Astarothe stepped into the florescent lighting of the fast food joint Fenris had told him he was in. His eyes immediately looked to the corner, where the dark haired man sat.
He walked over, his cane clicking as it landed on the tile. The doctor was adorned with leather, a far cry from his usual sweater and scrubs. The leather jacket was worn but clearly taken care of. His graying hair was half tied up. He looked good.
"There you are." He grinned at the younger man, "you order yet?"
Asta sat in the booth across from him and let his cane lay in the seat beside him. For a moment he examined the man; perhaps out of habit. It was easy to tell he'd had to much to drink. Greasy fast food would do that.
----
Fenris was sat in the booth, slumped over slightly, his hair haphazardly having been put up but slowly falling out of whatever he had tried. His limbs feeling heavier than normal, already regretting letting his band mates talk him into some 'liquid courage' before the show and letting people buy him drinks after.
He looked up his head tilting, "look so good-" the words having tumbled out of his mouth before he could stop them... "i mean- haven't yet- or maybe I did- .. think I did- want somthing? I want somthing-" his eyes were very shamelessly traveling over the others body, still not used to seeing the taller man not in scrubs.
The older man chuckled. Yea, he was wasted.
"Cheeseburger sound good? Fries?"
He let Fen tell him what he wanted before ordering for them both. Just a burger and some fries for himself though he made sure to get the other a water.
Not long after, their food arrived. Asta sorted it between the two of them.
"Drink, you need it" he spoke, sliding the cup over.
He pulled his outer layer off feeling too warm.
"So pretty ya know" he mumbled leaning onto the wall. He didnt argue over the water at all, taking it and drinking it honestly faster than he should have, his throat still feeling dry from the drink he had and a disgusting after taste left over in his mouth.
He started to munch on some fries between just looking at Asta sitting infront of him.. if he had been sober he would have realized he was staring but he wasnt and definitely was, quite shamelessly at that.
"You want a picture? It'll last longer" he snickered munching on another fry.
Asta kicked his feet up on the other booth next to Fenris. Feeling relief as his body regulated itself.
The man looked over Fenris as he ate. They didn't often run into each other at work. Fleeting moments across the Ed at times but not much more. He never saw him outside of uniform. Not that he'd complain..
"Is your band always that enthusiastic? They seem pretty spirited"
"You offerin?" He luaghed, before taking a big bite out of the burger. He became pretty focused on the food quickly after. As if it was the best thing hed ever tasted.
At the second question well his expression could only be described as a pout. "All them had some hot dates after the gig- flings- whatever-.. igot stood up they all kept drinking talkin me into it too- didnt wanna ruin the mood-" he downed the rest of his water and had finished most of his food already.
"You single? Mean- you aint got a ring- most guys your age do- got an ex or somthin?" That definitely came out a little harsh and brash... "mean- ya know sorry- thats rude- I didnt mean-" he frowned again.
The older man nodded, "They don't sound like good friends" he shrugged " but I don't know them so.." he attempted to brush off his annoyance at these so called friends.
Subconsciously he rubbed his empty ring finger as the other man spoke. The rest were covered in old, thick rings.
"No, don't worry, it's a valid question. I got close once in my twenties but between my health and work I proved too much for him. Haven't really tried since." He started spinning the ring on his pointer finger to occupy himself, "I'm quite happy with life now though. I'm not upset with him anymore" he have a small smile.
An image of a ring on the counter of his old apartment flashed in his mind. A note written on the back of a grocery list 'I'm sorry' under it. That was one of the worst days of his life.
"Theyr good friends most days-.. think... I aint ever had none others- knew em since middle school-" he shrugged leaning against the wall again.
"Oh-.. sorry i asked- I uh.. sorry-" Fenris looked sheepish embarrassed at having asked. "Didt mean to- upset you-"
Seemed to think a second before speaking again, "I dont think there shpuld ever be considered a too much in a relationship ya know- like all things theres good and bad days- its all about the effort you put in and showing you care- I mean I know i dont know you like that- but you kmow you dont seem like too much to me... especially if someone really loves you they will always find the time or the way to be there and try even when things feel impossible or heavy" honestly it felt like word vomit but he was trying his hardest to make sense while his brain felt foggy. "Love real love is always somthing youd fight for, not give up and walk away"
"I probably sound stupid or naive.. I really gave up on love awhile ago.. I think im just good at telling people what they need or want to hear most of the times, never really know if half of what I say is what I think anymore" fenris sighed. Shortly after stole a fry off the others plate grinning.
Astarothe feigned offense at the theft but laughed immediately.
"You sound like you've been hurt before. There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you just need to let yourself be yourself"
Once they had both finished their meal he sighed and put his feet on the ground.
"you need a ride? I parked around the corner"
"Ride? Oh- right" he sighed rubbing his eyes, "Yeah.. yeah need a ride.. are you sure though? Place is bit far and out the way- can just call a Uber or somthing" he said getting up and stumbling for a moment before catching some good footing again.
He shrugged and stood, ready to catch the other man even though they'd both go down.
"I don't trust Uber, if it's really far then you can just crash in my guest room. Don't need you getting kidnapped." He half joked .
Asta grabbed his cane and their trash, he dumped the trash and motioned for Fenris to follow him.
"I dont want to be a bother" fenris said frowning at the idea of even annoying the other with his presence. "I can get an Uber really its not that bad" he sighed.. fenris followed.

Top or Bottom?
The bottom bunk is more cozy, hot air travels up so the top bunk is always warmer
Do you want any kids?
Hell no.
Are you single? Do you have any exs?
Painfully so.
Yes, long story short I was cheated on.
Ever get the urge to bite someone? No? Just me?
