I've tried really hard to put what I think Carol and Kris' relationship is into words, it's tough. Like, I think she cares for them like family, but she's letting/putting this kid through the horrors probably thinking "we're gonna do this together" but she's 45 and they're 16. Their relationship is like partners in crime but she's using them more like a tool/martyr. Purposefully or not, it's what she's doing.
Nor does she really know what's going on with them. In the weird route where she's just "Noelle is very excited to see you :)" meanwhile Kris and Noelle are in seventh layer of hell.
She cares but can't show it, and probably doesn't show Kris any deep compassion or help an adult should offer a kid they're close with. She's too goal focused on (probably) Dess, and is ruining her relationships with the rest of her entire family (dreemurrs included).
I'M ALREADY SO PREEMPTIVELY ANGRY BECAUSE KRIS HAS TO DEAL WITH ANYTHING THE SOUL MAKES THEM DO MEANWHILE CAROL IS OUT HERE OBSESSED WITH THE SOUL PROBBALY BEFORE KRIS EVEN GOT INVOLVED.
I'm being very generous in not saying that if Kris told any of their shit they've been through with the soul that Carol wouldn't care at all... BUT IT'S ALSO EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING. AND THAT MAKES ME SO MAD. BUT LET'S SEE WHO KNOWS WHATEVER WJAYTEVER
