Avtandil (Hangul: 아브탄딜 ; Geo: ავთანდილ) is designated sinner #14 of Limbus Company's LCB department.
Avtandil is a fiery "knight" of the backstreets (or so he says), and the last addition to the company, previously unaffiliated and forced to travel without aid.
He is the focus character of the currently unannounced Canto XIII.
Appearance
Avtandil is a man of short height and average build, with black hair with red tips, cut to the longer side of short hair. He wears the Limbus Company uniform, a plain white shirt tucked into his trousers, a cropped black coat, a thick black waist belt, neatly kept but somewhat dusty shoes, black gloves, and a loosely tied red tie around his neck. Underneath the white shirt he's wearing a grey tight turtleneck.
In battle, Avtandil wields a plain worn down sword, along with a coffin with a butterfly symbol on it, that he seemingly uses as a shield. Additionally, during combat it seems the butterflies tend to cover his sword. Outside of battle, the butterflies remain but in a much lesser quantity.
Personality
Avtandil tends to have a very fiery and passionate personality. While other sinners that tend to be more intelligent seem to have a very serious disposition and a tendency towards emotional distance, Avtandil exhibits more emotions than an average person, and is also more likely to forge bonds quickly. Despite this, he seems to have himself more under control compared to Don Quixote.
His knowledge seems to be a product of contraband from the Nest, the rest has been acquired through his unlicensed travel. As a result, his behaviour alternates between stereotypical backstreets point of view, and the information and behaviours of someone who grew up wealthier in the Nest. As a result, he speaks in a mash of almost poetic language and polite language, along with more casual speech, followed by swearing. He does seem to lack when it comes to technical knowledge, being unable to understand the technology of the city on numerous occasions (such as his confusion regarding singularity-based medical technology), despite his interest in it.
In contrast to most other sinners, he's very open about his motivations, himself, and some of his experiences. However, Hong Lu has remarked on Avtandil possibly making himself appear that way. Though, that can be attributed to Hong Lu's perception due to his own upbringing.
He values knowledge a lot, and seems to feel genuinely upset when incorrect information is shared, oftentimes alluding to an idea of balance between combat expertise, intelligence, and heart, stating that a lack of one or more of those ideas makes one an open wound in battle. As a byproduct of his knowledge-hoarding, he tends to collect objects he considers intriguing.

In this world, Avtandil is a Kleinhammer of the Inquisition divison of N Corp. He's seen as heavily obsessive towards a shared goal within the corporation. In this world, he's wearing the Kleinhammer uniform along with a hammer he's seen dragging across the ground. This Identity mirrors the lower class N Corp. Inquisitors from the main story. This version of Avtandil can be viewed in his N Corp. Kleinhammer Identity.

In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer of the Rosespanner Workshop. He's wearing a dark red suit characteristic of the members of the workshop, his personality does not seem too different from his LCB version, however he does seem significantly more tired. He can be seen in his Rosespanner Workshop Identity.
World of the Kurokumo Clan and Blade Lineage.
In this world, Avtandil is a Salsu of the Blade Lineage. In this universe, as a natural progression of events his travels eventually led him to the Blade Lineage who recognized his ability, the scattered and always-moving nature of the syndicate attracting him. He wields a jikdo in battle, wearing a black undershirt, and a black Dopo robe worn normally in his pre-uptie artwork, and tied around his waist in his post-uptie art. He can be seen in his Blade Lineage Identity.
World of the Former Library Guests.
In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer of the Cane Office. He wears a black suit, white shirt, and a black tie, along with a long black coat. He carries a suitcase instead of a coffin, which is also adorned with a butterfly symbol. The identity mirrors Martina from Library of Ruina. He can be seen in his Cane Office Identity.

In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer of the Seven Association's South Section 4 Branch. He wears the standard Seven Association uniform and carries a longsword. He can be seen in his Seven Association Identity.

In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer for the section 5 of the Liu Association Southern Branch. In a typical Liu Association fashion, he wears the standard association uniform, with his butterflies seemingly looking slightly burned around the edges, due to Liu Association's fire-enhanced martial techniques. World of W corp.
In this world, Avtandil is a Level 3 cleanup agent for WARP Corp. For this identity, W corp was the last resort on his mission, only working on his abnormality-hunting goals between jobs, as a result, he's depicted as exceedingly sluggish but moving forward regardless. He wears the cleanup agent uniform, and still uses his usual weaponry, adjusted to fit the aesthetic of WARP Corp's former merchandise. He can be seen in his WARP Corp. Identity.
World of U corp.
In this world, Avtandil is a Little Brother of The Middle. He wears the standard attire of the syndicate, complete with the purple hawaiian shirt, white trousers, and chains loosely wrapped around his arms, and one chain wrapped around his waist. He is not wearing anything under the Hawaiian shirt, revealing he's covered in The Middle enhancement tattoos across his chest, arms, and neck. He can be seen in his The Middle Identity.
World of Cinq Association Eastern Branch.
In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer of the Cinq Association's East Section 3 branch. He wears a gunlongpao decorated with the Cinq symbol motifs shaped into the shape of dragons, in the colour of blue and white characteristic of Cinq association. He also wears a pyrojade bracelet that enhances his combat ability. He can be seen in his Cinq Association East Identity.
World of Dieci Association Southern Branch.
In this world, Avtandil is a fixer of the Dieci Association's Southern Branch and takes on a role of a Fist. He wears the standard Dieci uniform, and uses his arms covered in butterflies in combat. He can be seen in his Dieci Association South Identity.
World of the J Corp. Backstreets.
In this world, Avtandil is a tingtanger in Tingtang Gang. He wears a dark green Hawaiian button-down shirt, unbottoned up until the middle of his torso. His shoulders and arms are covered in tattoos, and his ears are covered in piercings, along with some facial piercings. He can be seen in his Tingtang Tingtanger Identity.
World of the Fanghunt Office.
In this world, Avtandil is a Fixer for the Fanghunt Office. He wears the typical Fanghunt Office uniform, wielding a massive hammer in combat. In this world, his sadistic behaviour towards abnormalities and distortions manifests towards bloodfiends as well, believing them to be extensions of those phenomena. He can be found in his Fanghunt Office Identity.
World of R Corp.
In this world, Avtandil is a member of the Rabbit Team of R Corp's 4th pack. (subject to change, might rewrite him as a raven). He wears the standard Rabbit Team armor. Despite being a rabbit, he is consistently seen using the coffin still.
World of H Corp.
In this world, Avtandil is an Adept of the Yin Branch of the Heishou packs. He wears a dark brown and orange outfit, with an orange net on the back of his hat, reaching all the way down to his lower back.

Avtandil is based on Avtandil from Shota Rustaveli's epic poem "The Knight In Panther's skin"
- Avtandil seems to be a condensation of personality traits of several characters, inverse of how the original source takes real historical figures and breaks them down into several characters. Avtandil as a result is often surrounded by thematic patterns of several characters despite Avtandil from the poem being his main inspiration. Examples of common themes would be roses, the imagery of the sun and the moon, daffodils, pearl and crystal. Much like how The Knight in Panther's Skin formed much of Georgian identity throughout the centuries, Avtandil represents that idea of morals.
The Knight in Panther's Skin also has strong themes of emotional sensitivity and how even the perfect heroes have moments of instability. That is highlighted in Avtandil's high emotional sensitivity despite the most commonly expressed calmer disposition.
Avtandil's introduction quote comes from a part of The Knight in Panther's Skin where he tells Tariel that the beauty he seeks as wonderful as it is, is also laborious to obtain. What is most desired will always be of the most effort to acquire. But it is not a quote that encourages giving up due to that truth, but the contrary, it is a call to keep moving forward.

Avtandil's outfit in his Cinq Association East Identity seems to be inspired by the painting of Feliks Jasieński[1] by Leon Wyczółkowski. Likely a nod and highlight to being a "generous hoarder".
