IN STUDIO - TASK 05
First proposition photomontage. This proposes the experience of the non-human, through the idea of isolation. By foregrounding the non-humans of my proposal I was able to communicate effectively the feelings and experience of the dock as well as how isolation may be comprehended as a non-human. âRevealing the invisibleâ was achieved via the smoke. The concept that what we see is the same as that of non-humans is a myth. Proven by many biological and environmental scientists. Thus the smoke is a way of perceiving what may be there but not seen. The main focus going forward, will be on the concept of what isolation is. The sight of the dock and the human influence (the hooks) needs a bit more work to understand their role in this proposition, this will be worked on in future work.
....hmmmm, the smoke is a very interesting idea (especially the way you are describing it here) - but does it literally have to be âsmokeâ?.....what are the QUALITIES of smoke you can use in architectural sense? fine dispersed material, floating in a bigger space / camoflaging & dynamic / always disappearing.......MANY intriguing ways to interpret this.......
