- we have a big au we’ve been planning for a while called ourstreet, it’s basically a self indulgent “hey let’s thrown in all our fav head canons, fix the retconned stuff, and include characters like Vylad more” type of au? (I know some people would call it a rewrite but we aren’t 100% comfortable with that term so yk)

- we might reblog art from @pluto-glow or @hyena-paws and tag it as “my art”, that’s cuz those are also both our blogs (hi we have too many side blogs syndrome)

- speaking of art if you’re gonna use our art credit us feel free to send in requests or art ideas, especially screenshots to redraw, but don’t pressure us

This may be the best and dumbest piece of MyStreet world building that I think about objectively too much, so I have to infect Tumblr with my brain worms.

Because werewolves and meif'wa exist, there are certain phrases that we English speakers might commonly use that have VERY different connotations.

In our world calling someone a pussy is (usually) used as an insult, a synonym for calling them a coward. But if you said that to Nana or any other meif'wa character it's like calling them a slur. Michi likes being called a pussy though because Michi is a freak who would be into being called slurs (relatable).

Son of a bitch might be my favorite swear phrase, but in MyStreet it's a BIG no-no to say it if you aren't a werewolf. Sorry, calling someone a bitch is a werewolf only thing, especially if they're a girl, and it's a strong fucking word. Aaron once got in a really bad fight with Melissa and yelled at her to "stop being such a bitch", and it hurt her so badly that he stopped caring about whatever they were fighting over and was profusely apologizing for the rest of the day.

Blaze really likes to throw it around casually, especially the phrase son of a bitch in response to inconveniences, or calling someone a dumb bitch while he's playing games online. He loves trying to get non werewolves to say it too, because it's funny to him. I can just imagine him and Aphmau hanging out together and he suddenly looks at her and says "You can call me a bitch if you want. I won't tell anyone." She is not the only person he's done this to.

Anyways that's it, the entire post is that bitch and pussy are equivalent to slurs in MyStreet and that's the peak of comedy to me

i kinda wish we got Laur/Sasha friendship in PDH. like two losers who don't have the same friends anymore but they grew up together and she sees his dad as her own dad and they smoke together during school hours.

Aph goes to study at Laur's one day with garroth and sasha is on his sofa in her jammies, sleeping, and he has to explain that she sleeps over sometimes because family problems and all.

Sasha who learned to DIY her alt fashion from Cadenza and will always call Gene and Zenix posers for buying their edgy clothes instead of making them.

oops! haven't touched this since last year here's a taste of something i'm working on for ourstreet (my mystreet au)

This takes place sometime during when angels fall

“Oh I hope this works.” He closes his eyes and clears his throat, once he opens his eyes again they are fully black. “╎ ∷ᒷꖎᒷᔑᓭᒷ ǁ𝙹⚍ ⎓∷𝙹ᒲ ℸ⍑ᒷ╎∷ ᓵ𝙹リℸ∷𝙹ꖎ.” 

Ein gasped for air, feeling like he hadn’t actually breathed in years. He fumbled, almost falling over but getting caught by the white haired man in a suit standing in front of him. Ein- Ein recognized this guy, why couldn’t he remember his name. 

“Woah there, kid.” The man chuckled. “Thank the Divine Warriors that worked.” Ein tried to take in his surroundings, the room they were in was pretty bare bones. The walls and ceiling were white, other than a table and a couple chairs in the corner, there wasn’t anything in it but the two of them. 

“Where- where are we? What happened?” Ein asked, trying to remember but- “I don’t- remember anything? It’s all foggy.” 

“I wish I could explain, kid, but we don’t have the time right now.” The man pulled a few things out of his pocket and held them out for Ein to take. “Take this burner, I made sure it can’t be traced. Don’t call me first, and don’t pick up if it’s a number that you don’t recognize.” 

“Stranger danger rules, got it. But why-” Ein started to ask, but the man cut him off. 

“-When you leave this room take a left and follow that hallway until you find a metal door. That will take you outside. If anyone asks, you’re doing something for Mr. Valkrum. Can you repeat that name back to me?” The man continued. 

“Mr. Valkrum?” Ein responded. “Who’s that?” 

“Me, but when it’s just us you can call me Terry.” Terry explained. “Except when my hair is slicked back, avoid me at all costs without raising suspicion when my hair is slicked back.” 

“Ok? This is a lot to follow.” Ein commented, trying to make a mental list of it all. 

“Keep these sunglasses on whenever you’re around people in uniforms. They cannot see your eyes.” Terry said, handing Ein a pair of sunglasses. “Oh, if you see- your dad- avoid him too.” Terry added at the end there. 

“My dad? Wait-” Ein started again, but got interrupted. 

“-I know, that probably just made everything more confusing-” Terry started before Ein interrupted this time. 

“-No no, my dad and I don’t always get along, I’m not complaining about that part. I’m just confused why he’s- here of all places?” Ein explained. 

“Do you remember the kind of people your dad works with?” Terry asked. 

“I wish I didn’t.” Ein commented. 

“Some of them and your dad have gotten the police on their side.” Terry explained. 

“You’re- you’re joking.” Ein responded, shocked, his ears turning down. That wasn’t good, shit that really wasn’t good.

idr if I’ve talked yet about dante and gene’s relationship in my mystreet au yet, but oh well i’m doing it again

so yk the two of them basically grew up with a single mom. dante wasn’t old enough to remember their pos dad, but gene is and he avoids any of dante’s questions about him. even with all the shit gene got up to in hs, he tries to keep up appearances to dante and their mom. their mom because he doesn’t want to worry her, and to dante because gene knows dante looks up to him. gene doesn’t know why, he doesn’t get why someone would look up to him of all people, but dante does so gene tries to make the best of it

meanwhile dante doesn’t remember their dad, he just knows that gene avoids talking about him, especially around their mom. and their mom glares at her parents whenever they try to bring him up. gene really stepped up though when their dad left, as much as a kid could. but gene did some small jobs here and there to help their mom with groceries until she got a big promotion, and gene helped take care of dante when their mom couldn’t. he babysat dante, got him snacks after school, helped him with his homework. dante wanted to be just like gene someday, took him a while to realize that included being a guy too (surprise, trans dante)

in gene’s eyes he was a menace, a screw up, he was bored in school and he made it everyone’s problem. to dante, gene was his hero.

gene saw all the bad parts of himself, and dante saw all the good

ok hear me out, I’m trying to piece together some of nana’s stuff for ourstreet (my mystreet au)

in this i was considering having nana go through her whole serious phase after high school? like people weren’t taking her seriously, and she got some comments from her family, so she died her hair to a more muted pink, started dressing more serious business woman esc, and started acting differently and hiding her love of cute things and all that. she gets a super serious degree in business (which eventually helps her with opening the cafe) when she moved away for college. she doesn’t move back to the area until aph and katelyn ask her to move in, and they hadn’t actually seen her in person for a long time, so aph and katelyn are a little surprised when their high school best friend shows up and she’s a completely different person

at first they’re confused, but she says she grew up in college, and they accept that at first. but over time aph starts getting suspicious and can tell that nana isn’t happy. eventually one thing leads to another, and nana breaks down crying to them one night and explains everything, and something something power of friendship, they help her start being herself again

but nana’s still a little- hesitant? bad experiences yk, she doesn’t want to go back to not being taken seriously like she used to be, and it’s hard to unlearn stuff like that (speaking from experience). at some point she has a big moment with zane that help changes everything for her. it’s just one comment he made in passing, but it has a massive impact on nana

i know this is really different for nana, and this is still very much a work in progress, i’m still ironing out a lot of the details. i wanted to change some things about her? while still keeping that plot in there of her learning how to be herself, and with zane making a huge impact on her in that, since that part of her character has always been really important to me. i’m pulling it in earlier than it actually happens in mystreet? which is part of what i’m debating over, but i’m planning on this being something she works on for a long time since yk it can take a while to unlearn stuff you’ve been doing for so long

in my mystreet au, in between seasons 4 and 5 Aaron’s hair got really grown out partially from the bed rest, and partially because a side effect of some of the healing magic that was used was that it sped up hair growth

meanwhile Aphmau cut her hair shorter again. in high school her hair was closer to a bob, she was reminiscing and looking back at old pictures, and she needed a change, so she did an impulsive hair chop. someone helped her clean it up (I haven’t decided who yet)

so when they had their big meeting again, part of it was a “you grew your hair out” “your hair looks like it did back when we met” moment. which was ofc followed by Aph getting excited about possibly getting to braid his hair

I’ve gone back and forth a bit on Gene and Zenix’s jobs before the cafe turned bar, but rn at least I’m leaning towards Zenix was a tattoo apprentice, and Gene was a bar tender

they had an agree going that Gene would give Zenix free/discount drinks at the bar he worked at in exchange for tattoos, but once the bar found out Gene got fired and that’s how he got to the situation in s3 where he applies to the cafe because he’s kinda desperate

I finally watched that My World video and I’m fucking obsessed with the “Katelyn, chair.” part

like I was a little unsure going into this with the whole flamethrower and angels scene if this was gonna like fit with the kind of writing that was in diaries and mystreet, or if it’ll be closer to the uh- recent content

but Zane being out in the middle of a forest and making his guard carry a chair all that way for him is everything

plus his gay little way of sitting in it

Although Mystreet has its flaws, I get genuine joy out of watching it. Whenever I rewatch it, I feel nostalgic. It was a show I grew up with, and it will always have a special place in my heart. It was also the first ever fandom I joined, and it got me more aquatinted with fandom spaces as a whole.

I’m genuinely excited to see its conclusion next year. ❤️

guys to me Garroth is actually gigantic (especially in mcd and mystreet, not so much pdh or fcu). like 6’4-5” gigantic. big burly man. absolutely huge. his Jury form in mcd makes him 6’8”

Laurance is six feet tops. if even that. he’s probably a little shorter. and he’s also kind of lanky. like. sleeper build i feel like idk. his Shadow Knight form makes him a little bulkier and 7’ and he brags about being taller than Garroth in that form

Dante is 5’9 1/2” and he makes sure you add that half inch. he pretends to be the tallest because six foot is “the woman’s ideal man” but anyone with eyes can see he’s like three inches below that. he used to get sad that he didn’t have an alternate form that changed his height but then he handed Garroth and Laurance’s asses to them during that spar in mcd season 2

Travis is 5’10” and he lies about being six foot. often. he got the short end of the stick because unfortunately his demon form only makes him like two inches taller while it made the Demon Warlock almost a foot taller. he joked one time that that’s the reason he doesn’t like that form

Katelyn is six foot on the dot in all universes. she uses herself as a measurement when guys tell her they’re six foot. she takes great pride in being tall. she’s actually taller than Laurance by just a smidge and that fact destroys him.

Aphmau (named Adelaide in my mcd rewrite) is 5’5”. she’s average height but next to all of her tall ass guards and friends she still looks short as hell.

Zane is also tall. not as tall as Garroth but he’s like 6’1-2”. he has minor scoliosis though (only in pdh/mystreet) so it makes him look a tad shorter. in mcd he absolutely wore shoes with thick soles to make himself seem taller and more intimidating. his robes covered his shoes though so nobody knew.

Vylad however is only 5’8” (the tall gene came from Garte). he’s the shortest of the trio and that’s another big reason why people don’t typically assume he’s the third Ro’Meave brother, since being unreasonably tall is an iconic gene for the Ro’Meave family. in mcd it’s another thing that makes him self conscious about being an affair baby and in mystreet it gives him more reason to distance himself from his family (that’s a whole spiel i’ll go on it later)

Lucinda is 5’7”. she’s very curvy and seems like she wouldn’t be very strong but she can lift a little more than her own weight. she used to glamour herself to make herself seem a little shorter because she didn’t like being above average height

Nicole is 5’3”. she’s also very light. she taught herself martial arts in modern universes because she didn’t want to get kidnapped. the same could be said for mcd but she probably didn’t start doing that until she and Garroth got engaged

Nana is 5’4”. she’s from Tu’la and people, especially meif’wa, are typically shorter there. if she were in Tu’la she would actually be considered on the slightly taller side. she isn’t very strong but her magicks allows her to basically become a necromancer if she’s desperate enough (she never has been)

Aaron is 5’11” but so many people think he’s six feet. like he’ll say 5’11” and people say “no you look six feet” and then he says six feet and people are like “no not quite” so he uses them interchangeably. unfortunately Katelyn is not the accurate form of measurement for him because some days he’s as tall as her and others he’s slightly shorter (and he’s wearing the exact same outfit)
