Do you people EVEN TALK TO YOUR CREW MEMBERS??? There isn’t a single boring character in any Mass Effect game. They all have detailed backstories, interesting quirks and talents, intriguing stories to tell, but not all of them are so willing to just blurt out everything. You have to WORK FOR IT.

Is higher ranking than Shepard by ME2 (Staff Commander > Lieutenant Commander) and especially in ME3, but accepts Shepard’s command because they know what they’re doing

Killed a turian with one blow when he was 17 years old, after being thoroughly beaten into a pulp by said turian (so probably not at 100% condition).

Didn’t let the experience define him or colour his perceptions on aliens and turians in general.

Understands that he makes mistakes and can be a bit judgmental at times, but does his best to move on.

Doesn’t deliberately burden Shepard with any emotional baggage he hasn’t already dealt with himself.

Finds his biotic students by himself (with a little aid from EDI) because Shepard has enough to deal with by themselves without him asking for more favours.

Is a very perceptive man; the only character to note something suspicious going on with biotic exposures and how fast Conatix found the biotic children afterwards (later proved to be a fair worry in the novels).

My favorite part of this, is that he never asks Shepard to help him with anything. He takes care of his own shit. He respects that Shepard is busy saving the galaxy. To gain his loyalty, you just have to talk to him, to get to know him.

He’s a fully functional human being before a romance.

Let’s also not forget that he can (kinda) beat James at a push up contest.

He admits to throwing stuff around with his biotics as a little kid, which lets face it, is hilariously cute.

Somehow gets over seeing the robot that nearly smashed his head in (and even kind of likes her) just to be close to Shepard again.

Is the only one immediately comfortable around all of your alien squadmates and doesn’t complain about them.

Talks about nerdy tech with Tali

He is one of the first and only crew members to talk about when you win instead of express fears about how you are losing.

Is hilariously awkward when flirting.

Lets you call him Kay if you romance him.

Bring him to the casino in citadel dlc and he has some of the best distraction lines, he also cries lol.
