David Gallagher was having a tough stream…
Resurrecting my GX/KH crossover, this time with 100% more fluff!
For my good friend @chickinu
Also may be of interest to @xenvitavt
More KH x GX (with a small Arc-V cameo.) I did not expect there to be so many of us who love both... what a nice surprise!
Part 1
I just realized I can cross over my favorite characters and literally no one can stop me. This is way too much power.
(these captures are from gll99's GX fansub! you can find it free on their blog @/kaiowut99)
Part 2
I saw the assumptions thing and I’m going to assume you once had a Sonic phase
What do you mean phase? I still enjoy Sonic. My favourite character is Silver the Hedgehog.
Anonymously tell me your assumpmtions about me and I'll confirm or deny them.

'xehanort turned evil because he watched his classmates die in front of him' youre incorrect but im not sure how to explain. hold on.
the root of it is youre misunderstanding xehanort's motivation. he's not categorically evil, he isn't doing all this for the sake of destroying the world, he's dead obsessed with kingdom hearts and has decided that there is no cost too high for reaching it. it isn't that seeing his classmates die in front of him caused him to, in some way, see the world as worthless, its that xehanort in dark road watches the lengths that vidar and baldr are willing to go to try to reach kingdom hearts and then spends the rest of his entire life trying to figure out if that was worth it.
its very very clear in dark road that using kingdom hearts is a response specifically to grief. its the only game where we have so many examples of people who are trying to use it, and both vidar and baldr are turning to kingdom hearts because people they loved died and they didnt know what to do about it. xehanort spends the rest of his entire life (and then some) completely obsessed with that exact same path because he watched the worst thing possible happen in front of him and is trying to make sense of it. like yes it is because of that but its not the same. its different. am i making sense
Add onto this, Xehanort’s ALWAYS had a bit more of a nuanced view of Light and Darkness as more than just extremes than his classmates, likely because he wasn’t raised in Scala. Most of Xehanort’s training life is him reconciling the Scala extremism with his own observations and opinions.
“Everyone has darkness, which must mean that it is an intrinsic part of existence. However keyblades were made to destroy darkness, and darkness is the root of evil, but it is also powerful, yet it is weak enough that it cannot stand against light so it must resort to trickery and underhanded tactics. But what about those who are full of light but are also still weak? They must have darkness which is pretending to be light! It’s a false light”. In Xehanort’s mind, it is the weak that use darkness, and yet, it was strong enough to kill most of his friends and the upperclassmen.
It’s a paradox. The light must be the greatest power in existence, but it requires keyblades to defend it. It is the source of all goodness, but it can still be cruel (Eraqus attempting to murder Ven to prevent the χ-blade from forming), the light can be overtaken by darkness if not defended.
The darkness is somehow both this overwhelming force of destruction and weak enough to be vanquished by children, it needs to resort to using vessels/puppets yet anyone with sufficient willpower can outright refuse to succumb to it, like Xehanort himself but also Riku. It is the source of evil supposedly but time and time again it is used for good, even the original Chirithies were made from darkness BY THE MOM HIMSELF
Xehanort’s philosophy ultimately becomes that the weakness of the light is simply “not real, true light”, that somehow darkness pretends to be light. The weak who harbours this “false light” supplant and steal the power of those who have “true light” and make it all more fragile. Yet Xehanort himself eventually succumbs to his philosophy, he controls the darkness (which again, must supposedly corrupt and subvert people for its own intentions, to destroy light) yet still acts in what he assumes is the best path for the future of the world, to reset it. Perhaps he could rationalize it by saying that he’s “self-aware” so the darkness doesn’t consume him.
YET
He becomes that “false light” that he was concerned about. He disguises himself as light (with Eraqus and Terra), oppresses those weaker than him (Ven and Vanitas), and deludes himself into thinking that he is righteous, disregarding others in the process (how many times was he foiled by Sora and Riku?)
The most ironic part is that Riku’s development COMPLETELY contradicts Xehanort’s philosophy, the path was kicked off by Xehanort, and Riku’s own actions was the spanner.
Riku succumbs to Ansem, sure, but Riku does not ACCEPT Ansem, he fights his way out of the dark and becomes strong not in spite of the darkness but because of it. According to Xehanort’s philosophy, none of Riku’s strength should be real because he was weak enough to succumb in the first place, because darkness supposedly shouldn’t have any real, non hollow strength of its own. If he were one of those “true lights” capable of genuine strength, then he wouldn’t have had the flaws to succumb. Yet Riku’s strength is real enough that Xehanort no longer has any hold over the Riku who has developed, who has embraced himself in his entirely, light and darkness. Xehanort tellingly can’t actually use KH1 Riku as a vessel. There’s a REASON that red herring in KH3 exists, why Repliku was given an expanded role, because Repliku was the next best thing since Riku flied in the face of Xehanort’s conclusions.
In conclusion, Xehanort became a villain because of grief mixed with EXTREME cognitive dissonance and the need for answers.

Eggs: Restaurant style ribbon scramble with garlic power, chives, and sharp cheddar added in
Steak: Med. Rare, typically of the cheap variety - otherwise marinated flank steak, or stir fried ironsides/flat iron steak.
Milk: Miss me with anything that isn’t whole
Alcohol: Typically either some form of whiskey or other hard liquor. Easy bet is scotch
Warm Drink: Hot chocolate when feelsbad, hojicha when feelsgood, da hong pao otherwise.
I’ll just kinda tag whoever comes to mind immediately here…
@dame-bloodrose @inconvenientmoonrising @cheeseofthecake @genderfluidwerewolfgirlfriend
Eggs: over easy on a bagel
Steak: Sous Vide then pan seared with compound butter
Milk: Whole milk, I mostly use milk for cooking or to wash down something spicy
Alcohol: Beer or mixed drinks, especially with gin or rum
Warm drinks: hot chocolate, tea, cider spiked with spiced rum, and eggnog spiked with spiced rum.
Hmmmm…. @boybeetles @squirrelly-13 @spookywriterssugermomma @punkboyjuul
Egg: scrambled with sausage, mushrooms, and spinach added
Steak: medium rare with A1 sauce and mushrooms
Milk: Oat milk , extra creamy. Usually just add milk to my chai lattes and other black teas. Don’t drink it by itself.
Alcohol: tie between Lager Beer and any cream liqueur
Warm Drink: Tea in general. My favorite hopes around a lot. Right now I’m obsessed with herbal mint tea with a lot of honey
@starqueensterlexa @n0va-pkt @wackyweirdwriter and anyone else who wants to join :)
Eggs: Benedict!
Steak: medium rare, a little closer to the medium side, with the fat trimmed off. My dad makes very good steak in general, so usually his will always be a hit. Has some really cool glazes, one using honey and one using maple syrup. But he also makes some really good spice rubs.
Milk: 2%, baby. Give me THICC cow juice.
Alcohol: very restricted in what I can tolerate. Generally when it comes to what spirit I like in a drink it’ll be coconut rum or vodka. But generally I’ll only drink if it’s in a sweet drink that masks the burn well. I do typically enjoy slushees.
Warm drink: Torn between tea and hot chocolate. Coffee gives me really weird sensations that I try to avoid unless I need to actually get work done, also sleepy. My favourite type of tea is Raspberry tea. I do love hot chocolate in the winter though. Matcha is also real good with maple syrup, but I don’t have it often at all… so short answer I guess is I can’t choose.
I think Omega deserves to be a KH superboss. I’m picturing a side quest line of sorts where Omega enlists Sora’s help in researching true “strength of heart” leading to her self actualization. Sort of like in FFXIV but with more of a friendly tone.
Also imagine how heavenly Heartless, Torn From The Heavens or GOD FORBID eScape would be if Yoko Shinomura or Kaoru Wada could get her hands on them. And Nobuo Uematsu has already worked on KH.
Imagine how amazing it would be if Masayoshi Soken and Yoko Shinomura collaborated. They’d COOK
Gonna make a full fight piece eventually but until then, take some initial digital design work for Omega-F
Her texture is REALLY weird and kind of is mostly conveyed through rendering so I have to get better to really show what I think. But her base colours are really nice because with how desaturated they are, any shading and rendering can REALLY impact what colours you see on her. Also her hair is really easy to make super shiny. She has a 20-step hair care routine.
Manifesting Omega in KH4
it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.
