Hello hello, one and all!! Do you like summertime? Tired of your day-to-day chores in your lord’s army? Wanna go to the beach?! Well, you’re in luck, because you – and potentially all your friends – just won one all expenses paid trip to the Outrealm’s most famous Hotrealm!

WHAT?

a lighthearted and drama-free fire emblem-centric summer holiday event hosted by @fellbranded and @armsthriift!!

events such as volleyball, sand castle contests, scavenger hunts, capture the flag, and more!! 

potentially a movie night on the weekend of the event!

WHO?

the fire emblem community as a whole! awakening? heroes? fates? echoes? tellius? jugdral? ocs? fankids? come on in, the water’s great! everyone’s invited to have fun in the sun!

not in the fandom but have a fire emblem verse for your muse? that’s cool! hop on in with the rest of us!

WHEN?

…we’ll, uh. get back to you on that. but definitely sometime this month! if the event turns out to be a success, more could be planned in the future!

this is the beginning of a tirade   -   while true,  it betrays the reservedness and drip-into-the-background air jakob has been reveled with from the mouths of their masters,   (  and have those kind words of the butler reached frederick’s ears time and time again  -  if jakob’s subtle remarks hadn’t accomplished that already  )    frederick feels scarce remorse right then and there.   he knew what he was doing.     and the gentle calm once on the butler’s face and in his words cracked all too quickly upon the discovery.

 frederick does not convey his pleasure on his face  ;   he remains steadfast in his calmness,  lowering the teacup he had raised to his lips just before.

“  is it not crucial to accomplish your duties early and manage your time efficiently ?  beginning your tasks at the start of morning would not suffice for a royal family’s schedule.   besides,  i had noticed you were still asleep from the night prior and did not wish to disturb you from your rest.  so,  i took it upon myself to do each of your tasks.  “   

    “ ...! ” As much as he desperately wanted to deny it, he made some valid points however, he wouldn’t give in. His frown visibly widened and he was practically glaring daggers at the man before him at this point.

    “ ... I see. I suppose I was not careful about managing my time correctly so I will take your words into consideration and generate a plan that will improve my performance even further. ” An egotistical smile spread across the butler’s lips.

    “ I can’t very well have you doing my job now, hm ? It won’t do at all if you were continue to trouble yourself so I understand what I need to do now. While I don’t exactly appreciate the fact that you took it upon yourself to attend to my tasks (seeing as it isn’t your responsibility) but for milord’s sake; thank you, I suppose. I will be careful not to be so careless about my time. After all, I strive to become perfect -- if not, near-perfect. Amazing even. This way, I can avoid having you performing my duties. ”

Between his duties as a future exalt and a commander to the shepherds were tearing him apart. Even though Robin is taking care of shepherds strategic planning, he still needs to give his opinion on the matter.

Chrom blinked when suddenly Jakob appeared. For Naga’s sake, first Frederick and now Jakob? He surely did not plan on hiring another retainer but he cannot possibly leave Jakob after his long faithful service to his late sister.

“H-huh!? J-Jakob, look this is my work I have to–S-stop pushing me to bed!”

He thought Frederick was naggy, meet Jakob. 

“Alright, alright….*sigh* Jakob..thank you. I know this has been hard for you as well. If you need to leave, you can. You are not bound to me or anyone.”

     AT least he’s finally got his word of compliance however, his last words were enough for the butler to scrunch his brows in mild irritation. He certainly didn’t understand a thing did he ?

     “ ... Milord, I am bound to you no matter what. You understand don’t you ? I can’t simply abandon her wishes so therefore, I will remain by your side until the end of time, whether you like or not. Though, if I had to be honest, I have to say that having a master like you isn’t exactly the most ideal. At the very least, you’re tolerable. But all in all, I will follow any command, milord. Even if I have to jump into an army of Risen for you, I would gladly do it. ” 

      Now that he’s made his point, he resumed with escorting him to bed (or rather forcing him to his bedroom). The two had eventually arrived at the future Exalt’s chambers and Jakob swiftly made preparations to get Chrom ready for bed. He grabbed a fresh set of nightwear, as well as towels so he could get all cleaned up to rest. 

      “ Milord. You aren’t feeling unwell, ill or anything of the sorts, correct ? If you are, then do tell me. I will nurse you back to health without fail. If you’re concerned about my other duties, I can pass them onto Frederick without a problem. That way, my attention will be devoted all to you. ”

Since Jakob did ask, Silas shrugged and was about to take his leave, too bad the   butler would never know he took it all along. His steps slowly pacing away then   stopped, turning heel around to face him. He wanted to play along, pretend he didn’t    know. He knew it would be his, who else would brew up tea?

“Unfortunately, I haven’t.” He paused, he knew it would be weird if he presented his best friend with tea.

“Lost it? Don’t tell me you’ve lost your touch, Jakob?” He teased, he wouldn’t mind helping out, guaranteed they wouldn’t find it. Since   only he knew where it was.

“Of course I’ll help, where did you put it last? Are you sure you didn’t just misplace it?”

   “ I most certainly have not ! ” Of course he had taken offense to his little comment of ‘losing his touch’ because he was supposed to be the ideal butler ! This was not an ideal situation for a butler to be in.

    A sigh fell past his lips. “ I just ... simply made a mistake. Gods. ” Shame coursed through every fibre of his being. This was not appropriate for a butler. He needed to be perfect for the sake of his liege.

    “ I .. momentarily left the bag in the kitchen and I swear I did .. However, it was gone by the time I returned. I left only for a couple of minutes, not even three! But ... it was gone. Perhaps someone had taken it but ... Felicia is in Lady Corrin’s, as well as Flora ... I don’t know who would do such a horrible thing. ” 

    “ ... So, my last resort is to have you help me find and find the perpretrator. ”

the day has gone well -- if not for the impending cold that clutches frederick's lungs, throat, skull. he tries to subdue his sick appearance, though upon passing jakob, he sneezes. ( :') )

     “ HOLD it. ” His words rise abruptly as soon as Frederick passes by with a sneeze. A rather sickly one at that. Not to mention the sniffling and the subtle coughs his ears caught earlier certainly got his attention.

     “ This is hardly the time to be attending to any of your duties, Frederick. Work any further and you might even end up dead. Now, off to bed you go. I can handle everything from here. ” This was certainly an advantageous situation for the butler, seeing as Frederick couldn’t interfere with his duties for now but aside from that, he had to rest nonetheless.. For the sake of the Shepards, as well as his own health. 

     “ If you were to pass on the illness onto Lord Chrom or Lady Lissa – Gods. We can’t have that. Besides … I suppose it isn’t ideal for you to be sick. ” As much as his ego wouldn’t have liked to admit it, Frederick was certainly one of the Shepards’ best men and besides, Lord Chrom would be worried sick if he were to catch wind of this.

      Sigh. Most of his duties were taken care of for the day so … perhaps he had no choice but to take it upon himself. It was for the better after all.

      “ … Whether you like it or not, I’ll nurse you back to health. It’s for the good of both of us. So, be grateful that I’m even taking the time to help you. ”

QUESTION: what is jakob's personal favorite dish? / what does he do when he isn't doing butler-duties?

HEADCANON TIME ! // ACCEPTING ALWAYS

JAKOB’s favourite dish: To be honest, I can see Jakob enjoying simple things but he’s more luxurious with his desserts. He would definitely enjoy things like sandwiches and of course, tea with select desserts. If we’re going by Mess Hall meals, I’d say he would like the Peach Upside-Down Cake and the Berry Tart, as long as it’s with his tea. 

As for the more savoury foods, he would enjoy the Steak Sandwich, as well as Cabbage Rolls. He’s not a picky eater but as long as it meets his standards (of being alright at least) then he’s fine. If anything, he would rather his own cooking compared to anyone else’s because he has a goddamn ego. He knows he’s good.

SPARE TIME ACTIVITIES: 

This technically was already answered in my other HC ask but he does enjoy small activities like reading, knitting and baking. They’re hobbies he’s picked up while trying to acquire all the household skills fdlksjkgljf. He’s so mom honestly.

home ! comfort ! relief ! vibrant !

HEADCANON TIME ! // ACCEPTING ALWAYS

HOME:Home is being by his masters’ side because it’s the only place where he truly feels at home. His only reason for living is his master so why wouldn’t he feel at home by his/her side? He can’t call anywhere else home because, he knows how goddamn awful the world out there is so he would rather have his home be by someone he trusts and loves dearly.

Despite all that, he feels like it isn’t his place to call it his home because he’s merely a servant, someone who doesn’t deserve to be by his master’s side but if he’s allowed, he’s always happy to do so. 

COMFORT:

Aside from being by the side of his master, he finds comfort in always occupying himself with something useful; as long as it benefits his master. Whether it’d be chores and/or duties, requests, he’s always happy to do them. 

Another thing he enjoys is little activities like reading and even knitting in his spare time. They’re fun activities to occupy himself with.RELIEF:tbh, i feel like this could lowkey tie with comfort so dfskjglkjdkslf.VIBRANT:Man, I can go like 10 different ways with this word but let’s go with his opinion of vibrant characters! (I’m sorry if this isn’t what you’re looking for jfdklsgjk)

Honestly, he’s not too fond of people who are vibrant or like lively because …. they tire him out honestly lmao. He’s like a grumpy old man. (jakob voice: sure liveliness is nice bu t like can i go n ow. i wANT TO MAKE TEA FOR KAMUI) It’ll take a bit for him to willingly comply with those kinds of characters because honestly, he gets annoyed very easily (as many can tell haha) unless Corrin is like “hey!! go spend time with them pls! :D” and jakob just looks into the camera lik e  ….. y es ofc. all in all, there just needs to be a lot of (gentle) persistence to become friends with him if he’s interacting with a vibrant character.

idk why but its so much easier coming up with headcanons for jakob as opposed to inigo. maybe it’s because when i played FE for the first time, i focused on him a lot so im like !!!!

     “ FREDERICK. I believe I told you I would take care of the laundry for Lord Chrom, as well as Lady Lissa’s today. As well as replace the bed linings, sheets and all but when I came to do so, they were set fresh and new. ” A completely trivial matter but his pride as a perfect butler was wounded. He would not have this. He could’ve easily done all this if it weren’t for Frederick beating him to the punch !

     “ You’re the perpretrator aren’t you ? This is unnacceptable ! Those are my duties that I’m supposed to perform with perfection ! ” 

     Now that it came down to it, he would have to be wary of this man so that meant, waking up earlier before Frederick could even do anything. Yes. That was a wonderful plan.

     “ DO you have something to say to me ? If so then out with it already. I do have to attend to my duties so I’d rather not have you waste my time. ”

"It should be obvious that if my brother is unwell those attending to him are to blame. Explain the situation in full. How have you allowed this to happen? What are his symptoms?"

     “ CERTAINLY … those attending to him are to blame … I deeply apologize, Lord Leo. I … honestly don’t know how I allowed this to happen. I am ashamed of myself.” By the gods .. his heart nearly stopped when he witnessed his liege fainting as soon as he returned home.  “ … Lord Corrin appears to have a fever but, we’re unsure of the cause. I will however, devote all of my time and energy to ensure that milord will recover. I swear on it. I will see that this will not happen ever again. ” Despite his seemingly calm exterior, he was certainly troubled by these turn of events. Panic had nearly gotten the better of him however, he managed to remain calm. After all, there was no merit in losing his composure so calmness was required for the sake of his lord’s health.
