progresses Keith is finding it harder and harder to ignore the fact that Lance keeps making himself a human shield and sacrificing his own safety for Keith’s and it's reminding him far too much of his own decision on Naxzela and what he almost did to keep the others safe.

But now that horrific pattern of self-sacrifice has come to a head as Lance is injured protecting Keith. And it's not just a terrible wound: Lance is poisoned and slowly, painfully dying before Keith's eyes. Unlike Naxzela where he could at least do something (even if it would have cost him everything) there's nothing he can do to save Lance. Nothing except hope for a miracle.

Through Fire and Smoke

They’re trapped. They’re trapped and the room is filling up with fire and smoke and there’s no way out and both Pidge and Lance are down and if Keith doesn’t figure something out they are all going to die.

My Favorite Toy Series

Lotor has a way with words. They are honey dipped poison dripping with charm and he's got Allura and Shiro easily under his spell.

Not Lance though.

Lance doesn't trust the Galran prince one bit, and he's made his stance very clear. But rather than taking offense, Lotor has taken that distrust and turned it into a game in which Lance does not know the rules and Lotor holds all the cards.

And this game...

This game is far, far from over.

When Optimism Breaks

Keith is forced to make a call on a mission gone wrong that ends with Lance hurt and both of them captured by the Galra Empire. Keith has no doubt in his mind that he’s going to keep the attention on himself, especially when he finds out that the Black Paladin was the original target. Except what they want from Keith is not something he can do and Lance is forced to pay that price of refusal in blood. But it's a sacrifice he's willing to make to protect all those he loves and he makes sure Keith knows that. Except then they find out what the real cost to keep the universe, to keep the rest of their team safe is… and it’s not something either of them can afford.

The Purity of Sin

Lance's first diplomatic mission had gone wrong. Very, very wrong.

Instead of allies on planet Macka, he and Keith found only enemies who want to sacrifice them to their Goddess.

The two Paladins are going to have to work together to survive the harsh desert, severe injury and relentless pursuit with the added problem that in addition to losing copious amounts of blood Lance is losing his senses.

And that challenge is made even more so given the fact Lance's Druid handler is still alive and the Empire isn't going to let go of their trained assassin quite so easily...

His only hope is an escape alongside Shiro and Keith. But the clock is ticking as Lotor’s experiments and methods grow more cruel, more violent, and if they don’t escape soon… the only freedom any of them will find will be in death.
