This is for fun! It started because I've seen people create beautiful fic covers, and wanted an easier way to share/index them. A few "rules":

No AI covers.

Please credit illustrations, photographs, etc. used in covers if you personally didn't create them.

DM me to have a cover removed.

I will aim to reblog from the creator, but you can also submit covers via DM as long as you are the creator / have their permission.

Reblogs aren't endorsements of the fic, fic author, fandom, etc.

Covers are tagged by fandom, fic name, fic author, and cover creator.

Covers should be for personal use only.

A week ago I read the incredible fic "The Wild Card" by neatomosquito and immediately started creating a cover for it. I'm putting together a video of all the iterations these covers went through, but I'm pretty proud of the final designs. Usually I just make one cover for a fic, but I made two that I'm really happy with so I'm sharing both. Before I found a version of the top one I was happy with, I started playing around with other setups and also looking up tennis magazines and covers to get inspiration. I saw the cover of String Theory by David Foster Wallace, and decided to play around with a similar concept and ended up loving it. It also gave me the boost I needed to find what wasn't working on my first cover and finish that one. Anyway, if you haven't read the fic yet, I highly recommend it--it is SO good. You don't need any tennis knowledge to enjoy it!

I'll be putting the covers on AO3 as well shortly and will follow up with a link.

what if you were MAGIC and A FIREFIGHTER and you STARTED A NEW JOB and you SAW A GHOST and he was REALLY HOT ????? that's eddie's whole thing in this fic. christopher is the actual real MVP, and the magic is so delightful to read about i jumped up where i was sitting multiple times. also ATHENA GRANT SAVE ME ATHENA

a good day to be:

eddie is a dance instructor, buck wants to learn the foxtrot for maddie's wedding. i cannot dance to save my life and ive always wanted to learn partner dances, but this made me feel like i was being twirled around the room anyway. do you want to cry pt two but this time about the shared human experience of being on the dancefloor? this is how you cry abt that.

leave the light on (i'll be coming home):

one of the very first fics ive read for this fandom and one that set the bar really high for everyone else. eddie is presumed dead, and wakes up in a hospital miles and miles away from home. buck steps in as christopher's guardian. had to lie down about it. a fandom favorite for a REASON

Cover for The Right to Care by @travelingneuritis (ao3) - I read this a few days ago and absolutely loved it! Highly, highly recommend if you love some angst and hurt/comfort in your relationships with a happy ending! (Please read tags for CW). The art displayed on the cover is by @travelingneuritis and both the art and fic brought me so much joy that I wanted to make a cover for them. You can read the fic here.

I had a really hard time picking a font for the title and I'm not 100% convinced on it, so if anyone has any font feedback/suggestions please let me know! I'm including two versions because I can't pick.

I guess I'm on a Sports Night kick because I suddenly wanted to make a cover for one of my favorite fics and almost definitely my favorite Sports Night fic: You Could Turn It On Like A Light by nightcamedown (@unstatedmartini ) It absolutely nails the banter and tone of the show, and even though I've read it close to 30 times it always makes me laugh (and gasp at that one part). It's absolutely perfect.

I sat down to read one of my favorite fics and the idea for this cover popped into my head. (I want to find a better picture, one of them going nose to nose, but couldn't find one so this will do for now.) I absolutely love this fic, which nails the dialogue and tone and feel of the show, the banter and most importantly the characters and relationship(s). In 15K it covers a lot of ground and makes me laugh a lot. @scientia-rex always does a fantastic job with all fics, but Sports Night fics in particular, and this is one of my favorites! I was honestly never planning to make this a Christmas thing, but the timing worked out and it seems serendipitous so what the hell.

DARKLANDS IS DONE!!!!!!!!

I've been working on this story for the past five years and posting chapters to ao3 for the past three and a half. Is it long enough to warrant such a bonkers time commitment you might ask? Certainly not! This thing was my worst enemy at times. But it's also my biggest writing project by leaps and bounds and it's been with me for 1/6th of my life so it feels like a pretty big deal. And I'm very proud of it.

I'm also SOOOO happy to officially show off the gorgeous cover art I commissioned from @jaioes !!!!!!!! Zar is brilliant and awesome to work with and this piece turned out so much better than I could have ever hoped. Super stoked to share it all with you guys this Xmas Eve hehehe. Enjoy ❤️ Or don't! 😝

Fan Covers for Icarus Burning and Rarely Pure

I was reading @ladyinbooks amazing Icarus Burning, and Rarely Pure. Proceeded to finish all that was available and catch the brain rot.

In order to feel like I was doing something I made these covers. I wanted them to look similar as both stories are set in the same universe. Is there a name for the shared universe?

Not to sure about the blue for Rarely Pure. I chose it to contrast with the orange of Icarus Burning. There wasn't really a colour that stood out to me for RP.

Here are some colour variations because I can't be stopped.

Extra spacey ones for RP because I couldn't decided which way to go.

Think the space ones are my slowly becoming favourite though.

So I've been making my way through all of @letteredlettered 's Drarry work, and I was so taken by The Boy Who Only Lived Twice that I yearned for it to have cover art on my kindle. So I made it!!

I took heavy inspiration from the original posters for James Bond You Only Live Twice, a lot of visual nods in here for it.

If you haven't read it, please do. It took my breath away. It's perfect. I've read it twice in the last week.

I made this cover for @aibidil's Lost in My Own Home fic, which I absolutely love. It's a fun and sweeping love story with found family, identity, growing up, and fun sci-fi universe travel.

The cover photo is from cdd20 on pixabay, and I played around with the colors/saturation etc.
