Witchy Podcasts
🚨long post🚨
🔮Hi everyone! This is a detailed resource on podcasts about witchcraft, spirituality, wellness, creativity, entrepreneurship, queer life, and everything in-between. I hope these become inspirational tools to give you something new for your practice or for your life. I have taken the time to listen to some episodes of the podcasts and I hope the info given is useful! I love listening to podcasts while I drive or while I write, and some of the episodes I recommended have been ones that made an impact on the way I think about my craft.
👉Most of these podcasts can be found on iTouches, Stitcher, Patreon, YouTube, or on their own websites.👈
*some of these paragraphs are paraphrases of the “about” page on the podcast*
(Also note that some of the recommended episodes cover similar topics across the board: I did that so people who are familiar with the concepts can see that they are offered many times with different perspectives, if that makes sense?).
Happy Listening!!💜🖤

Yogic Mantras & Witchcraft
(with resources!)
There are probably MILLIONS of mantras and affirmations that have been created throughout the world and chanted on a daily basis. That vibration, that power, has the ability to resonate throughout cells, time, and space, sending healing and restructuring to the planet. All over YouTube, Spotify, etc. you can find playlists of chants to set the mood for your witchy practice. Here, I’m adding a new branch to your craft tree by talking about Yogic mantras: what they are, how they sound, and ways to incorporate them into your rituals/spells. All of the mantras listed are ones that I personally used in my practice at some point, so I feel really connected to them and hope that when you read this, you also feel that energy. I also suggested songs to help you familiarize yourself with how to say the mantras and videos and books to look into as well. Remember: You don’t have to do these aloud. You don’t have to repeat them 100+ times. You don’t have to say them perfectly. Mantras are tools that can help you with expressing your voice, grounding your being, and projecting your intentions further into the universe for manifestation. Give it a try at least once, just to experiment, and it’s your choice if continue or don’t. It’s all up to you friends. You can simply say them as quick spells! Write them down to use in bottles or to break up into sigils. Open up and be creative with these words. Some are in Sanskrit, and others are in Gurmukhi. I also included mantras that don’t have to be “sung” but just simply repeated to yourself. ^_^ I also listen to a YouTube mix of some of these mantras which is linked
*There are non-singing chants listed far below if you’re more interested in that*
*Most information I found on Yogapedia.com, SatNam.com, SpiritVoyage, or 3Ho.org*
Product: Do you like to use Rosaries, Witch’s Ladders, or Mala beads in your practice? Check out this paganbeads shop on Etsy! She creates beautiful pagan prayer beads in necklace and bracelet form. I bought one from here that has amethyst, obsidian on it and it’s my favorite one to use for japa meditation (using beads to count your mantra meditation).
Book: Invincible Living- my favorite (and arguably the best) Kundalini yoga book! I’ve been practicing Kundalini off-and-on for about 3 years now and Guru Jagat is THE teacher that has helped clarify and deepen the practice for me. She gives mantras, short daily Kundalini sequences, and even some FAMILIAR witchy tips ;) to help you out! She can be found on Gaia TV, her own RA MA TV and podcast, and on other podcasts such as That’s So Retrograde, Balanced Blonde, Almost 30, and the LifeStylist.
💛Let’s Get Started!👇
OM or AUM- Jane Wither— The CLASSIC traditional yoga mantra that you hear in class. Many yogis believe that the vibration of OM is the seed sound that created the universe. It’s also associated with the Third Eye chakra, connecting us deeply to intuition. OM has a natural deep timbre that can shake the whole chest and course throughout the body. Inhaling through the nose and then shaping your mouth like an “O” exhale the sound exactly how it’s spelled and end by sealing the lips to vibrate the “MMMM”. The “AUM” has a slightly higher pitch to it if you want to explore that “AH” shape in the jaw. In Witchcraft: chant this mantra as an opening or closing of your circle/spell/devotion. Use it to focus on opening the Third Eye or to help you attune before psychic divination.
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo- Adi Mantra by Alexia Chellum or SiriOm Singh— The traditional opening mantra of a Kundalini yoga class. Hearing everyone around you chant this together is a beautiful experience. This was taught by Yogi Bhajan, the founder of Kundalini in the West, as Adi Mantra or the “tuning in” mantra. It has many different translations: “I bow to the Divine in myself,” “I bow to the Teachers that came before me,” and “I bow to All-That-Is” to say a few. To breakdown the pronunciation: (ON-GH) (NAH-MOE) (GURU) (DAVE) (NAH-MOE). In Witchcraft: incorporate it as devotional prayer to your deities, or make it more agnostic if you’re not sure of what’s out there. Or use it to “tune in” before you practice.
Om Namah Shivaya– Jai Uttal or Shantala— I first heard this mantra during teacher training. It was an 8am Sun Power (hot) Bhakti yoga class lead by our mentor. I was tired, cranky, lost out on caffeine, but I was surrounded by 40 other adults who sat erect with eyes closed ready to sing. Our mentor pulled out a ukulele and started chanting this mantra. It was (and still is) beautiful, uplifting, and life-changing. I felt like I walked into a second home that was part temple and part commune. I felt rooted and at ease. It doesn’t matter if this is sung fast or slow, this mantra is all-encompassing. It is probably the most popular Hindu mantra and translates to, “I bow to Shiva”, BUT all five syllables represent the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Sometimes I end my classes with, “Om Namah Shivaya: May all the elements be with you,” as a blessing of protection over my students. Pronunciation: (OM) (NAH-MA) (SHEE-VI [as in “VI-olet”] YAH). In Witchcraft: use this to bring in the elements to your circle! Use it as a blessing on your tools or friends! Don’t be confined to the literal translation, let it help you with the natural elements we constantly use in the craft.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti- Deva Premal or Daphne Tse—I first heard this mantra from a teacher whose class I would go to before therapy sessions. His final message always ended with, “Om Shanti, Om Peace,” because that’s exactly what it means. “Shanti” is just peace. You may have seen that word on popular yoga clothing. It’s a nice, short-n-sweet phrase to say to perhaps help you calm down when you feel rallied up from your environment. Even Ashtanga yoga people say this to end their mantra when they close practice. Pronunciation: (OM) (SHAWN-TEE). In Witchcraft: perhaps when you’re in the trance-state for divination you can chant this mantra to keep clearing your space and mind to focus on the downloads coming through. You can also chant this in your house, car, or desk to spread peaceful vibrations. Use it to help you center in times of anxiety.
Sat Nam- White Sun—A quick, tip-of-the-tongue mantra that is used sort of like a “Namaste”, or “Aloha,” in Kundalini yoga circles. It means “True Identity” or “Truth in Identity”, and it’s said to other yogis as a greeting or a closing. It’s normally chanted at the end of a Kundalini yoga practice to seal the energy. Pronunciation: (SUT-NAHM). In Witchcraft: you can use this to work on your throat chakra! The throat is associated with our identity, our honest truth, so maybe spend some time saying this to yourself while visualizing the color blue to balance it. Also use it to close your practice.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu- Osel— Another mantra I first heard from my mentor and her ukulele. This is a nice swaying motion to it, like you’re dancing in circles under the sun in a grassy field. I find this one to be a lot of fun to say. It just rolls for me. This is one I’ve sung in the car many, many times during trials and tribulations. The simple translation is, “May all beings everywhere be free and happy.” Now, there’s a literal translation of each word (just like in Om Namah Shivaya) like this: “Lokah” means universe or realm, “Samastah” refer to all beings, “Sukhino” means happiness, “Bhav” represents the Divine union, and “Antu” is either guardian or “may it be so” to seal the prayer. Pronunciation: (LOW-CAW) (SA-MAH-STAH) (SUE-KEY-NO) (BAH-VON-TOO). In Witchcraft: a mantra that can balance all the chakras, or perhaps help you with distance healing! Because this is a mantra “reaches out” the others, you can use this to help you tune in to the person you’re working on or wishing to send healing to. This is a good one to use if you’re just wanting to chill and do a low-spoons meditation or chant.
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung- Snatam Kaur or Jai Kartar- Also known as Gaitri Mantra. This is another mantra that can be short and sweet, or long and arching. The version I listen to has a more hymnal structure to it that changes key but it penetrates through any blockages or cords in my system. It feels more emotional. This is another popular Kundalini mantra and also a distance healing mantra. This one has a translation for each word, “Sun, Moon, Earth, Infinity: All that is in Infinity, I Am Thee”; and each syllable represents a chakra, “Ra” (sun, root), “Ma” (moon, sacral), “Da” (earth, navel), “Sa” (infinity, heart and throat), “Say” (totality, third eye), “So” (identity, crown), “Hung” (the infinite, aura). Pronunciation: (RAH) (MA) (DAH) (SA) (SA) (SAY) (SO) (HUNG). In Witchcraft: a total chakra clearing and balancer. Also can be used by cosmic/space/astrology witches to help them connect to the planets and stars. And just like the one above, to help with distance healing like used in Reiki, or in spells to intercede on the behalf of friends or family!
Om Mani Padme Hum- Alexia Chellum or Veet Vichara or Deva Premal or Brainwave-Sync—Guess what? This is actually a Buddhist mantra! It’s believed to invoke blessings from the Divine. Here, “mani” means jewel, “padme” represents the lotus flower, and “hum” is spirit. This is also a chant to bring protection over oneself. Pronunciation: (OM) (MAH-NEE) (PED-MAY) (HUM). In Witchcraft: protection charm! Use it in invocations when opening or welcoming anything in.
Ad Guray Nameh Jugad Guray Nameh Sat Guray Nameh Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh- Nirinjan Kaur or Jaya Lakshmi— What a mouth-full!! Yeah, this is a long one sorry! Guru Jagat explained in class once that this mantra is similar to us [witches] calling in the 4 directions or planes of existence to the circle. This mantra is chanted 3 times after Adi Mantra in Kundalini Yoga. It is believed to bring protection, clarity, and it helps to clear out the past. It is translated into multiple lines, “I bow to the primal wisdom. I bow to the wisdom through the ages. I bow to the true wisdom. I bow to the great unseen wisdom.” Pronunciation: (ODD) (GU-RAY) (NAH-MAY) (JUU-GOD) (GU-RAY) (NAH-MAY) (SUT) (GU-RAY) (NAH-MAY) (SIRI) (GURU) (DAY) (VAY) (NAH-MAY). In Witchcraft: use this chant to invoke and seal the circle. Use it to awaken any primal energy before you move ecstatically. Use it to open your channels to ancient wisdom! Use it to help you with social anxiety, to make yourself invisible as you pass through crowds. Maybe use it to help you let go of anything that’s holding you down?
Aham Brahmasmi- Meditative Mind mantras & chants—This is one of my absolute favorites!!! Deeply resonating and stirring up that energy coiled at the base of our spines. When I chant this, I feel it deep in my chest and heart. This is a phrase used in yogic philosophy to explain the unity of “atman” (individual self or soul) with “Brahman” (The Absolute). Translated to, “I am the Divine.” Pronunciation: (AH-HUM) (BRAH-MAS-ME). In Witchcraft: perhaps secular witches can use this? It’s not technically a religion or associated with a specific deity…Think of this as an empowering, or CHARGING chant. This can also be used a glamour to invite Divine power to your look, or to even help you channel divinity during scrying and so forth. This can also associate with the solar plexus chakra for willpower; or the upper chakras (heart to crown) to achieve a spiritual connection.
💛Non-Singing Chants👇
Davidji Meditation- found mostly on Insight Timer (app), podcast interviews (try Your Own Magic), and Instagram (@davidji) Davidji is an awesome meditation guide and teaches how to use mantras in daily practice. I spent a few months going through all of his tapes on Insight Timer, writing down all the mantras and doing research on them in my BOS. They’re in the list below and are marked as the “non-chanting” chants lol. He’s a down-to-earth, gruff-voice guy who cuts through the granola-BS of meditation and into the core. Try him out!
*Yoga-Chitta-Vritti-Nirodha: (Quieting the Mind with Davidji non-singing) is literally Patanjali’s (author of the yoga sutras) definition of yoga: “yoga is the removing of the fluctuations of the mind.” The literal translation: Yoga- to yoke or join, Chitta- consciousness, Vritti- fluctuations, Nirodha- quieting of. Pronunciation: (YOGA) (CHT-TAH) (VREE-TEE) (NEAR-OH-DAH). In Witchcraft: use this to help calm a busy mind or before you work out! About to take a test? Lift some weights? Chant this. It’s okay and total understandable that not everyone digs doing yoga, but think of your work out (or studying) as “yoga” and see if this chant helps to center you. Is someone’s presence bothering you somewhere? Chant this to quiet them. Think of this as a BINDING.
*Ananda Maya Moksha (Our Power to Heal & Repair by Davidji non-singing): “Ananda” meaning bliss, “Maya” meaning illusion, and, “Moksha,” for liberation of. Also, “Ananda” the feeling of breathing in; “Maya”, illusions appearing real; “Moksha”, experience of letting go of what hurts us. Pronunciation: (AH-NUN-DA) (MAYA) (MOK-SHA). In Witchcraft: if you’re feeling psychically attacked, or if shadows and spirits are bothering you, try chanting this to dismiss the disturbance. Getting compulsive thoughts/images? Chant this to scare them away. Feeling uncomfortable in someone’s house? Cast this to clear it out. Think of this as a clearing and healing spell.
*Jyoti Karuna Namaha (Soul Light by Davidji non-singing): “Jyoti” meaning light, “Karuna” meaning pure compassion borne of the knowledge of our connection to everyone, and “Namaha” is simply, “I open my individuality to its true universality.” So there’s a lot going on in these few words, but I think that attributes to its impact. This is truly a “putting the best foot forward” kind of chant. Pronunciation: (G-YO-TEE or YO-TEE) (KA-RUNE-AH) (NAH-MAH-HA). In Witchcraft: say this before you go for an interview, or if you’re meeting people for the first time! In situations where we struggle to feel like ourselves, use these words to help shed that feeling away.
*Om Ah Hum (Getting Unstuck by Davidji non-singing): a Buddhist blessing mantra. This is a chant for focusing intentions on purification in body, speech, or mind. “OM” being the body, “AH” being speech, and “HUM” being the mind. This represents transformation and freedom. In chanting this, we are forgiving, committing, and releasing. Pronunciation: (OM) (AH) (HUM). In Witchcraft: this is great for clearing out and protecting the aura. Or if you’re working on chakras, or doing Reiki, you can use this to help shift and transmute the energy.
Well, that’s about it! I hope this changes your practice in some way ^_^ Let me know if you have any questions
