Jerejean who always listen to each other and make sure everyone around does too. Not like it’s an issue with Jeremy who’s been a captain for years. But when Lucas adds a snarky comment, interrupting Jeremy mid speech, Jean’s glare is enough to silence him til the meeting is over. Then they’re at the party, and music is so loud, and everyone is talking, trying to outshout each other. Jean opens his mouth to ask about the drinks, but no one’s listening. Except for Jeremy. Jeremy always pays attention. He claps his hands once with a loud “guys!”, and it is enough to make several heads turn their way.

Jeremy pushes himself up slightly in bed, only to be pulled right back by a broad hand closing around his waist, pressing him into the firm warmth of the chest behind him. Jeremy would never admit how much he likes that quiet, possessive gesture, but he lets it happen again every morning.

Jean playing a uno reverse on Jeremy in the broken cage and telling him, "We're partners. Stop leaving me behind."

And that word, "partners", has longing going through Jeremy, and it's so sharp and overwhelming. He thinks of Adi and Rhemann, he thinks of their 30+ years of happiness, of belonging, of love. And he can't help but blurt out, bitter and exhausted and heartbroken, "Is that all I am to you?"

He snaps his mouth shut, but it's already too late. The words are there, out in the open, and his guilt is immediate and immense, because he's already asked so much of Jean. He can't ask for more.

And he opens his mouth to apologize, to backtrack, but Jean grabs his chin instead and says, "You're everything to me." And his fingers are shaking and his eyes are blown wide, all frustrated yearning, and his gaze falls to Jeremy's mouth and he swallows roughly, once, twice, and Jeremy thinks, "Oh."

the comedic potential of jerejean and andreil being in the same room together for the first time for the trial and their potential arguments. neil saying something very neil-like to jeremy because he doesn’t trust jeremy (yet) and jean is immediately threatening to murder neil for speaking to his jeremy like that which of course triggers an answer from andrew and then at last jeremy has to chime in and be like “ALRIGHT guys let’s just all calm down shall we. too many threats of murder in less than a minute. we’re not doing this.” and they all actually listen to him. yes even neil.
