ANON! so i’m a bit of a freak and keep a list of my favourite willmack fics i read, but i’m currently beginning to think of this list not being detailed enough so i’m debating making a spreadsheet… can u tell im autistic

so, iirc i posted three fics in a comment as my like willmack ‘bibles’. these are fics i believe everyone should read. for anyone who missed, they are:

byline of this prologue by zejeni. what if will went to shattuck-st mary’s with mack, and will’s family was mack’s billet family? this fic is incredible and one of the best things i’ve ever read

fault lines by pnwren. what happens when mack gets a career ending injury, and he moves to cape cod to get away from all the noise? and then he meets a tatted, gay coffee shop owner called will and he begins to question everything he knew about himself. *please check tags for tw’s!*
your boy by nowheresomeone100. what happens when will gets traded, and his and mack’s friendship falls apart? and then years later will’s asked to come be interviewed for the sharks’ 50th anniversary documentary, and mack’s the one tasked to get him back?
stare slave djeovino by pertinence. what happens when mack goes to croatia for a few weeks over the summer break, and he’s trying to plan a trip to cape cod with will, but he gets the invite to halifax by crosby for the exact same time? warning: this one is less of a getting together fic and more of a character study of mack and his familial dynamics. extremely worth the read, i was a sobbing mess by the end, but don’t go into it like i did expecting to be reading about WM in halifax. *please also check tags for tw’s!*
sleight of hand and twist of fate by shayvrides. what happens if will runs away to a small irish pub after a career ending injury, leaving his on again off again boyfriend mack behind with no knowledge of where he is? what happens when mack shows up to the pub one random day three years later? *please check tags for tw’s!*
all this rotting fruit with you by caesarontv (ineedtocrash). what happens when will is traded to the canucks? where he has to play alongside his boyfriend of 5 years’ two brothers, who don’t know about him and his boyfriend.
looking for a partner by haroldslouis. what happens when mack is highkey obsessed with weddings and being a husband? and will’s very confused at why he can’t stop thinking about a throw away comment mack made about being a “baller husband”

The Only Play by spinningdewdrops. what happens when the sharks are planning to trade will? but mack decides they need to get married, as best friends, to make sure that will can’t leave him.
will you lay down your armor (and be with me forever)? by scifibabe. what happened between will and mack at halifax? there’s also a second work in the series which is the entire thing from sid’s pov!
seven days a week by kerfluffle. what happens when mack fails one of his college units so has to attend summer school? and he finds out his upstairs neighbour is country club frat boy will, who annoys the hell out of him
everyone we know understands why it’s meant to be (‘cause we’re crazy) by listers_angels. five times when people accidentally find out will and mack are together, and one time will and mack tell people they’re together

picture perfect by dalsy. what happens when college hockey player mack becomes friends with their photographer, will? tbh i recommend anything by dalsy; their fics are amazing and they do it perfectly every damn time!! including:
bad idea by dalsy. what happens when mack tames will, the campus slut?!
The Celebrini-Smith Wedding (no, not that one) by moncuries (three). what happens when best friends mack and will introduce aiden and grace, and they hit it off so well that they get married?
Misreading the Play by seattlegrace. what happens when mack thinks will has a crush on eky, and will thinks mack has a crush on eky? but the whole time they both just have crushes on one another…
eight miles high and falling fast by rafaelnadal. what happens when mack comes out to will, and will feels so weird about it he thinks he’s homophobic?
Not My Monkeys But Somehow My Circus by natemacknibbles. what happens when frat president will and his best friend mack are so close that people start asking if they’re together? this is my fav willmack fic of all time, it’s so fun and silly
