@feltfantastical
Making myself do chores to earn time crocheting. First thing was cleaning up my sock drawer.
Turns out I own 51 pairs of socks or 102 individual socks.
This is not a brag. This is a cry for help!
Lockin in to spend the rest of the afternoon crocheting. Got snacks and about to binge my way through AppleTVs anthology series Roar.
Wish me luck! ✨
Meant to do this earlier in the month but halfway through it seems just as good. Actually wrote down everything that I'm working on plus all the projects I've at least cooked up the idea for.
Even though it will likely take the longest, I'm most excited for the blanket. Gonna take a heck of a lot of granny squares to make but I think it's going to look amazing and I love an autumnal color palette.
WHEEEEEE! ALL BLOCKED AND DRIED AND LOOKING FINE!
At least with the coasters. Now I need a holder for the coasters and then it'll be time to work on the pillows.
My first post here, i really enjoy crocheting!!
Not my pattern though, so credit goes here:

Who needs fancy blocking boards when you have a thick fluffy towel and a dream! Huzzah!
So two days ago I crocheted my first ever hexagon. Now I'm kind of obsessed.
Originally I was just going to make them a nice, simple Catan inspired coaster set for their gaming table. Now I've decided on some Catan inspired throw pillows and a coaster set.
I don't crochet much with cotton yarn so I did some test blocking on the grey one which is why it also has the ivory trim on it. Also blocked the bottom right orangish red one which is why it has much crisper edges.
I really love how these look so far. The colors look lovely together. This photo really doesn't do them justice. The bottom left green isn't quite so dark and the red orange isn't so orange. I do need to get a blue to match them all for the pillow ocean tiles which will be tricky I think. But I'm really looking forward to my next day off. I want to see how many I can make in a single day.
Especially because I'm heavily considering making an entire blanket out of cotton hexagons after this. I'll probably swap the grey for red and do something a bit more autumn leaves with the color scheme. Which might be crazy ambitious as someone who has never made a blanket before.
One of my boyfriend's best friends is getting married at the end of the month. I know the bride and groom but only really through attending other weddings together and one long weekend concert. One thing I do know is they like board games. Wasn't really sure what to get them but settled on making something crochet.
Any guesses as to what I'm making?
THEY'RE FINALLY HERE
Ordered these Suncatcher Craft Eyes for my birthday back at the start of May. I knew they would take a while to arrive - they're very transparent about lead time on orders - but that hasn't stopped me from checking my emails for updates every day like a kid counting down the days to Christmas.
So excited to get to finally make my boyfriend and I our dream monsters!!
It's finally done!!
At least building the body of the bag. I've still got to make a strap, attach the liner, weave in my tails, and sew it all together. Also debating a single crochet border along the left and right edges.
But overall I'm pretty happy with how it's coming together. It's maybe a bit more busy than I anticipated. If I could change anything it would probably have been how I ordered the color changes. Instead of changing every time, I should have done a few thicker blocks or done two rows of each instead of one. Plus there would have been fewer tails.
Just realized the bag I'm making could have a perfect rainbow repeat!
You know, I feel like a lot of the time, when working on a project (especially one without a pattern) where throughout the project, usually at night as I'm winding down for bed, where I look at my partially formed project and think that it looks horrible and should be frogged, only to wake up with fresh eyes and a far better outlook on what I'm making by the next day. Which is probably lucky.
Because for the first time in a long time, I woke up Thursday, looked at the bag I was working on with fresh eyes, and almost immediately frogged the whole thing back to square one.
And in hindsight, I'm glad that I did. While I'd actually made a swatch ahead of time (which I almost never do) I still somehow ended up almost 3 inches too short. I'd also realized that I hadn't fully thought out the pattern of the color changes and changed that up as well which I'm much happier with now.
While this little set back definitely took the steam out of my sails for the rest of the weekend, I did manage to get caught back up to where I was on Thursday morning and then some. In fact, before I head to bed tonight, I should just be hitting the half way point and if I focus, I should be done or pretty close to it by bed tomorrow.
Made this a few weeks ago. Had a bunch of mini skeins in a rainbow of colors and knew I wanted to make a rainbow pot. Took a while to decide on what to plant in it before settling on this hand cactus thing and I low key kinda love it. A little creepy, a little cool. Wish I would have built a slightly bulkier internal structure but overall happy with the final product.
How today started vs how it's going so far.
In light of JoAnn's closing, I decided to challenge myself by creating something using yarn from one of the only other yarn sellers near me, Dollar Tree. Set myself a $10 budget for this brick stitch bag, so far I've spent $6.25. Still have to make a second trip to find something for a closure but will have to visit a different Dollar Tree.
But feeling pretty good about my Day 1 progress yesterday. Work today so probably won't be adding much but I'm off tomorrow so should hopefully be able to more than double what I've done so far.
Was laid up on bed rest from surgery about a month ago. Thankfully a good friend was able to come help tend to me and in exchange I made this fun little guy for her daughter. From Megan Lapp's boon Crochet Monsters
