A photo of me taking a photo
The Brownills Miner. Informally named as Jigger after Jack ‘Jigger’ Taylor, a miner who died in the local Walsall Wood pit.
I've walked along the canals of Birmingham since I was a youth and I still use them today. Over the years some of the lesser used parts have become run down and generally more unpleasant. There are a lot of homeless people, empty cheap beer/cider cans and bottles along with discarded used syringes and other drug paraphernalia. I see these sights almost every day. I took these photos to show that there are still some nice sights and in the case of the wall art, that someone is trying to improve the view.
All Saints Church Bloxwich. Just two quick snaps about an hour apart.

Historic Route 66 Motel in Seligman, Arizona. On a family trip to Las Vegas we decided to take a break from the busy Las Vegas lifestyle and go on a road trip. we hired a car and headed for the famouse Route 66. Not far from Peach Springs is the small town of Seligman, the whole town is only about a mile long but the whole place clearly harks back to a much busier time when Route 66 was not bypassed by larger highways. We stayed st this motel and ate a great meal at the brilliantly named RoadKill Cafe next door. I loved this place and would really like to go back one day.
Wyrley and Essington Canal again but this time at night and with a different camera. I'm not into astronomy but I seem to notice Orion every where I go. This was a good opportunity to experiment with long exposure and night photography. I'm please with this as a first attempt but I do think I could do better so there will no doubt be others to follow.
Dusk on the Wyrley and Essington Canal.
Another shot of Chesterton Windmill, I like this place and I want to photograph this in every season and at night if I can.
