“It’s time for you to stop being politely angry.”

When I was 9 I began to binge and purge. This lasted until I was 14. I remember going into high school and thinking to myself what the hell I care what people think! Yeah I got teased but I wore what I wanted. I didn’t get asked to prom, but I went anyway. I even tried out to be a cheerleader, didn’t make it but I went to all the games. Through all the adversity I could have went back but I didn’t. I am an bulimia survivor. Understand that you are strong. You are worthy. And the picture that society has painted for what you should look like is false. You are a conqueror #nationaleatingdisorderawarenessweek #fatandfree • Photo by @shamelesspinup in collaboration with @pinupgirlclothing (at Shameless Photography)
STUNNING.
[ image is screenshot of tweet by nefertizzy that says, “they call them ‘developing countries’ because ‘countries struggling to recover from being ruthlessly pillaged and systemically destabilized’ doesn’t have the same ring.” ]
They call them ‘developing’ because capitalism is normalized by the ones who own the capital to deflect blame for literally doing the opposite to these countries.
They are not “developing,” just participating in capitalism but still racialized. Hmmm… I wonder if that’s why our minimum wage is only a few dollars more to convince us that Western capitalist democracies are “successful.”

“The Afro-American militant is a ‘militant’ because he defends himself, his family, his home, and his dignity. He does not introduce violence into a racist social system - the violence is already there, and has always been there. It is precisely this unchallenged violence that allows a racist social system to perpetuate itself. When people say that they are opposed to Negroes ‘resorting to violence’ what they really mean is that they are opposed to Negroes defending themselves and challenging the exclusive monopoly of violence practiced by white racists.”

Robert F. Williams, Negroes With Guns. 1962. p. 72.
The book is said to be “the most important intellectual influence on Huey P. Newton, the founder of the Black Panther Party,” and continues to be to be used in college courses, and current debates.
The documentary film Negroes with Guns: Rob Williams and Black Power, released in 2004, provides witness testimonies of many of the events described in the book.

Solidarity with indigenous Australians today and every day - we simply cannot celebrate the nation wholly and inclusively when the date chosen marks the beginning of hundreds of years of oppression of the nation’s first peoples. We need a #DateChange now. #AlwaysHasBeen #AlwaysWillBe #AboriginalLand #SurvivalDay #InvasionDay #Australia
