hello! I am Wolfgang, my main blog is @radioriseblogs . @redrum-cat-hell was my former warriors sideblog, but now this one is. You'll be seeing a TON of clangen and oc-centric stuff!

what do artists mean when they say "don't take inspiration from my art"? i figure it's to prevent people obviously ripping off their art but, what's the problem with someone being loosely inspired by you? someone wanting to play around with your ideas in an otherwise unrelated context? that just sounds like an incredibly overprotective thing to say about your work. it's cool to be legally distinct

Full stop it's an ego thing. I have seen this more so from artists that rely heavily on commissions, because if another artists creates a similiar style then that's monetary competition. Also young people who got too use to being the only person in their class that could draw well.

Hi, I work in the National Park Service. You're right that American recreational areas are threatened by this proposal, but the Parks are NOT among them. This pertains to lands administered by my colleagues in the U.S. Forest Service only, which is bad, but the National Forests are under the Department of Agriculture instead of Interior for a reason. They are there for resource management with optional recreation amenities provided as well. Sites like Redwood NP, Yosemite NP, Cedar Breaks NM, Big Cypress NPP, and the Everglades NP are forested areas that are part of the Parks and will still be protected.

I need to remind everyone that canonically Jayfeather doesn't have cataracts or any other condition that would make his eyes look any different from a sighted person's. During Po3 characters around him constantly forget he's not sighted and the one time it's remarked upon is when Flamepaw notices how he doesn't make eye contact, something which he then imitates upon being told it's making him uncomfortable. I understand the desire to convey visually that he's blind, but not only is it a pet-peeve of mine to see virtually any depiction of him do that, it's also a complaint I see discussed regarding blind/visually impaired people with regards to their representation. How the stereotype of blindness always being visible in the eyes leads them to be accused of faking and how they wish it could be represented visually by giving blind characters assistive devices like white canes.

If you're curious about what a blind cat is actually like, I have a blind cat myself! Her name is Pandora, and she became blind after suffering from sepsis from her last pregnancy with the breeder she was with before I owned her.

You may not notice anything at first. She is cautious, and walks with her belly low to the floor. Her eyes linger where your voice was if you move slightly. She has a very mild lazy eye that drifts out of alignment occasionally.

Pandora can likely see light and shadows, so she has a reaction to bright lights and her pupils seem to expand and contract further than cats typically do for the situations she is usually in.

Otherwise, she just acts like a normal cat. Sometimes I have to show her where things are if they've been moved. Sometimes she takes a few minutes to jump up onto my bed. Sometimes I try to help her by showing her detours around obstacles—and every single time she stubbornly finds her own path around it.

Remember, also, that cats have incredibly strong senses. Smell, touch, hearing—they know what's happening around them, generally, and will of course get stronger in those senses if they are blind.
