               if  anyone  had  asked  gaea,  she  would  have  said  this  had  been  a  long  time  coming.      she  certainly  hadn’t  become  his  friend,  reached  out  to  him,  because  she  had  wanted  to  be  with  him.      her  attraction  had  been  there  since  the  beginning  and  she  had  acknowledged,  tried  pushing  it  down  and  then  realized  it  was  an  unachievable  goal.      and  that  was  okay.      is  okay.      she  wouldn’t  change  a  thing  about  her  feelings  or  how  things  had  developed  between  them:  casual  hang - outs  and  coy  flirting,  the  awkwardness  of  admitting  feelings  and  not  being  sure  how  the  other  would  react.      and  now  here  they  are,  walking  up  to  her  apartment  after  a  date.       she  had  invited  him  up  when  he  had  walked  her  to  her  door.      she  decided  not  to  skip  the  step  about  a  drink.

               the  dress  gaea  had  worn  had  been  one  of  her  favorites,  but  it  is  the  lingerie  beneath  that  makes  her  nervous.      this  isn’t  some  one  night  stand  happy  to  stick  his  dick  anywhere.      this  is  cainneach,  her  co - worker  and  partner  (  because  boyfriend  is  too  flippant  a  word  for  what  he  is  to  her  )  and  someone  she  can  see  being  much  more  than  that.      she  had  lead  him  back  toward  her  bed,  told  him  to  watch  as  she  reached  to  untie  the  fabric  of  her  dress.     she  wonders  if  he  can  hear  her  heart  thundering,  the  breath  she  inhales  as  the  fabric  falls  to  the  carpet.      he  doesn’t  need  to  know  she  bought  the  set  for  him,  doesn’t  need  to  know  how  long  she  has  been  wanting  him.

               there  are  so  many  sprawling  halls  in  skyhold  and  they  are  fortunate  to  be  at  the  end  of  a  shorter one.  not  because  of  its  actual  design  but  rather  because  of  time  and  a  well -  aimed  trebuchet.  whatever  rooms  it  had  once  held  beyond  theirs  was  lost.  and  on  the  list  of  things  that  needed  to  be  renovated ,  their  hall  was  near  the  bottom  of  the  list.  gaea  and  cain  had  no  issues  with  it ;  they  had  a  roof  over  their  head  and  only  one  neighbor.  a  neighbor  the  avvar ,  unfortunately ,  had  once  had  relations  with.  a  neighbor  who  made  it  a  point  to  approach  her  and  state  he  could  do  far  better  than  her  elven  lover.  

               before  the  emerald  graves ,  before  cainneach ,  gaea  had  sought  companionship  with  near  anyone  that  had  approached  her.  the  iron  bull  and  her  had  very  similar  reputations  and  they  ofter  made  jokes  about  it ;  they  were  just  as  unashamed  as  the  other.  but  then  her  elven  lover  had  joined  the  inquisition ,  had  fought  beside  her ,  had  kissed  her  ,  had  claimed  her—  the  idea  of  being  with  anyone  else  had  left  her  a  long  time  ago.  even  before  the  first  time  their  lips  had  met.

               “  do  you  think  he’s  in  his  room ?  ”  the  words  are  whispered  into  her  ear ,  his  lips  brushing  the  skin  of  it.  they’re  not  in  the  privacy  of  their  own ,  his  body  pressing  hers  back  into  the  wall  across  from  their  door.  her  knees  are  hooked  over  his  elbows ,  one  of  her  hands  gripping  the  curtain  to  her  right  while  the  other  arm  is  slung  over  his  shoulders.  “  do  you  think  this  will  make  him  realize ?  ”  a  particularly  rough  buck  up  into  her  has  her  crying  out  and  her  hand  slaps  over  her  mouth ,  her  eyes  wide  as  gaea  stares  into  his.  this  is  so  much  more  open  than  their  other  trysts  and  yet ,  the  wet  sounds  coming  from  where  they  are  joined  say  more  than  she  can.  the  avvar  likes  it.

               there’s  a  sound  at  the  stairs  leading  to  their  hall  and  gaea  is  not  sure  how  she  catches  it ,  overwhelmed  as  she  is.  her  head  turns  to  the  side  and  a  gasp  tears  from  her  throat ,  nails  digging  into  cain’s  shoulders  as  she  meets  the  eyes  of  the  very  neighbor  that  has  caused  them  so  much  trouble.  cainneach  shifts ,  her  eyes  rolling  back  as  he  brushes  against  something  inside  her  that  feels  too  good.  “  hello ,  neighbor.  ”

I spend too much time thinking about fucking you.

               her  hand  immediately  smacks  the  back  of  his  one ,  the  one  laying  on  her  thigh.  his  fingers  have  already  rucked  up  the  skirt  of  her  dress  higher  than  is  decent  (  “  you  ask  for  it ,  ”  he  whispered  into  her  ear ,  grinning  as  gaea  doesn’t  stop  him  from  moving  the  material ,  “  every  time  you  wear  a  dress.  ”  )  and  the  table  and  other  side  of  the  booth  is  the  only  thing  blocking  everyone  from  catching  them.  vidic  snorts ,  brushing  his  fingers  against  the  sodden  material  between  her  thighs  and  giving  her  a  pointed  look.  she  hates  that  look.  it  brings  heat  to  her  cheeks,  makes  her  burn  beneath  her  skin.  she  gets  as  exasperated  with  him  as  she  does  aroused.

        Gaea is a very tactile person in general, but she has also noticed that in the beginning, Thranduil is more reserved and careful. Until that line is crossed, she will keep her hands to herself, for the most part. But she is definitely the kind of person that will use every opportunity she can to touch him.

🎶 Do they have a type?

        WILL SMITH GESTURE AT THRANDUIL.

        Honestly, Thranduil would have to break the deal in order for that to happen. Gaea is not good with communication; she is used to hiding her emotions. But he is good at drawing her out. She refuses to have lies between them. And whatever difference in opinions they have, whatever disagreements or fights, neither of them are the type to let them fester for long. He would have to be the one to end things and if he did, she could probably come up with a long list why.

        Gaea initially will be very submissive, as is her natural inclination. But as their relationship furthers, as her confidence grows and she sees them as equals— and no longer considers herself his devout subject— she will switch. She does still tend to follow, but she won't be a passive little bottom either in the end either.

Her sketchbook begins being filled with pictures of wedding dresses as well as the things she sees in his Halls. Though she would have been content with being his consort, the day that he asks her, Gaea cannot say, "YES!", quickly enough. Considering how we have been jumping along the timeline, they get to have their marital bliss for a long while.

   I’m not so sure about cute, but Gaea does enjoy calling him her king, lover and husband once after they are wed. She uses endearments more than cute nicknames, calls him her beloved and dear heart.

    Sensual. Back in Eos, it wasn’t about the build-up, it was about sex and the brief connection that came with it. With Thranduil, it’s utterly different. Gaea enjoys the build-up. Because he is not so openly affectionate in public, she settles for brief brushes of her fingers against his own, making sure he sees the look in her eyes from a distance. The energy builds until they’re alone and then it snaps when they can be together.

📖 What is their favorite outside of the bedroom activity to do with their partner?

   Lying in the grass reading, leaning back on a tree. It doesn’t matter if his head is on her lap or she is leaning against his side. If one of them falls asleep or they read together in hushed voices. The moments where they can be Thranduil and Gaea, and not the king and the one he is courting, the king and his queen, are precious.

    Cuddling. After sex or even if they don’t have sex. Being close to Thranduil, especially after the hesitance in the beginning, is everything to her. Doesn’t matter who is the little spoon. She just wants to be close to him, to be his person as he is hers, and that’s all that matters to her.

    Unfortunately, because of her low self-worth, Gaea can get jealous. And she will unfortunately hold that in and not say anything to Thranduil. Fortunately, he is very good at drawing her out and reassuring her even when she says nothing at all.

    Not necessarily. Gaea is already a very affectionate person and tactile. The only way her “demeanor” would change would be by her not holding back nearly as much.

    She does so in both. Again, because Thranduil is more reserved in public, she would follow his lead. But she will display affection in a variety of ways, appropriate for wherever they are.

    NO. Because of her low self - worth and her devotion to Thranduil, it wouldn’t be fair. He is her king and her husband and the father of her child and because of the fact they’re soulmates, it just wouldn’t work. And she’s possessive.

    Doesn’t matter; she’s Thranduil’s.

    Gaea is in love with love, but unfortunately, she doesn’t see herself as others do. It will take years for her to realize that Thranduil loves her for her and he isn’t going anywhere, but once she does, she will feel completely secure. Being comfortable can happen almost instantaneously.

    She would but it would probably be during stress or without even thinking about it. She is definitely the type that would see him do something, sigh and go, “Six, I love you.” And then absolutely panic because she worries he’s not at the same point she is.

    NO.

    Gaea wants as many children with Thranduil as feasible. She has adopted Legolas and Tauriel as her own, but there’s something about having children of their own, a perfect combination of them and a product of their love, that she loves. She loves all their children. And she’ll keep giving him children and wanting them until he says enough.

    ABSOLUTELY.

    Gaea did not until she met Thranduil. Especially considering they come from different worlds. The connection she felt for him instantly was overwhelming and, despite her romantic heart, too soon, she felt, considering he is a king and she had fallen from grace. But between her feelings and the Green and everything, and what we’ve discussed, YES, she absolutely believes in soulmates now.

    Very protective and it has nothing to do with believing he cannot handle himself. It really comes down to it being a part of her nature. She’s not prone to fighting for herself, verbally or physically, but for those she loves, she will arm herself accordingly. Whether it’s dispelling the rumors about him outside of their realm or jumping between him and an assassination attempt, she will protect Thranduil.

🚀 How far are they willing to go for the person they love?

    There is nothing she would not do for him, unless it would put their children in danger. Fortunately, he would never do anything like that.

    She does with Thranduil. Honestly, by the time he helps her find a place to stay, I believe she’s half in love with him already. That’s not just because of them being soulmates and something inside her lurching toward him, but because of how he speaks of his people, in general and what the trees have said about him. So it’s all too easy to fall in love with him.

📺 Do they share information about their relationships freely with friends and family?

    Gaea would scream it from the rooftops if it wouldn’t embarrass them both. And if everyone didn’t already know. When she is brought back to Eos, she tells all of her friends and buys a ring since the one Thranduil gave her did not come with her. ( Me, crying about the fact that Thranduil may wake up and just find a ring where his wife was? More likely than you think. )

    Absolutely not. For one, Gaea came from a world where she was basically an angel and she chose mankind over her gods. For another, she comes to Middle Earth with nothing. And above both of those things, she chose Thranduil because of who he was, not what he had or his station.

    Nothing makes her feel more safe than being in Thranduil’s arms.

               THE FACT IS, GAEA NEVER EXPECTED THIS WHEN TALON HAD FIRST APPROACHED HER. AS AN ACCOMPLISHED BOTANIST DEALING IN THE MORE DEADLY FAUNA AND FLORA, SHE HAD ANTICIPATED THE LAB. The gardens, the loft overlooking them; they were unnecessary and greatly appreciated. But even more than that, she would never have anticipated Reaper. He had been the monster that her father had threatened his enemies with, a major player in Talon. Living her life surrounded by sympathizers, she had heard all the rumors, all the stories, all the information that was circulating about him. THEY COULD NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

               The botanist is not STUPID; she is aware that the man she shares her bed with is dangerous. But his appearance is NOT MONSTROUS to her. SHE CHOSE HIM. It’s both a smack to the face of her creator and proof that she is more than he made her to be. Ardyn sits on the throne that should have been his. Her head rests on his lap and she looks at him with all the adoration his PEOPLE should have. When his hands tighten in the locks of her hair, when they go from caressing to GRIPPING, her lips part. When he presses her face further into his lap, A SILENT ORDER, little is easier than lifting her head and beginning to undo his pants.

I feel like I need to elaborate a bit. I don’t like throwing negativity on the dash; you guys don’t come here to deal with my shortcomings and my issues. I’m sorry for throwing up that short post before. I’ll be sure to throw up all the necessary tags about depression and such.

I feel like an absolute failure, tbh. I promised myself I wouldn’t get crazy and I would keep my followed a small number so I wouldn’t feel stressed out and yet, here I am. There are so many of you and you’re all so incredible and I just... Can’t keep up, I suppose. And I want to. God, do I want to. I do firmly believe and like having so many memes, especially from those who are my mains and my ships. But then I look at my followed number. And I think about how many of you I haven’t contacted. And how many I owe starters to. And how many of you there are, just in general.

I think I have my real life to blame. I’m going to be leaving my current job on Wednesday but weeks of trudging through thousands of prescriptions, hundreds of phone calls, being spit on, being yelled at, being grabbed, and having no rest day in the middle, no help besides one day girl that apparently hates my guts has just taken its toll. And I don’t sleep some times and I just

I feel like a failure. I am a failure. I think starting over and moving blogs would be a good idea but I just feel like I’ll be letting you guys down more.                SHE FEELS NO SMALL AMOUNT OF RELIEF AT HIS WORDS. If Gaea has confidence in anything, it is her magic and her gods. While she had wanted things to become amicable, they usually did not. This is once in a long line of attempts that her diplomacy and tongue have kept things from becoming more HOSTILE than they had begun. The coiled muscles of her body slacken. SHE believes HIM. Especially when his arrow is no longer pointed at her and hers.

The Avvar notices the way his eyes dart and she appreciates it. It speaks of his experience; WORDS CAN MEAN VERY LITTLE. It also means he won’t make the same mistake that so many others have, overlooking the women and man behind her. Silent observers who had dropped their own weapons as well, if not their guard. “YOU ARE NOT THE FIRST TO SAY THAT.”

How many now-Inquisition agents had she met simply pursuing her own tasks? Too many to count. Each of them had no set path, no inclination toward how they could help. Just the DESIRE. Gaea may be the only Avvar who left her hold for the cause, who saw that THE LADY OF THE SKIES was being mocked. But the Inquisition is drawing in those of all sorts of race and backgrounds and she is proud to be a part of something so MONUMENTAL.

Compassion moves her to take a step forward, before she catches herself. She focuses on the word “WAS.” The Breach has taken so much from so many, she cannot help but immediately assume it is the reason for his loss. Assumptions are dangerous, however. And questions can be asked, backstories given, once TRUST is built. Still. She FEELS for him. 

               “WE DIDN’T SPEAK TO THE KEEPER. OUR REQUISITION OFFICERS COLLECT REQUESTS AND WE JUST FILL THEM. I AM ONLY DOING AS I WAS ASKED.” And taking what was, apparently, a much-needed rest.

HE TELLS HER SHE HAS TO WAIT BUT GAEA HAS NEVER BEEN A PATIENT WOMAN. Especially when it comes to this, to HIM, the pleasure he brings her body and the fact she knows he can always bring her more. When he wants to. The feel of his tongue on her makes her toes curl, makes her fingers fumble for some kind of ANCHOR, and that anchor is usually his hair or the sheets beneath them. There was a smugness in the set of his shoulders that was well-deserved and visible long before he pulled his mouth away.

He DESERVES to be SMUG.

Cainneach has the strength to move her the way he wants, as though she were someone much smaller. She follows the guidance of his hands, NEEDS IT, considering how she trembles. Had he not already teased and sucked and driven her to weakness, perhaps she could have presented herself to him on her hands and knees. Instead, she folds her arms, rests her cheek on them as she waits, just as she was TOLD. The sigh that leaves her when he slides his finger inside her once more— and she can’t help the way she squirms— is shuddering and pleased.

The sound she makes at the first swipe of his tongue is DESPERATE.

              “CAINNEACH.” Little whimpers escape her as he licks, her body becoming lax beneath his ministrations. The relaxed position she had taken is done away with when he pushes inside, a hand reaching back to grab whatever she can of him as she wails.

She slides from her wall perch, that brightness to her features as sun catches in her eyes and smile drawing him all but deeper into the trance she seems to have pulled him under from the moment they had become MORE. The colors of the little things - pinks and blues and periwinkles amid pale greens of stems and the occasional leaf - accentuate the hue of her eyes, hazel now in the warmth and against the blocks of her paint’s colorings. She pulls him down while he is still swept in the harmonious tender of the moment, stealing     ( and only for he had not thieved one himself )     a kiss that he bids last a moment longer than she originally allows before speaking a word he’s come to assume the meaning of.

He lingers there in her bubble, lips close to hers and forest greens flicking up to meet hazel as he lets his own smile drift further across his face. He’s practically bent in half, but the dull ache of walking this far and being what they are fades into the background amid the astonished oohs and gasps from the town’s passerby that glimpse them long enough to think they know what these two are. An elvish ear twitches, catches half a comment in passing, but ignores it as Cainneach presses his mouth to hers once more.

“ I do, “     he affirms on parting, leaning up once more and moving to peel her hand from its halfless grasp at his tunic so that fingers might curl about hers. Such implications of the titles they’ve given each other, whether in youthful heart or a truth of devotion, combined with the utterance of the word itself - LOVE - it a footingless slope, though one he happily slips down with her despite being afraid of saying those three simple words in a string to her face. It’s silly, really, that fear.

That fear he pushes to the back of his brain as he draws her hand around her front, his own arm hooking about the back of her neck and shoulders as he comes to her side.     “ Kalavellan will be a few days. I was able to convince the fishermen to let me toss for them while we’re here. You find anything? “

              IT HAD TAKEN EVERYTHING IN HER NOT TO FLINCH ONCE SHE REALIZED SHE HAD UTTERED THE WORD “LOVE.” Gaea certainly feels it for the man standing over her, the man who picked her flowers simply because he wanted to. But there is always that fear that one day she will push too far, ask for too much, and he will try away. So she is careful to keep the word from off her tongue, since she cannot erase the feeling from her heart. The Avvar wonders if he sees it, every time he bends himself to reach her lips, much as he has now. If he can feel it, every time she trails her fingers across his shoulders as she walks behind him, every time she catches his eyes across a distance and immediately drops her gaze and smiles. IT’S LOVE; SHE SWEARS TO THE GODS IT IS.

And then Cainneach says he DOES and she SOARS. Though she believes he only says it to glance over her SLIP.

There’s nothing to do but to lean into the warmth of her body, her eyes half-lidded in utter contentment. This is such an important part of THEM, the give and take of physical expression. Gaea’s thoughts fleetingly turn to her wishing she had more arms and hands but she will settle for having the two she owns full of him and his gift. 

               “THERE SEEMS TO BE A VERY SHORT SUPPLY OF ELFROOT STILL,” The Avvar begins, pulling against his hold to encourage him to walk with her. “THE DISPUTE BETWEEN THE MAGES AND TEMPLARS HAD LESSENED CONSIDERABLY, BUT THERE IS STILL ENOUGH CONFLICT TO KEEP THINGS FROM GOING BACK TO NORMAL. I SUPPLIED THE HEALERS WITH WHAT I COULD.” Her grasp on the bouquet he had gifted her tightens. “URIAH, THE DWARVEN BOOKSELLER, SAYS THAT HIS CARAVAN IS MISSING. HE’S CONVINCED THAT THE TEMPLARS TOOK IT IN OPPOSITION TO HIM SELLING SCHEMATICS TO THE REBEL MAGES.” 

And on a fair lighter note, a note that didn’t ring of something that should have already been dealt with: “AND I... THERE’S AN ELDERLY WIDOWER WHO CAN’T MAKE IT TO HIS LATE WIFE’S GRAVE BECAUSE OF THE FIGHTING. I’M GOING TO MAKE THE JOURNEY FOR HIM.” Her eyes lift from the path, up at the cut of his jaw. Of course it is something she can do alone. And yet...  “COME WITH ME?”

There  is  something  very  funny  about  waiting  for  a  VAMPIRE  too  INVITE  HER  IN.  Gaea  attributes  it  to  her  poor  sense  of  humor.  Her  arms  are  tired  from  the  weight  of  the  BAGS  hanging  from  them  and  the  key  to  Cainneach  and  Temperance’s  HOME  are  in  her  jeans  pocket.  And  yet,  she  WAITS.  It  could  partially  because  she  wants  to  prove  that  she’s  not  always  just  THERE,  waiting  for  them  to  wake  up.  But  perhaps  even  more  than  that,  it’s  to  check  and  make  sure  she  is  still  WELCOME.  Oh,  she  has  a  key.  There’s  a  MUG  in  their  cupboard  that  no  one  else  is  allowed  to  use.  She  has  CLOTHES  there,  TOILETRIES.  She  feels  suspended  between  two  different  HOMES.

The  last  thing  she  wants  to  do  is  step  on  any  toes,  cross  any  BOUNDARIES.

The  door  opens  and  she  offers  a  sheepish  smile.  She’s  usually  more  FRUGAL,  but  those  are  the  rules  when  it  comes  to  her  OWN  shopping.  

               “I  MAY  HAVE  GONE  A  LITTLE  OVERBOARD.”  She  drops  her  gaze  to  the  bags.  “BUT  I  PROMISE  THIS  IS  ALL  FOR  YOU.”
