roxieelvinâ:
âOh.â Roxanne wasnât looking to report anything to him, she just wanted to know if he was finished with the almost empty glasses that were cluttering the table. âI just wanted to know if you were done with these, thatâs all?â She gestured to the glasses. âFigured Iâd tidy as I go around.â She let out a soft chuckle.
Glancing up, Felix realized heâd jumped the gun a little. She wasnât here to bother him with reports, she was here to collect the empty water glasses heâd been draining to keep himself from ordering anything stronger. âSorry. Didnât mean to jump on your ass for doing your job.â
ariadnedavisâ:
Alright. you can have your lame-ass water and Iâll know you really just donât care about me,â Ariadne joked.
âAw, câmon. I still care about you. I can prove it in other ways,â Felix wriggled his brows suggestively, flashing a grin and hoping to leave the subject of alcohol behind.
melliethornâ:
âRookies are no fun, they give in way to easily and its usually information I already have. Please? I canât help youâre a great source even if you are sober? Which by the way, what the hell? You totally ghosted Ari. Rude.â Mellie stated with her hands on her hips annoyed with the man but always needing his help. a very fine line to be on.Â
"Yeah, thereâs a reason nobody higher ranked than a rookie will tell you anything you donât already know. Nobodyâs looking to lose their badge, Mel. Iâm definitely not.â He huffed at the mention of Ari, shrugging a shoulder. âChatting up the girl you used to shoot up with while youâre working on getting sober isnât as productive as it sounds. Iâm making it up to her now.â Now that his sobriety was no longer a fragile thing, he was pretty sure he could talk to Ari without risking it.Â
romanhartonenâ:
âItâs honestly too early to even think,â Roman groaned, trying to answer his cell phone with his hangover. Sure, it was in the middle of the evening, he had been up for the past two hours, but damn â it was too early.Â
The person calling hung up without saying anything, leaving the man in a state of irritation.
âYeah, you look like shit,â Felix nodded, raising a brow at the man. How many times had he looked like that? Back when heâd been either drunk or high pretty much constantly, heâd seen this kind of thing in the mirror fairly often.
melliethornâ:
âOh câmon, youâre going to make me pay? Drinks usually do the trick?â She quested with hopeful eyes. âI wonât name my source, pinkie promise. Just one quick blurb and you can have a nice cold beer.âÂ
âHate to tell you this, Mel, but Iâm sober now. You canât tempt me with drinks anymore.â It wasnât entirely true, of course. The only thing that tempted Felix more than drinks were the drugs heâd made himself leave behind alongside them, but not like this. A friendly offer from someone trying to charm him into giving them a story wasnât something that threatened his sobriety. âCome by the station. Maybe youâll have better luck trying that one on the rookies. I bet you can get one of the new kids with a couple bats of those lashes.âÂ
ariadnedavisâ:
âYouâre acting like waking up three days from now wouldnât be fun,â Ariadne laughed. âCâmon. We need to celebrate both not being abducted by aliens or by god or whatever. You can just have a sip. You know I donât like partying alone.â
âNot as fun when youâve got a badge to worry about losing,â Felix pointed out. âI canât really afford to slip right now, Ari.â He offered her a smile, hoping the conversation would just go away. âIt doesnât work like that for me. I canât just have a sip. Look, I can come over and we can hang out. You drink the booze, Iâll drink water or something. We can still have fun.â
ariadnedavisâ:
âI didnât realize you werenât fun anymore. what happened to the old Felix, who wouldnât let me drink alone? itâs just liquor, Fee.â
âCâmon, Â Ari, itâs not like that. Iâm still plenty of fun, just without the booze or the other stuff.â Alcohol had never been his go-to, but it was a slippery slope. âFor you itâs just liquor. For me, itâs waking up three days from now on a dock in the next town over.â Or killing a criminal informant to hide his habits from his boss.
melliethornâ:
âNow whereâs the fun in that? Come on, Fe. I just need a quick quote on the recent spike in violent crime and Iâll be out of your hair.âÂ
âAre you paying for the quote, Mellie?â He raised a brow, though he knew his smirk gave him away. âCâmon, you know the bossâll be on my ass for talking to reporters in general, worse if itâs off the clock.â
ariadnedavisâ:
âYou know, you owe me a big explanation,â Ariadne said, slightly scolding him with her tone. She wasnât good at being too serious, though. âIâve been great. I mean, it kinda sucks what all happened â but yeah. we need to catch up, just like the good old days. I got a handle of somethinâ at home, Iâm sure.â
âI know, I know,â Felix laughed, holding his hands up in surrender. Heâd left a lot of his life behind after the Departure, abandoned big parts of it in getting sober.  It was unfortunate, but it was how things went. âYeah, sucks is one word for it, huh?â He shifted at the mention of catching up, shaking his head slightly when she brought up having a handle of something. âOh, I, uh⊠Iâm actually sober now. Did the whole 12-step thing.â
âIâm not on the clock,â Felix muttered, leaning back on the bench and crossing his arms over his chest. âIf youâve got something to report, find someone who is.â
ariadnedavisâ:
âI thought you were one of those raptured people, man! Iâm fuckinâ excited about this!â she leaned in to give a hug, missing her old friend.
It had been years since she last saw Felix, right back to the days before the Departure.Â
âAnybody took me, theyâd probably give me back,â Felix joked, though he couldnât help but shift uncomfortably at the mention of the Departure. He didnât like talking about it. It only ever reminded him of what heâd done. Smiling as the moment passed, he leaned into the hug. âGotta say, I missed you, Ari. Howâve you been?â
ariadnedavisâ:
âNo shit, Felix?â
âAriadne Davis? Holy shit, itâs been a while!â
âș [ RYAN GUZMAN / CISMALEÂ ] â FELIX MARTINEZÂ â This 28-year old DETECTIVE DID NOT lose someone to The Sudden Departure. Heâs lived in this town for TEN years and IS NOT a risk of the Guilty Remnant.
tw: murder
Growing up, Felix was always told he was smart. He did extraordinarily well on standardized tests, and subjects that were difficult for his classmates came naturally to him. His family doted on him for his intellect, but Felix often felt that the pressure was too much. After high school, he went to college because it was expected of him, but dropped out before finishing. He moved to Ashgrove without telling his family where heâd gone and found a new passion in the form of law enforcement.
After making his way through the police academy with ease, Felixâs intelligence allowed him to rise through the ranks of the local police department without putting much effort forth. He made detective just three years after joining the police force, far sooner than most. He found he was especially successful in undercover work due to his willingness to do anything to maintain a cover.
Eventually, this willingness to go the extra mile got Felix into trouble when he shot up to convince the leader of a small-time drug cartel that he was trustworthy. Felix dismantled the cartel, but he found he liked the feeling the drugs provided him. He quickly grew addicted to the high. When a criminal informant learned of his habit, he threatened to tell  Felixâs bosses. Felix didnât mean to shoot the man, but he died all the same. Hours later, the Departure happened, and Felix covered up his crime by telling everyone heâd witnessed his CI depart. Everyone believed him without question.
