Warren Worthington III in All New X-Men #30
“I’m sorry – I wasn’t aware that everyone on Earth was able to just return from the dead. Is that new?”
“Well, it’s not everyone. Or maybe it is now.. honestly I’m also having a hard time keeping track of that.”
“An artificial trash planet has now surpassed this one on the list of ideal places to live. Congratulations, Midgardian’s.”Â
“--you’ve been to a literal trash planet?”
“I’m sure you have questions ranging from the fact that I’m less dead than you’ve all been lead to believe and my mutant status, but we have time for that later. What we need to start with is the fact that Charles is not with us. Not for now, at least. I’ll be stepping up in his place. It’s taken me ten lives to get here.”
“That’s a lot of trial and error. Must have been difficult.”
“Here is the plan. We battle in glorious combat over the last of the delicious fruity wafers. The one left standing can wash down this confectionery made by the Elf of Keebler with the blood of the loser. What do you say?”
“You realize I can just fly away right? It’s important to me that you know that.”
“how can there be so many different spider people? i mean I’ve personally met five others, and somehow i’m still seeing faces i’ve never seen before.”Â
“So there’s a billion spider people, and two different versions of my team.. I feel like we should all be way more freaked out by things, but we’re not any more.”
“ah just find it weird kids can sign up to join the army at 17 with parental consent but they can’t be a superhero without hand holdin’ before they’re 21. like, shootin’ guns is okay, but using your own natural born abilities for good ain’t?”
“You’re smart. You should go tell someone important the same thing, maybe they’ll listen to you.”
“I’m sorry.” Hank replied as he gently closed his book and lowered his glasses on his furry face. “They did what with my equipment?”
“--whoops, sorry.” Warren removed his earbuds. “Did you say something? You look.. upset.”
“Is he gone?”Â
“You’ve been back for what.. five minutes? Who’d you piss off already?”
“Hey— keep your distance, alright? I don’t need anymore X’s on my report card.”
“I’ve heard.. things. You holdin’ up alright?”
“Stars and garters…” He muttered to himself. “Yeah no, sorry. Tarot Cards and my computer are off limits so please don’t touch. No need to open a portal to hell or unleash a computer virus on the world, thanks.” He said quickly shooing them away from his belongings.
“---having a bad day, Hanky?”
“if you eat that any faster, I’m actually concerned there’s a real possibility you’ll throw up.”
“It’s not a crime to love food.”
“n-no, n-n-n-no! — shit.”
“Bobby.. you know I love you, dude. But uh-- how? And why?”
he’s chilling (being stuck at home 24/7 finally made me draw again!)

“You really don’t have to thank me. Believe it or not, I like helping people. It’s not exhausting like some people would think either. Still, your lack of consent in the wing thing was definitely not us and definitely sucks. We were just here to make you not dead again.”
“Getting a new body meant I got wings that weren’t basically soldered on, so that was nice at least. But are you serious? I would have thought bringing people back from the dead took a lot of out you.”
marvelgiirls:
“It feels like a lot has happened since then, huh? We all might as well have been different people.” And, in some ways, they were. Jean definitely wasn’t the girl with the swishing green skirts and optimistic eyes she had once been. “Hey, we’re a team.” She bumped his shoulder lightly with her own. “For better or worse.”
Warren bumped hers right back, moving his wing just enough so a few feathers brushed her face. “Honestly, you’re right. If we can stick together through all of the shit we just got through, I’m pretty sure we could get through anything.”
marvelgiirls:
“Obviously I never made it to that stage of high school, but I think we could have killed it. Ruffled tux, tulle and all, considering the decade.” Sometimes, Jean missed how it was. It felt so incredibly long ago though going back would be even more strange than the strange deficit of time. She had missed part of Warren’s transformation in Archangel, death being the excuse. She was instead caught on the tail end of the struggle. “Oh, Warren, it wasn’t a secret. Hank did a better job concealing than you. I remember getting you to take me to a carnival once and then you inviting Hank and Bobby. I wanted to murder all three of you.” Scott had conveniently been a stick in the mud. “There’s been a lot of life since then.” Jean suffering through less than others due to, once again, her stint as a corpse.
“How did you ever put up with any of us?” Jean’s recollection of the carnival incident made him laugh-- a genuine laugh, right from his chest. It died down after a moment. “Yeah. Yeah, there has. Where’s the re-do button when you need one?”Â
