Swap of the Geromes [FeMorgan || Gerome || DraGerome][M!A]
What the— Gerome’s first flailing caught Morgan unawares, accustomed to the hatchling’s complacency about naked female bodies. The girl winced as his small but sharp claws dug into her bare skin, leaving angry red lines where he scratched, but ignored them for the moment to try and soothe the panicking dragonling.
"Jesaiah, what’s - ow! What’s wrong? Shh, shh, it’s okay— ow! Hey, calm down, will you?"
The dragon’s frightened squawks had drawn the attention of the few other women who were present, and most of them were just as dumbfounded about he sudden change of behaviour. The raven politely declined any offers for help, but after a few more moments of struggle it was clear that Gerome wasn’t going to calm down anytime soon. Inwardly, the young tactician steeled herself and took a breath. She’d never thought she’d actually have to do this, but had practiced it with Cherche until the older woman had approved for that hypothetical just-in-case, which had risen now. Firmly closing her hand around the dragon’s snout - but not hard enough to hurt him - she forced the pink reptile to look a her and mustered the sternest tone she had
"Jesaiah, that is enough."
Never had she had to discipline Gerome. The hatchling had, from the very beginning, been quick to learn her habits and trusted that everything she did was for his own benefit. This was definitely abnormal behaviour for him, and it left the half-taguel incredibly concerned. What was going on? Was he sick, perhaps? A developmental stage? Perhaps a visit to Cherche was in order…
Gerome immediately stopped panicking when he realized that he could no longer open up his mouth. He breathed deeply to calm himself down.
It's okay... he thought to himself. Yes, I'm, somehow, in this hatchling's body. None of these women know who I really am... I should just avoid looking at them.
He just hoped that everything would go completely normally. If it did, then he needn't worry about mentioning this strange event to anyone. He had to be the only one to worry about it.
(( Gerome has 102 followers, Soren has 162. I feel like I should do something to celebrate, but I don't know what.
Any suggestions?))
Swap of the Geromes [FeMorgan || Gerome || DraGerome][M!A]
Tuneless humming followed Morgan as she ambled to the women’s bathing tent. There were a few others there, all of whom greeted Morgan and her dragon as they saw her. The pink reptile had quickly become a common sight around the camp; not one person who knew of the dragon didn’t associate with the girl who raised him. The girl greeted them back, her responses varying depending on how often she saw them and what was said to her, and then it was into the tent to freshen up for the day.
First order of business was teeth. The Laurent of her time had developed a peculiar paste based on taguel medicines that was useful for cleaning teeth; as a key part in the development, the girl had memorized the exact recipe, and had replicated as she saw fit. When Gerome had first hatched, she’d used small amounts to test its safety to the dragon, and now was using it regularly to help him at least keep him from having terrible breath.
The half-taguel was gentle with him, of course, as she used a small soft brush to apply the paste. Gerome had resisted the cleaning at first, but had come to accept its benefits, and would usually sit placidly and obediently in her lap as she cleaned him. A part of her wondered if his physiology would allow him to grip the brush himself one day; it was a bit of a flight of fancy of hers that she would be able to brush her teeth along with the dragon, but perhaps that was a little too far-fetched. Once she’d scrubbed his budding fangs clean, she gave him a bowl of water to rinse his mouth out with, and proceeded to brush her own teeth.
Then it was bath time. Storing her belongings in a basket, Morgan cradled the hatchling in her arms and strode into the bathing area.
Gerome was definitely distraught when Morgan began to brush his teeth for him - even though she was gentle, it still felt rather strange to be babied in such a manner. He resisted at first, much like the actual dragon had done when he was younger, but soon he relaxed, feeling safer.
But he soon began to resist again once they entered the bathing area. He struggled in Morgan's arms in a futile attempt to get away. Of course, he accidentally laid eyes on some of the female soldiers bathing; which was why he was trying to get away in the first place. While letting out panicked squawks, Gerome tried to cause himself to fall from Morgan's arms by flailing madly.
Your egg is hatching!
Your egg begins to shake and shutter violently as the creature inside fights to break free from its thin containment. Soon a crack forms at the base of your egg and the pieces of shell fragments slowly start to chip away. Soft chirps and coos can be made audible as of this point.
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a healthy and beautiful Guardian of Nature dragon! Please take care of this dragon, for they’re depending on you for a happy and healthy life!
{{The rate of how fast your dragon grows up and its gender is up to you. If you are in need of evolution pictures you can either for them. Also if it’s not too much of a hassle, could you please tag “timebrokentactics” in the hatching of your egg? I would love to read everyone’s reactions! Once again thank you for taking part in my kiriban!}}
Gerome was tending to Minerva, occasionally glancing over at the egg; it was still in the basket that Morgan had left it in. When he noticed it begin to move, he quickly made his way to the basket's side and watched eagerly. Once the hatchling had freed itself, it looked up at Gerome and chirped. The wyvern rider picked it up and held it out in front of himself, looking over it. He smiled.
He sat there for a while with Minerva, cooing over his new dragon friend. Until he finally came up with a name. Maria.
A special delivery has arrived!
Carefully cradling the basket in both arms, Morgan approached the tent of the to-be dragon owner. She had confidence that they would be able to take care of this beautiful, sadly abandoned treasure, yet in that small amount of time she'd been with this bundle, she was already growing attached to it. Nonetheless, she kissed the lump in the blankets softly, and told herself the reality: twenty dragon eggs was far too much for one girl to handle.
"Good luck, little one," she murmured, and set the basket down before turning and running off.
Swathed in layers of blanket, a beautiful egg lays nestled in the basket, warm to the touch and pulsating softly. The glowing colours of the egg seem to swirl with each pulse.
Slipped beneath the covers is a folded note, filled with neat, precise writing.
Salutations!
This dragon egg is for you; please take care of this precious life that you have been given, and expect it to hatch soon! May your days together be filled with mutual love and joy!

{{Thank you for participating in my Kiriban 200! Please be patient as I prepare the rest of this giveaway so that your new dragon may hatch. Also, I would dearly love to see your character's reaction to their new egg; please tag "timebrokentactics" when you post this submission so I may read! Thank you!!}}
Gerome was up early in the morning, as usual, and got dressed quickly to go check on Minerva. As he stepped out of the tent, he noticed the small basket full of blankets on the floor.
"What's this...?" he asked himself, picking the basket up and taking it inside his tent. He carefully pulled back the covers to see the small blue egg inside. He immediately recognized it as a wyvern egg; he was all too familiar with the shape, texture, and other features all wyvern eggs seemed to have.
A small smile graced the wyvern lord's face as he traced his finger down the egg's smooth surface. It's warm... he thought.
Carefully, again, he put the egg back in it's basket and took it with him when he went to check on Minerva.
Unexpected Clutch || Kiriban 200 Giveaway
Maybe it had been a bad idea to travel the Outrealms alone. Still, Morgan plowed on into this unknown territory, devoid of human life except her. Gerome curled around her shoulders, his head raised, alert. Not unusual behaviour, but he seemed more tense than usual.
“Gerome, is something bothering y—”
Something crunched beneath her feet, and the girl looked down to see the discarded eggshell of… something. Wait, this shape… Dropping to her knees, Morgan lifted up a shard of the shell, turning it around in her hands. Gerome leaned forward sniffing it, before making a startlingly loud screech and bounding off her shoulder.
“Wh—!? Hey, Gerome!”
She gave chase. What had gotten into her dragon!? Could this place be what she thought it was? The shell looked like—
There he was! The pink hatchling was mewling and whistling at a pile of brightly coloured rocks. No, not rocks! Eggs. Morgan’s memory flashed back to the basket where Gerome’s egg had been left at her tent. Carefully she reached out to touch one. Warm. They were still warm. Did they yet have life? One, two, three… How had this many of them gotten out here? Looking around, Morgan could see signs of dragon life, dragon nests. But why only this pile? Then it clicked.
Abandoned. For whatever reason, these poor eggs had been left behind, unwanted by their parents. Roughly she brushed the tears from her eyes, her mouth setting in a firm, determined line.
“I’ll save you all,” she whispered to the eggs. “Every one of you. I promise.”
{{The first twenty (20) RP blogs to reblog this post will get a totally randomized egg. Everything is luck of the draw, so whether or not the dragon ends up being a fit for your character or not isn’t up to me!}}
Two Wyvern Lords
Haar was leaning up against a tree while he was asleep. His wyvern, Ladon, was laying right next to him to keep an eye out for anything that would happen while his master was asleep. He was usually a hard one to wake up. Ladon perked his head up when he heard something.
Gerome had been hovering overhead for some time. In the end, he finally decided to command Minerva to land where they were. Dismounting the wyvern, the rider looked around the unfamiliar area. He didn't notice the other wyvern lord peacefully resting.
He muttered to himself, wondering how far Minerva had flown. It was definitely further than he wanted. How would he find his way back to Ylisse?
... In a way, this may be better for him. He wouldn't have to deal with protecting the others, which is something he knew he was likely to fail in doing.
Drunken... friends? || Gerome & FeMorgan ||
Well, that was definitely a shock. Morgan winced as she slowly picked herself up off the ground, her rear smarting. How odd; she was never one to be clumsy (that was Cynthia’s job), so why did a sharp turn do her in? Regardless, it seemed that if she moved without making sudden actions she was okay. Relatively okay. The world was starting to rock a little, swimming before her eyes, but if she shut them it was a little better.
A grunt from her side, and she turned to see Gerome clutching his brow. Out of concern she moved closer, only to remember who it was she was approaching and stopped.
“N-no, I-I’m fine… Actually, a-are you okay?”
What was going on? The longer they stayed here the stranger their symptoms were getting. Could the tonic have backfired? They had to tell Stahl before he started giving this out…
“C-can you walk? We should hurry to Stahl and see if he’s got an antidote… I-I think…”
"I... I'm fine," Gerome muttered, not wanting the tactician to be overly concerned about him, "just a headache..." 'Headache' wasn't the correct term to use - he felt more like he'd taken one of Noire's arrows to the forehead.
The wyvern lord took an experimental step forward, wobbled and just managed to stop himself from falling to the floor. He gulped and closed his eyes. This isn't going to be easy... He thought. But, for the sake of winning the war, he couldn't allow anyone else to end up in the almost pathetic state that he and Morgan had been reduced to.
Gerome awoke in a cold sweat for the fourth time that night. Damn... he scowled. The whole night had been plagued with terrible nightmares. Again, he worried for the safety of his beloved wyvern. He didn't bother changing out of his sleeping clothes, since he was still tired enough to rest again. However, he pulled on a pair of boots and made his way to Minerva's pen.
The wyvern could sense the stress that Gerome was feeling and nuzzled her snout against her rider's cheek comfortingly. It seemed to work, as Gerome smiled at his friend. "Thank you, Minerva..." he sighed, stroking her snout.
Swap of the Geromes [FeMorgan || Gerome || DraGerome][M!A]
Why was it cold? Why was the bed so small? Gerome blinked owlishly, stretching in a feline manner as he so normally did… wait. Where was his tail? Why was the bed so cramped? Shocked, the dragon let out a cry of alarm - a cry that was much too deep - even as he lost his balance and toppled to the ground. What? What? What was going on???? Why was he alone? This wasn’t his tent. This wasn’t Mommy’s tent. Where was his mommy?
“Morgy?”
A yelp of surprise. He could talk!? Startled, he looked down. Skin! No scales! Fingers! Hands! Clothes! He lifted his hands to touch his face and head. Skin! No horns! Hair!!! What was happening? Scrambling up, almost stumbling as he was still disoriented in this completely new body, Gerome rushed over to where he’d spotted a mirror.
A shocked, wide-eyed human face stared back at him.
“What!?”“
Another distressed yelp, and he stumbled backwards, wincing as he landed hard on his now-human rear. A whine escaped him, but the pain didn’t abate his confusion. What had happened? How had he turned human? Why was he in a different tent? Most importantly… Where was Mommy Morgan?? Panicked, he spun on his heel and burst out of the tent.
——————————————————————————————-
A few days after Gerome had hatched, Morgan had realized the benefit of keeping the hatchling around her during training, and ever since had used him as added weight when training. Not that the dragon had ever minded, or even realized that his list of occupations included training aid; he’d always seemed quite content to simply drape himself around her shoulders as she jogged around the camp, or lie on her stomach or back when she did sit-ups and push-ups.
And so it was, the young tactician stepped out of her tent with her dragon around her shoulders and began her daily circuits around the camp. It was a habit that she had sadly been unable to keep to once the wars with the Risen started, so now that she had a camp to actually run around again, she considered it a treasured privilege to be able to get back into her old routine. Ten laps around the perimeter, only waving to whomever she met along the way, then into the training yard for after-run stretches and muscle training. Five hundred sit ups, then another five hundred push-ups. There wasn’t anyone to spar with today, so the raven settled for sword stroke practice.
Once that was done, the girl looked around. No one was around… good. As quickly as she could she stripped down to her taguel armor and transformed. The feeling of being in her beast form was liberating. Morgan could feel the power in her mighty back legs, and her senses increased further. She could smell her own sweat, the sun-warmed dirt on the ground, the aromas from the kitchens as the day’s cooking crew set about providing breakfast. She could hear Gerome’s breathing, the faint bustle of the various people about in the morning, the creak of the wood of the wooden dummies as the wind pushed on them.
Knowing that she would likely break the dummies if she attacked them, the taguel girl settled for shadow fencing instead, adapting herself back into the movements and range of her taguel body. Once that was done she was ready for the rest of the day.
Transforming back into her human form and quickly slipping back into her clothes, Morgan carried Gerome back to her tent to grab their toiletries. Before they left again, the girl opened her hatchling’s mouth to check his growing fangs.
“Even growth, full set… well, the books say wyvern teeth come out around a month so this should be okay…” A smile. “But we still gotta make sure your teethies are all nice and clean, right Gerome?”
And cradling him in her arm, she shouldered her bag of toiletries and headed for the bathing tent.
Gerome had to admit that, even though he was seeing the world through a wyvern's eyes now, he still thought that Morgan's training routine was impressive. He couldn't think of anyone else in the camp who exerted themselves as much as the tactician did; and so regularly as well.
Another thing he had to admit was that he didn't know that Morgan had the ability to become a taguel. He watched with awe as she trained, his claws holding onto her tightly. He didn't want to learn anything about the people in this time period, but... learning more about Morgan made Gerome feel somewhat... happy. Maybe it was just the wyvern's affection rubbing off him.
When Morgan opened up his mouth, Gerome tried to shut it again, but the wyvern's body was too weak to fight against Morgan, even though she was being gentle with him.
... Teethies? Gerome would have laughed if he could. So, he wasn't the only one who spoke in such an affectionate manner to his wyvern.
Drunken... friends? || Gerome & FeMorgan ||
Feeling a hand on her back, Morgan reached out to gently push it away, nodding when she heard Gerome ask about her well-being. Once she’d cleared her airway, she straightened back up.
“Y-yeah, I am now.”
Well, she wasn’t choking anymore so her physical health was fine, but she was acutely aware of the spot on her spine that he’d patted, and the hand that had come in contact with his arm. Why did I do that? Ugh, I feel like an idiot… By the time she’d pushed the thoughts away and managed to fight the faint blush down, the wyvern lord had already drained his share of the experimental potion and was wiping his mouth clean. Well, he certainly had stones to down it even though they hadn’t even affirmed its safety yet. Not wanting to insult Stahl by wasting, Morgan gazed down at her now half-empty flask before tipping it back and downing the rest. Now that she knew what to expect, the burn wasn’t nearly as shocking, but it still scalded its way down her throat when she swallowed it. The girl made a faint grimace.
“Y-yes, it does,” she agreed, now studying the strange residue that was left on the sides of the bottle. “It’s also got an unusual aftertaste, and it leaves a clear residue that looks somewhat like animal oil. Doesn’t seem to have much of an invigorating effect or anything. It’s strangely warming though… perhaps it’s better as a warming agent in the cold season than as a health tonic.”
She didn’t have a notebook, which was why she’d dictated her observations out loud. It was more for herself, an old habit she’d picked up since her research days with Laurent, and kept to help her remember things more clearly. It had become so second nature that she’d shed most of her nervousness around Gerome until she lowered her empty flask and remembered he was there.
“O-oh. U-uhm… s-sorry. Bad habit… L-let’s go… err… tell Stahl about it—”
Morgan turned, every intention to walk back the way they’d come to report to Stahl, when suddenly the ground swam and she felt her knees buckle. With a gasp she toppled, her head spinning.
Gerome lowered his hand from Morgan's back. "Good... So long as you are well." He muttered.
He listened to Morgan speak her findings, seemingly interested in what she had to say.
"Do not apologize." He said, turning his head in the direction of Stahl's tent upon Morgan mentioning his name. But, when he did, he felt as though his head would have come loose and fallen off his neck there and then. He held his head in one of his hands and closed his eyes. "Ngh..." When he opened them again, he noticed Morgan on the floor.
"M-Morgan.. are you hurt?"
"You're quite stoic, Gerome."
"Hmph..." Gerome attempted to show no interest in Nah and turned away.
“You’re so..” finish it in my ask.
