Honestly she wasn’t sure what she was expecting when coming there. Maybe that he was still out of it, too drugged to know that she was visiting. That was not the case, however. Instead he seemed to be joking about his current predicament.
Annoyance flared, but Winter remembered that he didn’t know what was going on. He didn’t know all that already happened. She wasn’t even certain she could tell him without bringing more trouble onto herself. Reaching for his hand, she wasn’t sure if it was for his comfort or hers.
“I was across the hall,” she gestured toward the large window that looked into the room she occupied until recently. The armor keeping her upright feeling even heavier knowing what happened in the hall not long ago.
“What happened?” He didn’t know what was going on in Atlas, but she didn’t know what exactly happened to him. What caused this? The only information was that this was Qrow’s fault, but was that true?
Of course she’d want to know what happened. But...surely Qrow could have told her? “Didn’t Qrow tell you?” he asked, his voice slow and deliberate. Every word felt like an effort, but for her, he’d work through it.
“After the arrest order for Qrow and Robyn...things got chaotic pretty quick. Tyrian took advantage of the situation and crashed our ship. Robyn got knocked out and it devolved into a fight between Qrow, Tyrian and I. I managed to disarm Qrow, but while I was busy with him, I wasn’t watching my back and...well...” he paused, “I’m sure you know the rest.”
His wound still hurt, more than just physically. It stung with the knowledge that Qrow hadn’t seen reason. Then again, Clover supposed he wasn’t entirely blameless. If they hadn’t been so focused on fighting each other, they could have brought Callows in and sorted things out with the General.
“What...did I miss?”
