Aka, the fic going along with my Looping Lime AU!
Only their time passes by, and from their eyes, the oil leaked. A malfunction, only this time, they're still smiling at its side knowing that they would one day be gratified. So here they lay in its imperfect paradise, a eulogistic lullaby. - Or, Green gets stuck in a time loop and slowly loses their grasp on who they are. From it, Lime is born.

... Aka an explanation of my AU! (Looping Lime)
So, basically, the general premise of it is that Lime is stuck in a time loop. However, at the start of the loops, Lime isn't, well, exactly... Lime. Lime is Crewmate!Green after several time loops, and additionally, several deaths. They act similarly to Lime in the show, but this is due to the fact that after having died so many times, they started to lose all hope and sense of self.Ā
Additionally, there is no "original" Lime. Lime only starts to exist after several loops, where they feel like a separate identity is needed in order to survive alongside the crew.
In this, it's really important to note that Crewmate!Green and Impostor!Green (Who I will refer to as C!Green and I!Green for short) are two separate entities. The loops technically start before the hull breach, where C!Green injures themselves on the reactor, whose core basically contains the gaseous structure resembling a star and whatnot, so just think of it as having the core of a mini star. Basically, by accidentally injuring themselves on the reactor, their body reacts weirdly with the matter in it and whatnot, thus starting the time loops. The loop is reset every single time C!Green dies, although I!Green also remembers the loops due to the fact that they took over C!Green's original body, which still made contact with the reactor.
After this, C!Green is then killed and replaced by I!Green, just like in the show, but they wake up in a different, more decaying body. Over the course of the loops, this body starts decaying and looking more sickly, giving C!Green a more yellowish hue the more they go through the loops. And, through a wonderful series of misunderstandings plus C!Green having the survival instinct of a guy trying to escape a time loop, Lime is alive!
Anyways, there's a lot more to this, but this is just the basic premise of it! By the way, there WILL be ships! They won't exactly be the main focus of the plot for now, but they'll exist! For now, it's just a reaaally messy, fucked up iteration of Blime and queerplatonic Chefskiss.
(btw, the art is also a sneak peak for something for the fic, which should be coming out some time this week if all goes according to plan! ^^)

every hatchetfield project has a background character named rollerskate guy with 2 lines of spoken dialogue and 3 total minutes of screentime comprised solely of him rollerskating across stage and flipping off the main characters, and then theyll announce a spin off called rollerama where rollerskate guy is eaten alive by an eldritch god as consequence for his hubristic desire to be the best skater in hatchetfield (his father left after he lost his first skating competition and he's been chasing his approval ever since). rollerskate guy is played by joey richter.
In your au, would any of the crewmates figure out like was in a time loop or would they all think they're crazy? I think it'd be fun if cyan had like a small clue towards it, but not quite figure out it's a time loop before they die. Additionally, would any of the imposter figure it out, causing the order of events to change and kill them sooner?
in the earlier loops, nobody really knows whatās going on, but the further down things go, there are most definitely some suspicions in the crew. like, for this au, like i said in a comment, lime didnāt even exist when the loops first started, and only appeared after quite a few loops already happened, so each loopās actions do ending up changing the crew in their own ways.
also, green remembers the loops from the beginning. and this is related to how lime came to be during the loops as well. i will say though, the death order DOES change each and every loop. some only have one death before it resets, and some have several. green stays as an impostor every loop as well, but who knows? maybe iāll change it around as different things happen in each loop. :3

hi. first post in the among us show fandom, gulp. kinda nervous. ANYWAYS!!! i wanted to share my lime design for my au where they're stuck in a time loop, and that's pretty much the whole reason they're crazy. there's a lot more to it, but i'm also writing a fic for this explaining how lime is in this au, because i kinda make them go through A Lot.
